Vincent didn't say anything to her in return. He merely remained silent as she spoke and then left... and remained silent afterwards as well, pondering the fate of Vicki.

Meanwhile, at the guild, she heard a response from the speaker just beside the door.

"If you're a hunter, state your codename." the person said.

"If you are a client, state your name, business, and confirmation password." they added.

"....go, then." Vincent replied.

"I'm going to... I don't know what." he told her.

"I... there's nothing I CAN do." he realized.

".....Vicki..." he said quietly.

"......" he was then silent once more, as he continued to stare at the ground.

Vincent just seemed to be staring at the ground while she said what she did.

".......Rowena must never know of this." he mumbled.

"She'll go crazy. She'll lose control." he murmured further.

"All this... this is not good..." he went on.

"Don't even know what you mean about him trying to make everyone equal, but since it's ultimately ended in THIS situation, it's nothing good."

".....and Vicki is stuck in YOUR hell." Vincent commented.

"....fantastic." he said, sitting down absently.

"My daughter is stuck in a hellscape of a future, where she will more than likely die, and there's nobody there that will help her." he mumbled.

"This is wonderful." he continued.

"Never thought THIS would happen today."

"Lab?" Vincent asked.

"I think it's somewhere in New Zealand?" he said.

"At least, that's where he says it is." he went on.

"He's also asked that people not go there." he continued, before pausing.

"You think the root of it all is there?" he asked her.

Again, Vincent was silent, as Vic said what she did.

He then reached forward and accepted the orb, the mana absorbing into him.

Once it did, he froze for a moment, seeming to be lost in her memories. However, he was only lost in them for a few minutes, before returning to reality.

"...good heavens..." he said in a hushed tone.

"How...? How could Lindsay cause such a thing...?" he wondered.

"Well, as I said, it'll be very hard to find him." he told her. "Nobody knows where he goes, and any attempts to find him generally fail, mana or not." he went on.

"...no idea how long he'll be gone, either." he admitted. "But these generally last about a month or so, and he disappeared a week ago. So he'll be away for another few weeks, at least."

Vincent raised an eyebrow when he heard her say that.

"....oh?" he asked.

"The apocalypse?" he asked her.

"....and it's Lindsay's fault? I assume you mean Lindsay, as you said you need to find him." he went on.

"So what, exactly, do you mean by 'apocalypse'?" he then asked her further. "Lindsay doesn't strike me as the type to release the Bringers." he commented.

Vincent shook his head for a moment.

"Excuse me?" he asked.

"You put Vicki in direct danger!?" he exclaimed.

"And... Lindsay?" he then asked.

"Firstly, good luck with that." he said. "Lindsay's gone off on another of his self-imposed sabbaticals, where nobody can find him or contact him." he told her.

"Secondly, care to explain as to why my daughter is in such danger?"

Again, Vincent was silent, and inspected the ball of mana.

"....this is unmistakeably Vicki's mana..." he mumbled.

"Wait... the future?" he asked.

"You are a time traveller?" he asked her.

"But how far?" he asked further.

"And how does that even work? Did you switch places with her?"

"..............." Vincent was silent for an extended moment, before he called Rene.

"Prepare to receive my wife." was all he said.

After another couple of moments, he made Rowena disappear in a small whirlwind, and the two of them were alone.

"Now, then..." he said.

"Who are you?" he asked.

"Vicki would never speak to me like that, nor would she ever refer to her mother in such a way." he commented.

"So how about telling me who you are?"

Vincent narrowed his eyes at his daughter.

"....you've developed an attitude suddenly." he said.

"But very well." he muttered.

With that, he disappeared in a small whirlwind for about 15 seconds, before reappearing with the plants she had requested.

"Here." he told her.

"You somehow seem to know what you're doing."

Vincent immediately used his mana to teleport down to the two of them.

"Rowena!" he exclaimed.

"Damn it, damn it, damn it." he cursed.

"This doesn't look good." he mumbled, looking at his injured wife.

"She needs to be taken to OLA. Stat." he said further, before looking at the other one that was there.

"And what, exactly, are you doing?" he inquired.

Vincent watched her go off, and raised an eyebrow.

"...today has been a very strange day." he said.

He then took a moment, breathed deeply a few times, and then sighed.

'Right.' he thought. 'I should check on Rowena. Or at least, her workshop.' he told himself. 'See what the damage is, anyway...' he reasoned.

He really hoped that Rowena was all right. Usually she was fine after things went bad in her lab, but the warning from earlier made him unsure this time. So he steadied himself, made sure his vision was all right, stopped his brain from rattling, and made his way to where his wife's lab was.

Or used to be, depending on what he would see.

Vincent looked at Alice confusedly.

"Right, something is going on here." he said.

"Vicki is acting strangely, Rene was being weird and mysterious, you're saying this about Vicki, you're actually TALKING..." he listed off, before pausing and sighing.

"That last one is probably unconnected..." he mumbled.

"But I'm fine." he told her.

"Just rattled."
