The one that had caused her the pain was holding a gun-like weapon, and it was still pointed at her.
"Now..." he said.
"Now is the time for humans to do what we should have done a-AAAAAAGH!" he started to say, before it turned into an outright scream of pain.
That's when she noticed that another student was using their powers to encase them in ice, starting with their back.

Jackson looked at her, and nodded.
"All right, go." he said.
"EVERYONE THIS WAY!" he ordered.
"COME ON, MOVE IT! FOLLOW THESE PEOPLE HERE!" he said further, gesturing in the right direction.
"NOW GO!" he ordered further.
With that, people started to hastily move into the shelter areas, with Jackson continuing to bark orders and commands.

"AH!" a student yelled.
"NO!" another shrieked.
"We're gonna die!" another one exclaimed, this one close to Jackson.
Jackson responded by smacking them down with his fist.
"SHUT UP!" he yelled.
"IF WE PANIC, WE GET IN THE STAFF'S WAY!" he told them.
"THE STAFF ARE TRAINED IN MUTANT AND HUMAN WARFARE! WE NEED TO BELIEVE IN THEM." he went on, showing a hint of innate leadership.
"SO LET'S ALL JUST GET TO THE SAFE AREAS BEFORE WE REALLY ARE DEAD!"

Jackson was silent as he saw this.
"Uh... right." he said.
They then proceeded to make their way through the hallways, to the designated shelter areas.
"...we'll be okay, right?" they heard a student ask another.
"What's gonna happen?" they heard another ask.
"....all good questions..." Jackson mumbled to himself.

"....it seems so." Jackson responded.
"We need to get to the designated safe-zones, yeah." he then agreed.
With that, he got to his feet as well, and they started to make their way out of the cafeteria.
"...never thought this would happen..." he admitted.
"I don't think any of us did." he then muttered.
"Especially Denise." he added, seeing the person in question, who seemed to be petrified with fear.

"Yeah, that's what I was thinking, too." Jackson agreed, looking around and narrowing his eyes.
"We're not the only ones that noticed it, either." he said.
"A LOT of people are looking uneasy." he went on, looking at the students in the room.
Suddenly, one of the school's sirens started going off, and they heard a staff member's voice over the P.A. system.
"Attention all students! We have a Code 36-A in progress! This is not a drill! Please make your way in an orderly fashion to the designated safe zones!" they announced.
"....no..." Jackson said quietly.
".....we're under attack."

"Ah, Skyline." Jackson replied.
"Sounds good." he said.
"Love that place." he told her.
He was then silent, and looked around a few times.
".....hm....." he mumbled.
"Something seems... off..." he said.
"Can't put my finger on it, but... something just seems... not right..."

"Nngh." Jackson muttered.
"Damn." he said.
He then sighed, and shook his head.
"What theatre, anyway?" he asked.
"I'm good with any of them." he told her.
"Except Grand Coliseum." he then said further.
"Damn racists..." he growled, in reference to them not allowing known mutants on the premises.

"Not that he'll admit it." Jackson replied.
"He's a living conundrum." he told her.
"Can I be there when you corner him?" he then asked. "He'll get all flustered and it'll be hilarious." he said with a bit of an antagonistic chuckle.
"But seriously, though." he then went on, his tone changing.
"We ARE still going to the movie this weekend, barring extenuating circumstances, yeah?" he asked.

Heath was silent for a moment, and his face turned red.
"Uh! I... I mean..." he stammered.
"Well... that is... if... if you... uh, well..." he stammered further.
"Suremaybelaterreallygottagoby!" he then spat out, before hastily heading off.
"..............mmhmm." Jackson muttered.
"Plain as day."

The young male, Heath, seemed to clam up suddenly.
"Uh?" he stammered.
"I..." he stuttered further.
"I... uh, well... I mean... it... it was... good..." he said.
"I mean, I... well... I did... I think I did... like... all right..." he went on.
"How... how about... you?" he then asked her.

"Eh, true." Jackson agreed.
He then sighed, and popped some grapes into his mouth.
"Oh yeah, and I still got that two-for-one pass for the movie." he said.
"So it's on me." he told her.
"What's this? A daaaaaaate?" a nearby young male asked.
Jackson was silent for a moment, as his face turned slightly red... but he then faced the one that was teasing them.
"You know, your ribbing would be a lot more effective if it weren't for the well-known fact you're jealous and lonely." he retorted.

"Oh yeah, I heard about that." Jackson replied.
"Not big on romantic comedies." he said.
"But I DO like zombies..." he admitted.
"Eh, sure." he then said.
"I'll give it a shot."

Jackson thought for a moment when she asked her question.
"Hmmm..." he mumbled.
"Well... there's that new flick about that rich brooding hero guy that dresses in a black costume and stuff, and seems to have serious parental issues." he told her. "I hear it's better than the previous entries in the series." he said.
"There's the other hero flick about that alien that comes to earth and has those overpowered abilities, but they somehow keep managing to pull some stupid contrivances to make him weak, and screwing up his character development." he went on.
"Or there's that horror flick about the black sludgy monster that takes over people." he continued.
"Beyond that... just stupid comedies and such. Anything you're up for?" he asked.
As the time went on, Jackson and Sierra had been spending more and more time together... and he didn't mind one little bit. In fact, he was more than happy that things turned out this way.
