"........okay." Ashley replied.

'I can't stay here.' he thought.

'Mother might come looking for me. If she finds us, there will be trouble. Miss Riverkia doesn't deserve that. Same as if Mistress or her followers find us.' he thought further.

'And my flames might be super dangerous to her... if I cause a more intense burn, and there's no more of those plants around, who knows what could happen?' he then wondered.

That's when he decided he would leave. He would leave during the night. He would leave a small note, as he was at least taught to read and write, and leave. It was what was best. He was of a cursed bloodline... he needed to leave. For her safety, more than his.

-Years and years later, somewhere in Europe-

'Need to feed... need to feed...' the man thought, as he skulked the foggy streets of London, keeping his head deep inside the collar of his large black flowing coat, with a matching black top hat to cover the top of it. He then shook his head, and slapped his cheeks lightly.

'No! Keep it together!' he told himself.

'It's been a while, but keep it together! It's late enough, you're sure to find a-' he started to reason, before something came to his attention.

A smell. A scent. An odour. One that was absolutely tantalising and irresistible to him.

He looked around quickly and frantically, before identifying the location of the scent. A second story flat with an open window, and a soft light glowing from within.

At that point, something took hold of him. All inhibitions left him, and he scaled the building by hand, latching onto the sill of the open window, and leapt onto it, so he could look inside, the light now illuminating his pale complexion.

Ashley sighed again.

"Just... nightmares of my memories." he told her.

"Mistress... Miss Encrae... my brother... the pain..." he went on.

"How he's still trapped..." he muttered guiltily.

"And I'll eat anything." he then said, quickly changing the subject.

"I like all food a lot."

".....I don't think I can sleep." Ashley amitted.

"Just... no." he said.

"I'm scared if I try, I'll see the nightmare again." he admitted further.

"So... maybe just food." he sighed.

"What are you thinking?" he then asked her.

"....sorry again." Ashley then apologized.

"I mean... I know you said you can't die and all, but the soul thing is something I don't know about." he told her.

"I can't remember exactly what I was told, just that my mana's bad for people's souls." he went on.

"So... I figured it'd be best to treat it quickly, lest something really bad happens." he then reasoned.

"But... that... that should do it."

Ashley took the mint and shredded it into tiny pieces, which he spread out over the wound. Once he did so, he took the Blue Aloe leaves, and squeezed them as hard as he could, causing a clear viscous liquid to drip out, over the mint. Once they were all covered, and the bun coated, he wrapped the weed around her arm, bandaging it.

"There." he said.

"That should do it." he said further.

"Keep it like that for about 24 hours. The burn should go away by then."

After about 20 minutes, she heard Ashley returning hastily. He had a small handful of the mint, and quite a bit of the aloe. He ran over towards where she was, and set the plants down in front of her. He then looked around, before pulling some long, flat weeds out from the pond water that they were close to.

"All right." he said.

"I need to do this quickly." he muttered.

"Can you hold the arm out, burn up, please?" he asked her.

"I'll go and get them." Ashley said, rising to his feet.

"They need to be applied a soon as possible." he told her.

"And we only need a little bit of the mind." he then said.

"The aloe is the big one." he went on, seeming like this had been something that had been drilled into his mind.

"I'll be right back!" he finished, before quickly running in the direction she had told him.

"....Blue Aloe." Ashley responded.

"Blue Aloe and Diamond Mint." he said.

"Mix them and put them on the burn. It should go away." he told her.

"Do you have them?" he asked.

"Or... do you know where to GET them?"

"......." Ashley was silent as Reveka asked her question.

"...she's not here, right?" he asked.

"We're alone?" he asked further.

"We are." Reveka replied.

"Then I'll be ok. For now." he told her.

In his mind, though, he was still filled with guilt over what he had just done.

"We... we should fix the burn." he said.

"I was told my flames can hurt a soul." he told her. "Or... something like that. Maybe it was something else. I don't know." he admitted.

Ashley continued to cry and sob for a few more seconds, before he latched onto her.

"I'm sorry..." he said quietly.

"I'll find a way to fix the burn." he told her.

"I'll make it go away." he said further.

"Just... just please don't be mad." he begged.

"I'll do whatever I can to make up for it."

"....I had a bad dream when I slept." Ashley replied.

"Mistress... mistress found me." he said.

"She came looking for me." he went on.

"She found you and me, and she took you, and said you would suffer, and said it was my fault, and-and-and-" he continued, but he couldn't say any more.

It just devolved into him sobbing.

Ashley looked at her, his eyes still watering.

"But.... B-but..." he stammered and hiccupped.

"Look... L-look at your arm." he said.

"It's b-burned r-really b-badly." he stammered further.

"You... you said you're n-not hurt... b-but won't that b-be trouble?" he asked her.

"M-my flames are supposed to be r-really dangerous..."

Ashley was now crying, as he shook his head.

"No!" he exclaimed.

"It's NOT ok!" he said.

"I shouldn't have attacked you! I shouldn't have been so jumpy!" he exclaimed further.

"Please! I'm sorry!" he apologized, falling to his hands and knees.

"Please don't punish me! I promise I'll be good!"

Ashley still looked panicked for a moment... before he seemed to return to reality.

He then immediately looked horrified, and withdrew his hand.

"Oh my gosh!" he exclaimed.

"Oh no! Oh no! I'm so sorry!" he apologized.

"I hurt you! I'm sorry!" he said further seeming to be panicking again.
