Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

"Hello." Rene responded.

"We're waiting on Leo." he told them.

"And when will he be here?" Ty asked.

"Should be in the next 5-10 minutes." Rene answered.

"So." he then said.

"Nervous, Lunet?" he asked Lunet.

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

my little jokes on thee...

"Of course." Ty said.

He then proceeded to grab her bag, and placed it beside her against her arm so she knew where it was. After that, he took the cord in question and plugged it into a socket that was near her, running the cord up and draping it over one of the steel guards that were on the edge of the bed, once again, letting her feel for where it was.

"If you have any problems or issues, use the call button." Rene told her.

"It's pretty much right next to your head, so you should easily be able to find it."

great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

"All right then." Rene said.

"Yeah, you should be out of here between a week to two weeks, and then we'll contact you about your... as you said, fitting." he went on.

"All right, suppose I'll go, then." Ty then said.

"Glad you're all right." he told Lunet.

"There anything you want brought here?" he asked.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Rene paused for a moment, looking at the charts.

"At most." he said.

"If all goes well and swimmingly, a week." he told her.

"We'll see as time goes by." he continued.

"After all, this was the first surgery of its kind, so we want to make SURE things go as planned. Or... well... predicted." he mumbled.

"All I'm saying is that we want you to have the best aftercare."

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

"...I'll go home right now." Ty said with a sheepish chuckle.

"And you will get proper sleep for the next few days, AT LEAST." Rene added. "AND you will return to your life as normal." he stressed.

"Now wait just a-" Ty started to say, before Rene interrupted.

"We'll make sure you're here for the reveal on whether or not the surgery WORKED." he said.

"...well all right then." Ty relented.

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

"........" Ty didn't say anything for a few seconds.

"I, ah.... I said that out loud, didn't I?" he mumbled.

Again, Lunet sighed. Heavily.

"Sorry." Ty apologised.

"I've just been... so worried..." he admitted. "Found it hard to lay down and close my eyes." he said further.

"Which is WHY you're headed home today, to catch UP on that lost sleep." Rene interjected, having approached the door and heard the latter part of their conversation.

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Ty just smiled.

"So am I." he replied.

"But anyway." he mumbled. "Good to see you're awake and doing well." he told her.

"And I should probably go now..." he then muttered.

"Dr. Calder said I could only be here for a few minutes." he lamented.

"But now I can sleep." he chuckled.

great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

"...yeah, I know." Ty responded.

"This will be wonderful for you, if it works." he stated.

"...all we can do now is... hope. And... pray." he mumbled.

"Have faith in Leo and the doctors here." he said further.

"..." he was then silent for a moment, and gently placed a hand atop one of hers.

"For now, I'm just glad you made it through the surgery."

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

She heard Ty heave a massive sigh of relief.

"Good... good." he said.

"At least there's that." he mumbled.

"...and we still need to wait to see if this is a success or not." he then lamented.

"I hope it is. You being able to see would be... amazing."

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

"All right." Rene responded.

She was then left in silence for another minute... before she heard hurried footsteps racing towards her room... which abruptly stopped at the door. A second later, it was opened.

"Lunet?" Ty said.

"Are you all right?" he asked.

"How do you feel?"

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Rene laughed when she said that.

"Starting to think he'd wear them down." he told her.

"But sure, I'll tell him." he said.

"...normally we don't allow visitors in a room this soon after such a surgery, but for him, what is your verdict?" he asked.

"It'll be brief if you want him in here, but you CAN allow him in for a few minutes."

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

"Not long." Rene said.

"You've been out for a little over a couple of days." he told her.

"And by that, I mean you've slept, woken up briefly, were probably groggy and out of sorts, and then went back to sleep minutes later." he went on.

"So yeah, not too long." he summarised.

"But it seems like you're up... well... and you'll stay up."

...and I'll forgive thy

my little jokes on thee...

Rene chuckled.

"He was for a bit." he said.

"But we assured him that nothing bad happened." he said.

"Because nothing did." he went on.

"Things have been integrated into your head and optic nerves, and we just need to wait for you to heal before... we see if it was a success." he told her further.

"That... sort of helped him calm down."

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

After about 15 minutes of getting herself as oriented as she could, she heard the door open.

"Ah, I see you're awake." Rene said, making his way over.

"How are you feeling?" he asked.

"Any pain that is noteworthy? Anything feeling... off?" he asked further.

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.
