Zeke chuckled in response.

"Ah, yes." he said.

"Yes, that's good." he agreed.

"Just... just don't push yourself too hard." he then said further. "We... don't need you resetting your improvement and progress." he reasoned.

"Beyond that... um... yeah, I'm going to get Liv in a bit." he continued.

"And... I was thinking of making up a pizza for dinner." he told her.

"That work for you?" he asked.

"........." Ryker was silent for a moment, before covering his eyes with his hand... and chuckling.

It was low at first, but then it grew, louder and louder, until he was almost outright laughing.

"So. You want to go back to the way you were, do you?" he asked.

"That's a mighty vague wording." he said, a smirk playing out on his face.

"I'll bet if I concentrated hard enough, I could rewind time. Back to before you and Ryker-boy even met." he told him. "If you two never met, then you wouldn't become this." he went on.

"...probably." he then mumbled.

"Or, I can rip this side of your personality out of you... taking random memories with it, of course." he continued.

"Tell me. Are you willing to sacrifice your relationship with Ryker to go back to 'the old you'?" he asked, staring right into Eke's eyes.

As she made her way to the stairs, she saw that Zeke was clearing wrestling internally with what had just transpired.

However, as she just reached the stairs, he spoke.

"Ah... ah, Angela." he said.

"......" he was then silent for a moment, clearing his throat again.

".........how are you feeling?" he finally asked.

"Any better?"

"Heh, you're welcome." Zeke responded. "I-" he then started to say further, before he suddenly paused, really taking in what she had called him.

Babe.

His face turned a definite shade of light red, and he cleared his throat a little.

"I... yes. Yes." he stammered.

"We'll find out who's doing this." he went on, trying his best to get the colour in his face back to normal.

"And I'll stop them right in the act."

"Oh, hi Angela." Zeke said when he noticed her.

"Well, I fixed the door again, as I said I would." he told her. "But then the handle got messed up." he said. "So I fixed it. And then the hinges got broken. AGAIN." he went on.

"So I fixed it again, and now I'm installing a sort of security system to watch over this door." he continued.

"It's clear that someone is deliberately doing this, and it's targeted to you. I... can't remember if you mentioned that to me before, but it's painfully obvious to me at this point." he then said.

"So I'm going to catch them in the act and put a stop to this once and for all." he vowed.

Ryker looked towards Eke, surprise and shock in his eyes.

"You... you WANT to talk to him?" he asked.

"Are... are you sure?" he asked further.

Eke made it apparent that he wasn't fooling around with this, so Ryker just sighed.

"....very well, then." was all he said.

He then leaned his head down, and was engulfed in a black mist for a brief second, before sitting back up and looking at Eke, his eyes that recognizable red.

"...yes?" he asked.

As it turned out, Angela was going to be home longer than she had planned.

Hal had warned her that if she had returned to work earlier than a week of time away, her pay would be docked accordingly. This, of course, irritated her immensely, and she would probably have words for him when she DID return.

Harsh words.

But she was still home after 4 days, and when she had come downstairs to take a small break and get a drink, she noticed Zeke seemed to be installing some weird device on the doorframe of her front door.

"Hmph." he muttered.

"That should do it." he said.

Take as much time as you need. And get as much of that paperwork done while you're doing so.

See you when you come back. was the last email that Sharp had sent.

So now she had sick days to take, and a lot of electronic paperwork to get done.

And she had an archangel there to tend to her needs and wants... overall, one could say she had it made.

"Hey Angela?" she then heard as Zeke knocked on the door.

"Your tools are in the usual place, right?" he asked.

Zeke just nodded in response.

"All right." he replied.

He then left the room, shutting the door behind him, just as Angela got another email from Sharp.

Oh, and if Zeke says that I assigned him to make sure things run smoothly there, and to stop you from returning to work, he's telling a half-truth. I was going to have someone check in on you from time to time, yes, but he insisted on it being him. And I mean he INSISTED upon it.

Poor guy seemed like he wouldn't have been able to sleep at night if it wasn't him. it read.

Zeke just rolled his eyes.

"Greaaaaat." he said.

"One of THOSE schools." he muttered.

"Fair enough." he then said with a sigh.

"Oh, and yeah, I'll fix your front door again, if I haven't said that already." he told her further.

"...after I get that room straightened, that is." he continued.

"But probably after I bring Liv home."

Zeke just sighed.

"Well, the last part was more of a joke." he said.

"The primary reason IS to make things easier for you." he told her.

"But all right... I'll go and straighten it up." he went on.

"And I'll make sure I'm ready to pick up Liv." he said further.

"She have any food allergies?" he then asked.

"Just so I know when I'm making up food for you and her." he reasoned.

"Oh, neither of us were expecting you to put me up for the night." Zeke responded.

"Because of my mana teleporting, I can be here and gone in an instant." he said.

"And hence why the reduced availability for me." he went on.

"But... I mean, if I won't be a bother, I can temporarily take the room you say is available..." he continued, scratching the back of his head a little.

"Yeah, just... we didn't mean for you to assume that you'd need to shift your life around for this..." he went on, clearly feeling guilty about the misunderstanding.

Zeke nodded.

"Sure thing." he replied.

"I'll make sure Sharp knows." he said, before pausing.

"...though that probably won't be necessary." he then mumbled.

"I'm on reduced call/availability for the duration you're down for the count, so to speak." he told her. "Sharp wanted someone here to make sure things go smoothly around the house for you." he explained.

"And to make sure you don't attempt to sneak back to work." he added with a laugh, showing THAT part was a joke.

Zeke nodded in response.

"Sure thing." he replied.

"Just let me know where to pick her up, exactly, and all the fine details." he told her.

"Oh, and how should I get her home?" he asked.

"Would you prefer I use a vehicle, or is mana transport acceptable?" he asked further, before pausing for a moment.

"And if mana is acceptable, will I need to find an appropriate place, so nobody sees it?"
