"Well.... maybe, maybe, not." he replied.

"Part of my powers is that... time doesn't really function the same for me." he told them.

"It's hard to explain, but there's a chance I may just... disappear... from the world altogether." he muttered.

"Not knowing for certain is the worst..." Jackson commented.

"But I'm willing to take that risk." the man declared.

"....his life." her friend responded.

"Every time I use my power, time gets taken off my life." the man told them.

"I have just enough left to send you two back to before this all started." he continued.

"And if one student comes to Hank with such a story, he might not believe it. But two students? That's suddenly more credible." he then reasoned.

"...makes sense..." Jackson said quietly.

"But yes, I can take you back, so you can stop this from even happening." the man finished.

"Your souls. Your minds. Your consciousnesses." the man replied.

"I will send them back, and they will replace the you's in the past." he told them.

"....really?" Jackson asked.

"Really." he replied.

"But what happens to our past selves?" Jackson asked.

"They disappear into nothingness." the man replied.

"And this timeline will disappear as well."

"....Hank was a very close friend of mine." the man responded.

"And... my niece attended that school." he continued.

"She didn't survive the attack." he told them.

"....oh..." Jackson mumbled.

"Indeed." the man replied.

"I want her to survive. I want Hank to survive. I want the progress in mutant/human relations to continue."

The men were silent as she went to get Jackson, and when the two of them were in the room, the new one spoke.

"I'll get right to the point." he said.

"I can send you back in time." he told them.

"....I'm sorry?" Jackson asked.

"Yes." the man replied.

"I can take you back to before the attack on the school." he confirmed.

"Sierra, this is my friend." her friend replied.

"He's the one that can help us." he told her.

"But I don't-" he went on, before the new person interrupted.

"I do." he said.

"If she can change things, I'll gladly do it." he went on.

"Please. Come sit. We have much to discuss." he told her.

Seeing as this question's been adequately answered, I'm locking this topic.

Both the men looked over towards her when she spoke up.

"Sierra!" her friend exclaimed.

"So." the other one commented, folding their arms over their chest.

"THIS is your saviour, is she?" he asked.

".....kind of." her friend mumbled.

"She's... half of it." he said.

"I see." the stranger exclaimed.

She saw the male in the room with her friend.

And her friend seemed to be in distress, with the other figure standing over him.

"No!" he exclaimed.

"You can't!" he said.

"I will." the figure responded.

"And there's nothing you can do to stop me."

"Really?" Jackson asked.

"Huh." he muttered.

"I'm coming with you." he then told her.

"Just in case something happens." he reasoned.

He then sighed, looked around, and poked his head out, listening.

"Doesn't seem to be anyone else here. Too quiet for there to be." he commented.

"I cannot." Jackson replied.

Sierra then saw the figure stop at the door to the morgue, down the hall.

They looked around, seeming to be paranoid, themselves, before they disappeared into the room.

"What's going on?" Jackson asked, as he finished getting dressed.

"Do we need to intervene or run, or what?"
Posted in Changing the Future Posted 7 years ago
Jack had just gotten his pants on, when Sierra returned.

"What!?" he whispered.

"Crap... that's not good." he said.

They heard the footsteps approaching them, but they went past, and continued on.

"...sounds like they're headed to the morgue." Jackson commented.

"Or at least in that direction."
Posted in Changing the Future Posted 7 years ago
"See ya!" Jackson called to her.

When she left, he sighed, and continued to dry himself off.

As Sierra headed down the hall, she swore she heard something.

Footsteps. Ones that were headed her way.

And from the opposite direction of the morgue.

Jackson was silent as he heard that.

"Uh... yeah, true." he said.

"Yeah. We will." he agreed.

He then sighed, and shook his head.

"Sierra... for real... it's awesome to see you again." he told her.

"I... the end of the world may come, but as long as you're with me, I'll fight it." he said.

"I'll fight to the bitter end."
