Vincent was silent as he heard what was said, and then sighed deeply.

"I am making my way to OLA now, and will stop by the school later for details." he told them.

"Thank you." he finished, before heading to where his wife was.

"Rowena?" he said through the closed metal door, knocking on it.

"I have to go. Seems something happened with one of the girls, and I need to find out what's going on."

The hiding spot that she found seemed to do the trick.

Various things were flying around her, barely missing her, and smashing into other mages, as she saw the wind users seem to dissipate into thin air, their mana being syphoned off.

However, there was one thing she failed to notice.

In her vigilance to keep out of the way of everything, she got a little tunnel-visioned on the Freaks... and didn't see the good-sized rock headed straight for the back of her head.

Which connected solidly with a sickening thud.

Her answer came quickly, and it was not an answer she liked.

The answer was 'no direction was the best'.

Unfortunately for her, the next Freaks that showed up were the Wind Freaks, and they were causing a violent windstorm to erupt all around the area.

And while it didn't affect her mana... she noticed that certain pieces of terrain... like rocks and such... were being picked up in the wind, and being thrown around.

The group immediately froze when they came face to face with the fire Freaks.

"NO!" one yelled.

"RUN!" another shrieked.

However, it was too late... for the fire users, anyway.

The Freaks began their attack before the mages could react, and they felt their [so damn redacted it's not even funny, trust us, it's gruesome] mana syphoning away from them, and into the nondescript bodies of the Freaks.

Once the mana had been completely taken from the mages, the Freaks seemed relatively satisfied... but the remainder of the group seemed to be petrified with fear.

The entire group froze as well, when the screech was heard.

"..............change of plans." the leader then said.

"RETREEEEEEEAT!" he yelled.

The group then, in a panicked frenzy, ran away from her. Ran away from the guild. They just... ran.

They wanted to get away from the Freaks.

Survival was key now. It was the only thing on their minds.

The group stopped when they were blocked off, before looking back at Vic.

"....GET HER!" the leader yelled.

"If we're going down, she's going down WITH us!" he declared.

With that, they all started to charge towards her, building up whatever mana they had in them. They then all launched it at her in a barrage of different elements.

Wind, fire, water, electricity, it was all coming for her.

The leader narrowed his eyes, before looking in the distance.

"Come on!" they yelled.

"Let's go!" they ordered.

"The Freaks are coming, so we're storming that building!" he said further, as they all started to run towards the sanctuary.

"It's us or them right now!" they declared.

"And we're not going to die!"

The leader jumped in shock and surprise when Vic threw the fireball, and managed to barely dodge it... though it did end up scorching their back.

"What the hell!?" they exclaimed.

"What was THAT kind of power!?" they asked.

"And the Freaks can't sense you!? With THAT mana!?" they exclaimed further.

"BULL! That is BULL! The Freaks will want to devour you!"

The leader narrowed their eyes when Vic said all she did.

"Hmph." they muttered.

"Is that so?" they asked.

"So you're immune from being detected by them, is that is?" they asked her. "So you're big and special now, are you?" they asked further.

"You are nothing more than a thorn in everyone's side right now." they went on.

"And thorns are to be BURNED!" they yelled, before hurling an orb of fire at her. It was... considerably stronger than most fire people could conjure up, but far weaker than the era she had grown up in.

"Boss, maybe we should get out of here." the follower then said, before the leader smashed them in the back of their head with a fist.

"Silence." they snarled.

"All we need to do is direct them to the sanctuary." they said.

"Let them and the assholes inside fight, and when they lose, we scoop in and finish them off." they explained further, before looking back at Vic.

"But first... we deal with THIS one."

The band of rogues immediately looked at her quickly and sharply, and readied themselves to fight.

"You!" the leader growled.

"This time you'll pay!" he snapped, before one of his followers spoke up.

"Us?" they asked.

"WE'RE the reason?" they asked further.

The rogues froze when they heard the screech.

"....b-b-boss...?" one mumbled.

"Th-that.. that w-was..." they stammered, before the leader snapped.

"Shut it!" they yelled.

"Keep quiet and still!" they ordered.

"We need to see where it's going! If it's coming this way or not!"

The group continued to make their way forward, before one spoke up.

"There it is." they said to the leader, pointing to the guild.

"The sanctuary. The ONE safe place in this miserable wasteland." they said further.

"And soon it'll be ours." another commented.

"WE deserve it."

"I agree." Sorrel responded.

"We need to get our defences ready." he said.

"...and quickly. There's no telling how close these bandits are already." he muttered.

"For now, I need to go and get the plants ready." he said further.

"Talk to you later." he finished, before leaving the office.
