".....Vicki isn't Vicki?" he asked.

"What do you mean?" he asked her, as he got to his feet.

"......." he was then silent, thinking on what was said to him.

"...a shapeshifter...?" he mumbled.

"Are they getting more sophisticated in their mana mimicking?" he wondered, before his eyes widened.

"Oh, Lord, Rowena's alone with it!" he exclaimed, quickly rising to his feet... and swiftly regretting that decision, as he almost fell back over immediately.

"...............I did." Vincent said.

"Alice..." he then addressed her, trailing off some.

"I have a question." he said.

"You're talking." he commented. "How?" he asked.

"Your mother and I were sure you were mute." he said further.

"Did something happen? Or have you been actively choosing not to speak to us?" he asked her.

".............." Vincent was silent as he heard the footsteps, the voice, as his vision started to correct itself.

"....ngh... Rowena...?" he asked quietly, before shaking his head slightly.

"No..." he mumbled.

"....A... Alice...?" he then asked.

"Alice, is... was... am I hallucinating...?" he muttered aloud.

"Your mother... check... check on your mother..." he then said.

"Go." Rene said.

"Quick." he told them.

Vincent was silent, before they hastily made their way to the teleport pads, using them to get back to the manor.

"Rowena!?" Vincent called out, as he started to rush towards where her workshop was.

"Rowena!" he repeated.

"Hold on!"

Vincent blinked a couple of times.

"Victoria, I know that your mother takes risky orders, but-" he started to say, before Rene interrupted.

"Vincent, for now, take the statement literally and seriously." he interjected.

"I have a feeling she's right." he added.

"...very well." Vincent responded, narrowing his eyes.

"Let us be off, Victoria." he told his daughter.

"I do my job, and I do it well." Rene responded.

"Come on, then." he said.

With that, the two of them left the room, and made their way to the waiting area, where she saw her father.

The man turned and looked towards them, getting up out of his seat when he noticed them, and making his way over.

"Vicki!" he exclaimed.

"Are you all right?" he asked.

Rene narrowed his eyes when she said what she did.

"Is that so." he said.

"Then you won't mind THIS." he told her.

She suddenly found herself encased in a bubble of water. It was a bit stifling, and while she could breathe, it still felt like she was at risk of drowning... but after a few seconds, it dissipated.

"Hmph." Rene muttered.

"Very well." he said.

"But you are leaving with your father." he then told her.

Rene got between her and the door, and quickly as well.

"Hold it." he said.

"We need to make sure you're not suffering any lasting injuries." he told her.

"Your father would kill me if I allowed you to just waltz out of here." he went on.

"And trust me, he'll know. He's in the waiting room."

Again, Rene was silent for a moment.

"I.... I see." he said.

"Forgive me if I'm a tad sceptical." he told her.

"It's not like I don't completely believe you, stranger things have happened in this world..." he mumbled, looking absently out the window for a moment.

"But this is a bit of a hard pill to swallow, especially when you're being as vague as you are."

".........I'm sorry, what?" Rene asked.

"What are you talking about?" he asked her.

"Vicki, hold still for a moment." he then said, checking her over.

"Maybe you got hit harder than we originally thought..." he mumbled.

"Tell me, how are you feeling?" he asked.

Rene froze when she greeted him with that moniker.

".....excuse me?" he asked.

"Jari?" he asked her.

"That's... that's not... I'm Rene." he told her.

"Not once have I ever gone by that name around you." he commented further, before looking around and narrowing his eyes.

"...how do you know of that?" he asked her quietly.

"Of course." Vincent replied, as he went to take a seat.

When her eyes opened, she saw that she was laying down in a bed. A hospital bed. The sterile ceiling looked back at her as she looked at it, and she heard some mumbling and scuffling around her.

Moving her gaze towards the sounds revealed a tall thin man with teal hair, in a white lab coat.

He noticed that she was looking at him, and looked back at her with a smile.

"Well, hello." he greeted her.

"Have a nice nap?" he asked, making his way closer towards her.

"I'd say that's correct." Vincent replied.

"Talk to you later." he said, before giving her a kiss and heading off.

Once he was ready, he teleported straight to OLA, where he approached the staff member behind the glass.

"Excuse me." he addressed her.

"I'm Vincent Remmington." he said.

"I was told that my daughter was being brought here." he added, remaining as calm as he could.

"Nothing specific." Vincent told her.

"Pretty sure we have no reason to panic, though." he then said.

"Because I know you, Rowena. Do NOT start to panic over this." he told her further.

"I will let you know what I know, when I know it." he assured her further.

"For now, just continue with what you were doing, and I will call you when I have more information." he continued.

"Besides, if it were something truly seriously, we'd have both been contacted." he then added.
