"Damn it all!" he cursed, as he found himself getting more lost.

"This can't be happening!" he shouted.

"I can't be lost here! And I can't have lost Callie, already!" he exclaimed.

"....nnnngh..." he grunted, as he stopped and felt his frustrations reach a boiling point.

Then he let it all out with a loud scream of frustration, and also a massive pulse of his nature magic.

The young Wood Elf froze in place when the air around him changed as drastically as it did.

".........." he was silent as he scanned the area around him.

"The hell was THAT?" he asked, and received silence in return.

"....Callie...?" he mumbled.

"Was that...? What the...?" he wondered aloud, before looking to the ground.

"Something happened." he said.

"But what?" he wondered, as he closed his eyes and tried to get a read on the area and situation.

As she got closer and closer, she saw that the thing in question that was giving off the glow.

It looked to be a seed. A giant seed, a little larger than her head. It had many roots sprouting out from it, and they were all burrowing into the soil around her.

And that's when she noticed it was moving.

Pulsing.

In time with the beat that she was hearing.

And every time it pulsed, something seemed to flow through the root system into the soil, and the glow it gave off increased for that fraction of a second.

It was almost like watching a heart beat, but in nature. It was mesmerizing.

As she walked, she heard nothing. It was absolutely silent around her.

However, as she continued to walk, she did notice that the darkness surrounding her seemed to be getting thicker and thicker, as well as more oppressive.

But she swore she suddenly heard something that spurred her onwards.

A thumping... a rhythmic thumping.

Almost like... a heartbeat. And it was echoing all around her, but could clearly be heard originating from straight ahead of her... and slightly to her right.

Adam was silent as he watched a wall give way.

"........I see how this is..." he growled.

"Divide and conquer." he muttered.

"And you've forcibly divided us." he said further.

"All right, I'm going to find Callie, and I'm going to save this shrine." he declared.

"Callie! I don't know where you are, but I'm going to move forward, and see if I can't find some way to get to you!" he then called to the air.

With that, he started to slowly inch forward, proceeding with caution, and being on the lookout for anything else odd. Or any sign of Callie. At all.

".....the hell...?" he mumbled, looking around.

"What? But I... and the... with... and..." he stuttered.

"The hole..." he went on, seeing that it wasn't there.

"Where!?" he exclaimed.

"CALLIE!?" he yelled, getting on his hands and knees.

"CALLIE!" he exclaimed further, trying his best to communicate with the flora around him for info.

"Ah!" Adam exclaimed, as he tried to grab her arm... but caught nothing but air.

"CALLIE!" he called down into the darkness... but only his echo answered.

"Callie, can you hear me!?" he asked.

"Hang on!" he said.

"I'm coming down!" he told her, as he started to grow a thick vine out of the ground nearby.

".......Callie..." Adam muttered.

"Something's... off." he told her.

"More so than usual." he said.

"There's... the air is changing... somehow. I can't explain it." he continued, before narrowing his eyes.

"Be ready for anything."
Posted in Frosted Sprouts Posted 7 years ago
Adam nodded.

"Right." he said.

With that, he balled his hand into a fist, and punched the ground. Instantly, thick vines shot out at an angle towards the frozen wall, shattering it into tiny shards.

"Let's go!" he told her.

"We'll barge straight on through, and get to the roots of this!"
Posted in Frosted Sprouts Posted 7 years ago
Adam quickly retreated, and readied himself for something.

"Let me know if you need me." he said.

"I'm ready with vines to punch through the walls." he told her.

"That is, if it's necessary." he then added.

After that, he wrapped his arms around himself, and started to shiver slightly.

"Oh, man..." he mumbled.

"You are GOOD at making things cold."
Posted in Frosted Sprouts Posted 7 years ago
"I'll be fine." Adam replied.

"I was able to get a general fix on the direction of the shrine." he told her, gesturing to a part of the wall.

"Callie, we may need to just barge on through." he told her.

"Use your ice powers to make things brittle, and I can break through with some plants I can grow." he explained.

"I think we may be long past worrying about destruction of sacred ground." he then went on.

"We already killed the guardian, we may as well go all the way here."
Posted in Frosted Sprouts Posted 7 years ago
Adam was silent for a moment, before he placed his hands on one of the walls.

He then closed his eyes, and seemed to be communicating with them... before large thorns spontaneously jutted out from the wall, sending him flying back, with cuts on his arms.

"....these are not sacred." he told her.

"They are corrupt and evil." he said.

"And the longer they stay here, the more damage they do to this sacred ground." he then reasoned.

"Callie, we have to get to the shrine... post-haste."
Posted in Frosted Sprouts Posted 7 years ago
".......yep. I saw that, too." Adam replied.

"Looks like this path is cut off from us right now." he told her.

"I suppose we ought to-" he continued, as he turned around... only to see another wall of plants erupt from the ground, walling THAT part off.

"....NOT go this way." he mumbled.

"We MIGHT be in a maze now." he commented quietly.
