Vincent was silent as that was said.

"Perhaps the Purple Barbed Strawberry?" he asked.

"Might be handy." he said.

The strawberry in question DID taste more like mint... but there was a big issue with it. It was known to be poisonous to specific species on the planet.

Notably, ones that were born of mana.

Like djinns.

"But of course." Hal replied.

"..." Vincent was silent.

"So, Rowena." Hal then said, addressing Rowena.

"How's your sister?" he asked her.

"Haven't heard from her in a bit. She all right?" he asked further. "Or is she caught up in finding ingredients for new teas?" he inquired.

Hal just chuckled.

"She certainly knew how to cook, then." he said.

"She knew how to do more than just that." Vincent interjected quickly.

"She was a wonderful woman, and her talents dwarf a great many people I know and have known." he said further.

"I do not doubt that." Hal responded.

"Mm." Vincent mumbled.

Vincent was silent, but then nodded.

"Mother's casserole was... certainly something special." he said.

"She rarely made it, and it was usually reserved for special occasions." he went on.

"Understandable." Hal chimed in.

"This is truly some of the best I've ever tasted." he said.

"...mm." Vincent mumbled in response.

Hal just smiled as the food was dished out.

Vincent was silent as Rowena said what she did.

"Well, Hollie doesn't care about histories." he said.

"For better or for worse, for wiser or for more foolish." he went on.

"She trusts very easily." he continued.

"...sometimes TOO easily." he added.

Hal and Rowena looked at each other, before they made their way to the table as well.

When they sat down, Vincent seemed to shoot a glare at the djinn, before looking towards Rowena.

"Well, then." Hal commented.

"Shall we begin?" he asked.

"......." Vincent was just silent, seeming to be holding his tongue.

But his eyes were judgemental.

Hal and Rowena looked over at Hollie when she made the announcement.

"Smells divine." he commented.

"Let's go." he told Rowena.

"...." he was then silent, before sighing.

"I assume Vincent knows." he said to Hollie. "Is probably taking it as expected." he muttered further.

"Where is he?" he then asked her. "He at the table, or elsewhere?" he asked further.

Hollie knew where he was. Sitting at the table. Waiting. Waiting for... a couple of things. And his expression was a blank one, with disapproval behind his eyes.

"..........." Vincent was silent in response.

"Mm." he mumbled.

"Very well." he said.

He then grabbed the dishes, cutlery, and glasses, and began to set the table.

"...should have known." he mumbled to himself.

"Was too good to be true." he muttered further.
Posted in When Life Just Goes Right Posted 6 years ago
Hal just smiled in response.

"Thank you." he said to her.

---

Vincent nodded when Hollie said what she did.

"Of course." he replied, picking them up. As he did, he noticed something.

"Hollie?" he addressed his sister. "Why are there 4 plates?" he asked.

"I mean, there's yourself, me, Rowena..." he went on, before trailing off some.

"...wait..." he muttered.

"Don't tell me..." he mumbled, looking over towards Hollie.

This cannot be buried! Not yet! I WILL UNEARTH THIS FROM THE DEPTHS OF PAGE 2!

Ok, but seriously, here's a little bump to keep this in public eye.
Posted in When Life Just Goes Right Posted 6 years ago
Hal just sighed in response.

"Indeed." he replied.

"And yes, she told me a little while ago that she felt the same way." he told her.

"We compliment each other nicely, I think." he said.

"Much like yourself and Vincent."
Posted in When Life Just Goes Right Posted 6 years ago
Hal just smiled.

"Hollie is wonderful." he told her.

"She... she just... how can I put this...?" he wondered aloud, thinking about it.

"For the longest time, I'd been living with a gaping hole in my life. But I learned to ignore it." he said. "Hollie showed me that that hole was still there." he went on.

"And she filled it." he said further.

"My life feels... complete." he then told her.

"And it's the best feeling in the world."
Posted in When Life Just Goes Right Posted 6 years ago
"Neither do I." Hal responded.

"But all we can do is try." he said.

"So, tell me." he went on.

"How have things been for you?" he asked her.

"Life been going well?"
