Hal shook his head slightly.

"I've told her that the moment she starts to think it's overwhelming for her, tell me. I WILL step in and do what I need to help them." he said to her. "Angela's not the one on trial here, I WILL bend the rules and bend over backwards for her in this." he stressed.

"As for Ty, caught me off guard as well." he admitted.

"But I did as he asked." he said.

"I then told him that he had one last chance to back out of this, and he just had to say the word. He promptly got up and left my office." he then told her.

"Seems he's dead serious about this, Hollie."

He looked ready to snap at her... but then just sighed.

"That's probably for the best." he said.

Later that evening, Hollie and Hal were sitting in a gorgeous Thai food restaurant... of local recommendation, of course, and they were looking through the menus, when Hal looked over towards her.

"Ah, right." he said.

"Angela said she's willing to foster Lunet." he told her.

"And the first thing Ty did when he was told about how his drinking needed to stop if he was to adopt Lunet was to... well..." he went on, looking around for a moment, before leaning it.

"...he wished for all alcohol in his possession EVERYWHERE to disappear." he whispered.

"I see." Ty responded.

"Well, we can only hope." he said.

"But... I need to start working on that." he muttered. "Because I get the feeling I am going to have VERY little privacy for the next bit." he said further.

"...and I need to be careful about what I do from now on." he then went on.

"A lot of things I order are alcoholic, even if it's not in the forefront."

Ty caught the vial, and looked at it, before looking at her.

"...just 3?" he asked.

"JUST 3." Angela stressed.

Ty then uncorked the vial and let one drop... two drops... three drops, fall onto his tongue. He then paused for a moment, his eyes widening slightly, shaking his head vigourously afterwards.

"WOAH!" he exclaimed.

"That is POTENT."

"..." Tyson was silent for a moment removing his hands and letting out a VERY heavy sigh.

"Well, guess I gotta do what I gotta do." he said.

"I already wished away all my booze and walked out of the office." he went on.

"I've committed, so... might as well move forward. Nothing more than that." he shrugged.

"Anyway." he then said.

"You said you could help."

Ty looked over towards her and nodded.

"Right." he said.

He then watched as she walked past him, standing up as she did, and followed her into her office. Once they were inside, he shut the door behind her at her prompting, and took a seat in one of the chairs, burying his face in his hands.

"...I really just walked out of there, didn't I?" he asked.

"This isn't a dream, is it?" he asked her further.

"I'm REALLY giving up alcohol cold turkey for the foreseeable future..." he realised.

"Yep." Hal responded.

"...good luck." he told her.

"With... well... everything." he went on.

"After all this is done, you are getting a bonus, I am SURE of that." he then told her further.

"And get back to me ASAP about the area near the entrance being the best option for the centre. I'll have that done and running faster than anything." he promised.

Hal shook his head slightly.

"If you start to feel overwhelmed, tell me." he said.

"I'll pull as many strings as I can to help lighten the load." he told her.

"YOU'RE not the one on trial here, TY is. So there's no need for you to be stretched thinner than you can manage." he reasoned.

"So yes, tell me as soon as you think things will start to go downhill." he restated.

"You shouldn't need to suffer through this."

"Yes." Hal responded.

"Again, I am SO sorry to ask you to put more on your plate." he apologised.

"I've ran through every other person I can think of in my head, and you were the only suitable one that I could think of." he told her. "And I know that you know when Ty's been drinking. More than anyone else... save myself." he commented further.

"You'll KNOW if he sneaks a drink." he reasoned.

"And no, I don't expect him to get off of alcohol absolutely completely for the rest of forever." he then stated. "However, given the circumstances here... it's a crash course to prove he can take care of Lunet, or nothing at all." he went on.

"All we can do is see where this goes..."

"I'm not surprised." Hal responded.

"He's a good guy. Gets stuff done. One of the best agents I've ever had. But god DAMN if he's not a personal mess." he said.

"I love him like a brother, but he's been too stubborn to change his personal life. He tried it with that Miki girl, but it just didn't work. I think THAT really got him down." he said further.

"But perhaps Lunet can get his life back on track." he went on.

"That'd be amazing. For both of them. They really need stability in their lives."

"Very well." Hal said.

"...seems he's really serious about this." he then muttered.

"Never seen him quite THIS determined before." he admitted.

"I hope he does it." he said further. "I really hope he succeeds in this." he continued.

"I get the feeling Lunet might be just what he needs to get his shit together. I mean REALLY together."

"That's fine." Hal responded.

"But NO quick-fix helps." he said.

"Tyson, I say this as your boss, and your friend." he then said to Ty. "Do NOT fuck this up. If you do, then I don't see you EVER getting a chance for something like this in the future. And your standing with the Council will become even rockier." he warned.

"Yeah. I figured." Ty responded bluntly.

"Are you SURE you want to go through with this?" Hal then asked. "If you leave this office without saying otherwise, then your test period will start." he finished.

Ty didn't say anything, before standing up and making his way to the door.

"I'll be in the medical wing." was all he said, before leaving without any more words.

Hal looked at her and narrowed his eyes.

"Depends." he said.

"Please clarify your definition of 'making it easier for him'." he told her.

He then leaned back in his chair and awaited her answer.

Ty just looked to her, a little on the confused and curious side.

'...what DOES she mean by that...?' he wondered.

"Ohhhh most likely." Hal responded.

"Agent King is... infamous among the Council." he said.

"Great." Ty grumbled.

"Remember that Ms. Remmington is sticking her neck out for you as well." Hal then told him. "She will defend you and go to bat for you... so this is your ONE chance to show everyone you can be trusted to care for a child." he stated.

"I get it." Ty responded.

"..." he then paused for a moment, thinking about it.

"Welp, looks like I have some hell ahead of me."
