"I get the sense he's been burning by a djinn in his past." Hal said.

"And... well... yeah, djinn's are... not nice." he went on.

"I'm a rarity." he admitted.

"But all we can do is wait and see." he told her.

"It was nice of you to come, though." he added.

"Yes, true." Vincent replied.

"Still. It's disheartening." he sighed, as he finished making the dressing.

"And finished." he said.

"Here you go." he told her, handing her the bottle.

Meanwhile, Hal just sighed and looked at Rowena.

"He's a handful, isn't he?" he asked her.

"It has been so long." Vincent sighed.

"I just... wish I could speak with them again." he lamented.

"I have so much to say, so much I want to hear." he went on.

"But I guess they just don't want to speak with us." he said quietly.

"Not even Emelie will speak to me about them."

"Hm." Vincent muttered.

"I.... maybe." he said.

"I've not considered it." he told her.

"....hey, Hollie." he then said.

"You ever think about Mother and Father?" he asked her.

"Wonder how they'd feel about where we are?" he asked further. "As in, status and health and all that." he then clarified.

"........." Vincent was silent as Hollie said what she did, in the tone she did.

"...right." he said.

"I.... right." he repeated.

He was then silent, and sighed quietly.

".....this dressing..." he then said, trying to change the subject.

"Magma Raspberry extract in it, or no?" he asked, in relation to the vinaigrette for the salad.

C'mon, people, this needs more exposure!

".....mm." Vincent muttered.

"I see." he said.

"I admit, I am surprised." he commented.

"One would think that djinn would have moved on by now." he said.

"Then again, a target such as yourself is very tempting." he added.

"....stubborn nut, indeed." Hal muttered to Rowena, having heard what Vincent said.

"All right." Hal replied.

"Things have been steady at work." he said.

"And Hollie has been wonderful." he added.

"Oh, I've been okay." Vincent said to Hollie, not hearing the conversation in the den.

"Been keeping busy in my study." he went on.

"So, have you gone single again?" he then asked her.
Posted in When Life Just Goes Right Posted 6 years ago
"Well, I'll help with dinner." Vincent said.

"Sorry, Rowena." he called to his wife. "But this way we'll get to eat a lot sooner." he reasoned.

With that, Hollie directed him to what needed doing, so he started to get it done.

"So." he said.

"How have things been?" he asked.
Posted in When Life Just Goes Right Posted 6 years ago
"Ah, fair enough." Vincent responded.

"Well... I suppose I'll leave you be." he then said.

"You don't need me hanging around and getting in the way." he commented.

"Unless you want any help." he then added.

"Otherwise, I'll make my way to the den." he finished... which was where Hal was, and Hollie knew it.

Vincent smiled dreamily.

"Mmmm, divine." he said.

"It smells just as I remember." he commented further, before looking at his sister, and smiling.

"I forgot you had the recipe." he told her.

"You almost never make it." he said.

"This a special occasion?" he asked with a light chuckle.

Vincent seemed to freeze where he was.

"Oh.... oh my..." he said.

"This aroma..." he mumbled.

"Hollie... you didn't..." he then said to his sister.

"This smell... is it...?" he asked, trailing off some.

"Mother's casserole?"

Vincent looked at her, and smiled.

"All right." he said, going over towards her.

He wrapped his arms around her waist, and gently pulled her close.

"Let us be off." he finished.

With that, the two of them disappeared in a small whirlwind, appeared right at the front door of the Remmington manor.

Vincent nodded once more, before pressing the doorbell.

"Ah, right." Vincent replied.

"Makes sense." he said, as he finished getting dressed.

"All right, I'm good to go." he told her.

"I'm going to head to the den and wait, as we're supposed to leave in about 10 minutes." he said.

"Come get me when you finish." he added, as he stretched out and made sure his hair was all set and done right.
