"...........ohhhhh, this was a mistake." Ryker muttered.

"This... this was a mistake." he said.

"Yeah, no, you... you can't be here any longer." he commented.

"I will not allow you to stay in this horrible place any longer." he insisted, the other side of him starting to show some physical appearance on his features.

"They're not helping you, they're making you worse." he said further, before going over to Eke and sitting down beside him.

"God damn it all, and I thought they were honestly going to help you." he growled, venom in his tone.

"What kind of hellhole IS this place?"

"I did." Zeke replied.

"By the way, I noticed that your front door is borked again." he then said.

"I fixed it before, but I can do it again for you if you want." he offered.

"Oh, and about Liv." he continued.

"Is there anything I can do to make your life easier, regarding her?" he asked.

"Pick her up from school? Help her with anything? Just... anything at all, in general?" he asked further.

She received a reply within a minute... as though Sharp had been waiting for the email.

It was at that point, Zeke returned with two water bottles.

"Here you go." he told her, handing her one.

After she'd said that, she felt a surge of mana in her room, and she saw that her laptop, as well as everything else she'd need with it, had been teleported onto the small table by her bed.

It seemed that Zeke had wanted to get it to her more quickly than the water.

Also, it seemed that Sharp had wanted her to actually boot it up while there... which was odd.

And there was only one way to find out why.

When she did boot it up, she saw she had an email from Sharp, so she opened it and read it.

Angela.

I KNOW you're going to want to return to work before you're ready to. I KNOW it. And I want you to make a decent recovery before you come back. So we'll compromise.

As you know, the Unit it transitioning to making everything paperless, but with the sheer amount of paperwork we have, it's not that easy. However, we've managed to make a lot of the medical wing's paperwork... paperless.

So while you're recovering, you're in charge of the paperless paperwork. And there's a decent backlog to get through, not to mention what WILL be due.

Will that satisfy you? it read.

"Got it." Zeke replied.

"Be right back." he told her.

"Feel free to... you know, get comfortable or whatever in bed." he then said.

With that, he left her room to get what she requested.

"Do you want more than one!?" she heard him call up.

"Just to have, I mean!" he added.

After the orderly had told Eke he had a visitor, they revealed who it was, letting them step into view.

"Oh my god!" Ryker said upon seeing him.

"What the...?" he muttered, before shaking his head.

"Thank you." he then told the orderly, clearing his throat a little.

"Eke, they're finally letting me see you!" he then said to Eke.

"I would imagine that there were other reasons, too." Zeke muttered as they entered her room and he set her down on her bed.

"Right." he said.

"Couple things." he said further.

"1. Do you want anything? Like a drink or something to munch on or whatever?" he asked.

"2. Where's your laptop?" he then asked. "Sharp told me to tell you to grab it and boot it up when you got home." he explained.

"So wherever it is, I'll grab it for you as well."

Zeke nodded, and they left. He made his way to a clear area, where he used his mana, and teleported them to her home, appearing in her den.

"Not bad." Zeke said, looking around.

"Not a thing ruffled or out of place." he commented, before starting to carry Angela upstairs.

"You really feel warm." he told her.

"Like you're overheating."

Ryker, on the other hand, kept trying, day after day, to see him.

However, they were refusing to let him see Eke.

He kept being told that Eke was in a delicate state right now, and they were testing for 'X-factors' that might be contributing to his behaviour.

Ryker know what that meant.

He knew they were checking to see if Eke's problems were HIS fault.

But he wondered why they were so adamant about it... why were they being separated like they were...?

Zeke just nodded, and easily lifted Angela up in his arms.

"Good thing there's a workaround for that." he said.

"Come on." he told her.

"Let's get you home." he finished.

Sharp looked at her, before looking at the medic.

"...all we can do is trust her." the medic told him.

"Hm." Sharp mumbled.

"Oh, believe me, I DO trust her." he assured him, looking over at Angela.

Ryker was... torn now.

Seeing Eke like this was tearing him apart, and his other side was threatening to bust loose and destroy them all... but he was somehow managing to keep him down.

"E... Eke..." he said.

"I'll come visit! I promise!" he declared.

"Please! Just endure this for now!" he pleaded.

"I swear! I wouldn't let them do this if it wasn't for your own good!" he then said. "Please believe that!"

Ryker just sighed.

"They were very insistent upon it." he told him.

"So... I'm sorry. But this is happening now." he said.

"But... they'll make sure you get the help you desperately need." he then assured Eke.

"They'd better, anyway." he continued, but in a lower tone.

"If I hear of mistreatment or abuse, they'll answer to US." he snarled.

"You're going to get the help you need." Ryker told him.

"Help that you've probably needed for a very long time." he went on.

"I'm sorry I didn't see it before." he then sighed.

"It got THIS bad... right under my nose." he lamented.

"I'm sorry I failed you in that regard, Eke."

"Hm." the medic muttered.

"I see." he said.

"Well, I'm sure you know your body better than anyone else." he told her.

"Though, overworking yourself does not help matters." he added.

After a little bit, Sharp returned with Zeke.

"Take her home to rest." Sharp ordered the nephilim.

"Yessir." Zeke responded.
