Zeke paused again, for a moment of thought.

"...a father figure..." he said.

"Heh... I... guess I am, kind of." he admitted to himself.

"So be it, then!" he then declared.

"I'll move in here." he told her.

With that, the two of them embraced each other, and Zeke turned his eyes in a general skyward direction.

'Not sure if you had anything to do with this, but if you did, thank you.' he thought, as he smiled, and had a feeling the future was looking pretty bright.

Zeke just scratched the back of his head when she said all that.

"Heh." he chuckled.

"Well, if you're willing to put up with me." he said.

"Sure." he told her. "I'll move in here with you." he told her.

"Just so long as it's not an inconvenience." he then stressed.

"I don't want to be a burden or anything."

Zeke froze when he heard that.

"Ah..." he stammered.

"I... ah... live... here?" he asked.

He then paused for a moment, and thought about it.

"...actually, truth be told, I have no attachment to my current place." he told her. "It's... lonely there. I really don't like coming home to it." he then said candidly.

"...would that really be all right, though?" he then asked.

"For me to live here with you and Olivia?"

"Pointless to pontificate on." Zeke agreed.

He then sighed, and relaxed in the couch.

"Well, glad THAT'S been cleared up." he said. "I was really confused there." he chuckled.

"That should be it, then." he then commented.

"Don't think there's anything else..." he went on, thinking for a moment.

"...unless YOU have something else to add."

Zeke nodded along with what she said.

"Makes sense." he said.

"Fair enough, then." he said further.

"Thanks for clearing that up, I was... confused, to say the least." he commented.

"So I assume your fae mana is a contributing factor to why you're such a good medic?" he then asked. "At least, for me, anyway?" he asked further.

"Because you're better than anyone else at healing me when I'm hurt."

"....huh." Zeke muttered.

"That's... really interesting." he said. "I've never heard of anything quite like that before." he admitted.

"So your mana is that of a fae..." he went on, trailing off a little.

"I assume that was passed down to young Olivia?" he asked.

"And has she developed any physical attributes as well?" he asked further.

"....." Zeke was silent as she told her story.

"I..." he stammered.

"...hm." he then mumbled.

"So... they went to the fae for help... you would die otherwise." he went on.

"And... they did a species change to save your life?" he asked.

"It's been done before. I mean... that draydin born of a lantha actually changed the species of a human to save his life." he told her. "...and yes, I'm aware of just how odd that statement is." he quickly added.

"But he was a human and had contracted the Ouroboros virus. He was changed to a draydin to save his life." he reiterated.

"Is that a similar case with you?" he asked Angela.

"Right." Zeke said.

He then paused for a moment... thinking about his wording... before taking in a breath, holding it for a moment, and then exhaling it slowly.

"Obviously this changes nothing between us." he said. "I just want to get that out there, even if it's a 'duh' statement." he commented.

"Just... yeah." he mumbled.

"Secondly... I mean... how? When?" he asked.

"Were... you born a fae?" he asked her. "I mean, that seems highly improbable, but... I know of a draydin that was born of a lantha. Stanger things HAVE happened in this world." he commented.

The girl shook his head before accepting Eke's hand.

"I'm okay." he replied as she was helped to her feet.

"And it's my fault as well." she then said. "I was distracted. Had my head in the clouds and such." she admitted, giggling nervously and blushing slightly.

"And Eke? That's a cute name. It suits you." she then complimented him.

"I'm Alymm. But everyone calls me Aly." she introduced herself.

When she got back, she saw Zeke sitting on the couch in her livingroom.

He was silent, and seemed to be in deep thought about something. He almost didn't notice her come in, but looked over towards her after a few seconds.

"....right." he said.

"I think we both know what's on my mind. At least, I'm pretty sure you have a vague idea, at least." he commented.

"I'm just... organizing my thoughts, I suppose is the best way to put it." he went on.

"Plus, I didn't want to make dinner awkward." he added.

"I... will remember that." Tobias said.

"Yes, these berries are very temperamental, and even us dryads have trouble maintaining them." he commented.

"We lack the necessary mana to keep the soil just so." he lamented.

"But... yes, I can see why the fae would be able to keep it healthy..." he went on, thinking about it.

"Fascinating, really." he commented.

"Then again, nature has a way of interweaving all living things." he went on, almost absently.

"As my sister would say." he added with a light chuckle.

Tobias looked at the recipe, before showing it to his wife.

"Never thought to use THESE berries in a marinade." he commented.

"Very interesting, indeed." he said further, before looking back at Angela.

"Yes, thank you for this." he echoed.

"Seems there's nothing she can't do." Zeke commented with a light chuckle.

"You're a lucky man." Tobias told him.

Tobias and Zeke looked at each other briefly, before the former cleared his throat slightly.

"Ah, Angela." he said.

"This steak is amazing." he commented, sensing the unease and trying to get things back on track.

"It's cooked to perfection, and the flavour is unlike anything I've ever had." he told her.

"Can we get the recipe off of you?" he asked.

"I'd love to make this at home."

Zeke paused as well when he heard that, and several questions were racing through his head.

"Indeed." Tobias chimed in.

"Leave it to the next generation to move away from such stereotypes." he said with a chuckle.

"...ah, yes." Zeke then said.

"Children generally are the path to a better future." he commented.

"In so many ways." he then added.
