Zeke just chuckled as Liv said what she did.

"I got it in France." he told her.

"A local shop near where my Mom lives sells it." he said further. "I'll make sure to get you some more when I'm visiting her next." he then assured her.

With that, he grabbed the spoon and tried the sauce, licking his lips afterwards.

"Oh, that is sublime." he commented.

"That has so many layers of flavour to it." he complimented her further.

"And yep, that wine should complement the meal nicely. Hopefully the Dentrovos will like it as well." he added, referring to the dryads.

"Hi, Angela!" Zeke called to Angela.

"And yeah... I need to get used to that." he then said to Liv.

"Come on, I got something for you." he told her as they made their way to the kitchen.

Once they were there, Zeke put the paper bag he had in his hands on the table, and pulled out a nice bottle of fine wine, known for its sweet fruity taste, and smooth flavour.

"Brought a drink for dinner for the adults." he told her.

"And for the kids..." he went on, looking at Liv and smiling. "I have this." he told her.

He then produced a 2-litre bottle of soda, that clearly looked like it was heavily flavoured with citrus. But Liv had never seen that brand before.

"Here." he said, producing a tiny second bottle as well, and handing it to her.

"Try this sampler bottle."

Zeke watched her walk off, before heading to where he needed to go.

"Hmmm." he muttered.

"Ah!" he said, nodding and smiling to himself.

-Later that day-

Sure enough, at around 4:30ish, Angela and Liv heard the doorbell of their home chime throughout the house.

Knowing who it would be, Angela got Liv to answer the door, where she saw Zeke standing there.

"Hey, Liv!" Zeke greeted her with a smile when she opened the door.

"Uh... yeah, sure!" Ryker replied.

"I'm sure you could." he told him.

"You'd just need the venues and such... perhaps look for an orchestra or something that needs someone." he went on.

"...and, a walk? Okay." he then said.

"Where are you going?" he asked.

"And how long you think you'll be gone?"

Zeke blushed for a small moment, before he shook it off slightly.

"Heh." he chuckled.

"Well, I... I do what I can." he said.

"Or, I try to, anyway." he clarified.

"Regardless, I'll let you check the medical wing quickly, so you can take the last few days off you have." he told her.

"I'd ask if you want a lift back, but you probably drove her." he then said further.

"Meaning you're more than capable of getting yourself back home, I assume."

".........................." Zeke was silent.

"I... well, crap." he said.

"I don't think I was supposed to say that." he mumbled.

"Truth is, I was one that recommended you for the promotion." he admitted.

"Sharp was considering getting rid of your supervisor for a while, so I mentioned your name." he explained further.

"...you weren't supposed to know about my involvement, though. I didn't want you thinking it was nepotism or anything."

Zeke thought for a moment, and then nodded.

"Right." he said.

"I'll arrive around 4:30ish." he told her.

"And I'll bring a nice wine for dinner." he said. "...and something for Liv as well." he then added.

He was then silent, and smiled at her.

"I'm glad things are looking up for you." he commented.

"You need this promotion, and the raise that comes with it."

Zeke just laughed.

"Serves him right, honestly." he said.

"Guy didn't know what the hell to do with a leadership role." he grumbled.

"And sure! I'll be there." he told her.

"Far be it for me to disappoint a young lady." he commented with a small chuckle.

"What time do you want me to show up?" he asked.

"And do you want help prepping and/or cooking? Also, should I bring anything for the dinner?" he asked further. "Like a drink or dessert?"

Zeke just sighed.

"Yuh-huh." he said.

"Just don't work." he warned her.

"But good to hear that things went well in that meeting." he commented, before pausing. "Though it seems like your supervisor is having a crappy day." he then said.

"Walked past him earlier, and he was looking VERY sullen and sorry for himself."

Ryker was silent as the melody filled the area.

"...wow..." he said quietly.

"That is... really amazing." he commented.

"The song is beautiful, and the manual dexterity is truly impressive." he said further.

'Diamonds are crafted with pressure, after all.' the demon then said in his mind.

Ryker hated to admit it... but it was a good point.

"..........." Ryker was silent, and just bit his lip.

'Ahhh, the ignorance of it all.' the demon said in his mind.

'Shut up. Just... shut your damn mouth.' Ryker mentally snapped back.

"Well, I'm glad you got a piano." he then told Eke.

"I'm glad you seem really happy with it."

Hal was silent as Angela said what she did, and then left.

"Hm." he mumbled.

"Maybe I should dig deeper into Walters." he said to himself.

"See if this behaviour extends beyond making sure complaints about him disappear." he muttered further.

Meanwhile, as Angela walked through the corridors, she almost literally bumped into Zeke.

"Oh, hey." Zeke greeted her.

"How'd things go with Sharp?" he asked, knowing he had asked her to see him that day. "Or... well, I'm assuming you've already had your meeting, seeing as you're not walking towards his office." he reasoned with a small chuckle.

Hal accepted the paperwork, and sighed.

"I know." he replied.

"And I know that working under Walters was... trying, at times." he told her.

"I don't know HOW he managed to get so overpromoted, but it's high time that was corrected." he reasoned.

"At any rate, you can head out whenever you like." he then said.

"...and do NOT try and sneak in some work while here." he added with a smirk.
