Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

"Calls aren't a hassle." Leo assured her. "I just sent a text so it would be convenient for you to reply whenever you could." he explained.

"And oh?" he then asked.

"Something wrong?" he asked her.

"Generally speaking, that phrasing generally means that something isn't exactly peachy at the moment." he reasoned.

"Everything ok?"

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

A couple of minutes after she'd muttered to herself, her cell chimed with a personalised message for texts.

"Incoming message from Leo." it said.

She pressed the button to have it read off to her.

"Hey Lunet, I have some tech I would like you to try out. When can you meet up to try it out?" it read off.

my little jokes on thee...

"Heh." Leo chuckled.

"It really IS a lot better than before." he said. "We're more efficient, more organised, and the big boss is SUPER pleased with what we've been doing." he told her, figuring she'd know who he meant.

And even if it skipped over her... no biggie. Either person it could refer to was good.

"Also doesn't help that I... well... time for me is kinda... blurred at times." he then admitted.

"There's a reason Nakia's had to forcibly pull me away from a project a few times... after... 24+ hours of straight working on it..."

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Leo looked at her, almost stunned for a moment, before he smirked. And giggled. But it then turned into a hearty laugh, which lasted for a few seconds, before he forced himself to calm down.

"I suppose we really don't talk much, do we?" he asked rhetorically.

"I haven't been stressed about that for a few years now." he told her. "The systems have been fully integrated, and things are running more smoothly than they ever had in the past." he revealed.

"Perhaps we should stay in touch more often." he said further, with another small chuckle.

"Sorry, I can get bad about updating friends about such things." he apologised. "...well, friends that KNOW about the Order, anyway." he clarified.

"I barely talked to her for 10 minutes and I feel the same way." Leo responded.

"There's just something about her that's... instantly likeable." he said.

"Maybe it's her perseverance through her hardships. Maybe it's her upbeat attitude." he went on. "Maybe something else entirely, but probably a combination of it all." he chuckled.

"Whatever the reason, yeah, I like her." he told Kiah.

"Glad she game me her contact info." he said further.

"...because I am NOT the sort of Order member to invade dreams to speak with someone I just met." he mumbled. "Even if I were in charge of her dreams, which I am not. Same with Ty. Hence my not knowing about her." he reasoned with another laugh.

my little jokes on thee...

"Stranger things have happened in this existence." Leo shrugged.

"But yeah, I really think I'm going to try and help her." he said.

"See if I can't set her up with some better tech options, to start." he chuckled.

"Maaaaaybe send her some experimental products to test and then say she can keep them." he went on.

"Whatever can make her life a little easier."

my little jokes on thee...

As they walked, Leo looked at her and smirked.

"She's clever." he said.

"I think she has a future in software development." he told her.

"And no, I'm not telling you why I say that." he quickly teased.

"But suffice to say, even being blind, she has such a bright future ahead of her." he continued, but paused once more.

"...and maybe I can help it be just that little bit brighter."

"Saved her...?" Leo asked.

"I see. Well, whatever, yes, we do." he agreed.

"Let's get back to your department." he told her.

"I need to start checking the area for installation points and such." he reasoned.

"Get preliminary work done in terms of a plan of attack."

"It'll take a while to even begin to sort through the ideas I have, though." Leo said.

"What I'm thinking is... something that's never been done before." he admitted.

"Plus, I have other obligations in the meantime." he continued.

"Regardless, I should start thinking about it." he went on.

"Nice girl." he mused.

"Don't know how Ty and her met, but... nice girl."

He accepted the smoothie, and smirked.

"Melon and pomegranate. Works for me." he said.

"And she is a fascinating person." he told her.

"Born blind, hasn't let that get in her way AT ALL." he continued.

"...but now I wonder..." he then mumbled.

"I wonder if I can work a miracle..."

my little jokes on thee...

Leo chuckled in response.

"Well, good luck then." he said.

They then said goodbye to each other, and he stepped away from her, making his way towards where Kiah was heading... but she could see it.

He was distracted.

The gears in his head were turning. He was getting an idea.

And she knew that light in his eyes. It was a MAJOR idea. A project that he was probably going to throw his full weight on.

Once again, those gears in Leo's head started to turn, but she had politely ended the conversation, just as Leo noticed Kiah was finishing up in the lunch line.

"All right then." he said.

"Was awesome to meet you, Lunet." he told her.

"Keep up the good work on AoD." he went on.

"Because damn... that's got potential to be the next big thing."

Leo accepted the thumbdrive, and nodded, though she couldn't see it.

"All right then." he said.

"I'll see what's on here when I return home." he told her.

He then paused, and smiled to himself.

"And I'll take what this teaches me to heart." he then said sincerely.

"Thank you." he said further.

"Not many people converse with me about those with various impairments, and how I can help with my technology." he admitted.

my little jokes on thee...

Leo accepted the page and looked it over.

"Perfectly legible." he told her.

"A little slanted, but nothing egregious." he assured her further.

"But all right then, I'll contact you soon." he continued.

"I'm working on a new laptop as we speak, so I think you'd be GREAT to see how it runs before it's released to the consuming public."
