Again, Aly giggled.

"Well, we can take a nice peaceful walk." she suggested.

"We can go to a nice little bistro that I know of. They have wonderful paninis." she went on.

"..." she was then silent for a moment, before she snapped her fingers.

"Oh!" she exclaimed.

"Right, I have something for you." she told Eke, as she started to rifle through her shoulder bag.

Lindsay just smiled as Anna started to eat.

"...this place seems like a nice place." he told her.

"...the people here seem... nice... as well." he went on.

He then paused for a moment, and sighed.

"How are you feeling?" he then asked her, changing the subject.

"You look a lot better than before." he commented.

Lindsay was silent, and just looked away slightly.

"...I know..." he said.

He then handed her the container he had.

"Here." he told her. "Food." he said further.

"Like... actual cooked and prepared food. With fresh fruits that we couldn't get before." he told her further.

"...if you want them, that is."

"I... well..." Lindsay stammered.

"One of them... was like us." he said.

"He was used... abused... by Miss Vanessa." he told her.

"I could tell... he was... he had venom in his tone when he spoke about her. He spoke about horrors that we went through... as if he went through them." he went on.

"And... and I was at the end of my rope..." he then admitted.

"I didn't want to lose you, Anna." he told her, sounding near-tears.

"I didn't want to be left alone in this world."

Sharp just sighed as well.

"I see." he said.

"The boy seems a little more receptive, though." Jake then commented.

Meanwhile, Lindsay just sighed as he walked closer to Anna.

"A place they call 'The Unit'." he told her.

"You... you were dying, Anna." he then said. "I wasn't able to do anything. But a couple of people showed up, and... I felt I could trust them." he went on.

"...well... one of them, anyway." he then added.

Aly chuckled when she heard that.

"A good long sleep is always nice." she said.

"And you look really nice. You look a lot better than last we met." she then commented.

"I've been looking forward to this." she then said.

"I could hardly sleep last night due to excitement." she admitted further.

"A crossbreed?" Sharp asked.

"....of what?" Jake inquired.

"A Draydin and a Lantha." was the response that Angela gave.

This seemed to cause Jake to go silent.

"...I was unaware that that was even an option." he admitted. "Not because of genetic compatibility issues, but... don't those two races hate each other... a hatred which spanned countless centuries?" he asked further.

"That's a story of manipulation and cowardice." Sharp told him.

"But even still, a hybrid of those two species is... almost unheard of." he commented to Angela.

"And the fact that she's bound to such a human form raised a lot more questions." he added.

"They're victims of Vanessa Encrae." Jake then said.

"...excuse me?" Sharp asked quietly.

"Yes. They are." Jake confirmed.

"The boy's name is Lindsay. And Encrae did forceful genetic recombination on him, forcing different DNA to be mixed with his own." he explained.

"And no, I don't know what animal." he quickly added.

"...oh, and he's a Fyrane." he then said.

"........I see." Sharp responded after a pregnant pause.

The man just sighed.

"My apologies." he said.

"But I have questions." he told her.

"SERIOUS ones." he went on.

"I know there are new people here. I know they are here in the medical wing." he said further.

"Can I get more information on them, aside from the very brief messages I got earlier?" he asked.

This time, Aly had beat him there.

She was sitting at one of the tables, and saw him come in.

She smiled and waved to him.

She almost called out to him, but stopped when she realized she would be too loud.

With that, she merely smiled and waited for him to approach her.

Lindsay watched as she left, and Jake looked at him.

"All right, kid." he said.

"Go and see her." he told him.

Lindsay nodded, before stepping inside the room.

"Anna?" he asked, closing the door behind him.

Meanwhile, Jake heard a voice call to him.

"Jake! Need to talk to you and Angela, stat!" it said.

"Sure thing, boss." Jake responded.

Lindsay smiled back at Peyton.

"Same to you." he said.

"See you later, Peyton." Jake told her.

With that, she left, and Lindsay finished his food.

"Come on." Jake said. "Let's go check on your friend." he told him.

"Can we bring food for her?" Lindsay asked.

"Heh, sure." Jake told him.

With that, they got some food for her, and made their way back to the medical wing, Jake knowing full well Angela would find them before they found her.

Jake just smiled at her softly.

"Yeah." he said.

"That's about it." he told her, as Lindsay returned with more food... most of it being some of the spiciest stuff the cafeteria had to offer.

"Woah, like the heat there, kid?" Jake asked, noticing this.

"Uh-huh." Lindsay replied.

With that, he grabbed one of the stuffed spicy peppers and popped it into his mouth, whole.

When he made his way downstairs, he saw that Ryker wasn't home. But there was a pizza box on the kitchen table, with a note on it. Inside the pizza box was half a meat-lovers pizza, presumably for him.

At work, Eke.

Remember your date at 7 tonight, at the bookstore.

You'll be gone before I get back, but I'll be home before you get back from your date with Aly.
