Hal sat down, and looked around, as he felt the walls strengthen.

"Hmmm." he mumbled.

"Just some water." he said.

"And that staff is truly a wonder." he then commented.

"I can feel its protection."

Sharp looked at the door out, before looking back at Hollie.

"Ah, yes." he said.

"Right you are." he commented.

He then took her hand again, and nodded.

"All right." he said.

"I'm good to go." he told her.

Hal was faring better than Hollie. He could hold his liquor a lot better than she could... and that was truly saying something. That being said, he was still feeling it, much like she was.

"Hm." he mumbled.

"Let us retire to your home." he suggested.

"This day's been so nice already, a shame to end it so quickly." he reasoned.

"Besides.... time away from our work is good. We should make the most of it." he then added.

".............." Sharp was silent as he heard that.

"Right." he said.

"My drink can wait." he commented.

"Upon hearing THAT description, how can I pass up something so intriguing?" he asked with a laugh.

"I think I'll try that one first, ass well." he said further.

"I am nothing, if not adventurous." he finished.

Sharp scratched his chin when she said that.

"Oh-ho." he chuckled.

"Very interesting." he said.

"Then let's see if he can't make a Risen Two-Fold Zombie Cocktail." he commented. "And make it a Tough one." he added with a confident smirk.

"Been a long while since I had one of those. Made well, anyway." he said further.

"What about you?" he asked. "What are YOU getting?"

Pierre just laughed at Hollie's joke.

"Enjoy it!" he called to them, as Sharp followed Hollie to the VIP room.

"This seems like a very nice place." he commented.

"Friendly... and elegant. For a pub, anyway." he added.

"So what sort of drinks are we aiming for here?" he then asked her.

"Because I warn you... I can hold my liquor." he laughed.

Sharp just smirked.

"Let's do it." he told her.

"I'm perfectly fine with going to a VIP room." he said.

"And hello to you, Pierre." he then greeted the bartender.

"Hello to you as well." the bartender replied.

"Good to see you seeing someone, Hollie." he then said to the head of the Council with a smirk and a wink.

Sharp just smiled, and started to follow her out of the alley.

"Ahhh, excellent." he replied.

"And that's too bad." he told her.

"One would think that you'd have a friend that could take the position for a bit." he said.

"Don't you have a lawyer friend, and a psychologist friend?" he asked her, referring to Kalin and Lindsay.

"Surely they'd be able to take over for a day or so."

b]"Really?"[/b] Hal asked as he approached her.

"Well, I can understand that." he told her, accepting her hand.

"But nobody?" he asked further.

"Nobody to fill in at all?" he asked her.

"One would think you'd know at least one other person with organization and leadership skills. That could at least fill in for you on the odd day." he said.

Hal shook his head.

"Nope." he replied.

"The Unit can function just fine without me." he told her.

"The right people know where I went, and if an absolute earth-shattering emergency happens, the right people know how to contact me." he reasoned.

"So I am ready to go right now." he finished, as he closed the shutter to the garage, turning on the light as he did, so they weren't bathed in darkness.

He then pushed the button on his keychain, which locked the car doors and windows.

"All right NOW I'm ready to go." he corrected himself.

"The scenic route, it is!" Hal then declared.

And so that was the route he took, he drove for almost a full hour, before they reached his comfortable three-bedroom home. He pulled the car into the garage, and turned off the vehicle.

"Right then." he commented.

"I can shut the garage shutter, and we can mana in privacy." he told her.

"What'd you think of the little impromptu tour?" he then asked with a light chuckle.
Posted in When Life Just Goes Right Posted 6 years ago
"Very well." Hal replied.

"We'll take the vehicle back to my home." he told her.

"Get it safe and secure, and we can privately mana to Wales in the backyard." he reasoned.

"Plus, you'll see more of the city." he then continued.

"I can take the scenic route, too." he offered.

"I was feeling generous." Sharp chuckled as they left the restaurant.

"So." he then said.

"We going to head straight to the bar?" he asked.

"Or should we take the car someplace first?" he asked further.

"Either works for me."

Hal raised an eyebrow when she made her suggestion.

"Oh-ho." he said.

"Sounds like a plan I can get behind." he told her.

With that, he took some bills out of his wallet, and put them down on the table, as their server approached with the bill.

"That should more than cover it." he told the female.

"Keep the change."
