Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Victor looked horrified suddenly, as Hollie and Lindsay saw some Council emergency backup arrive.

"HALT!" one yelled at Victor.

"On the floor!" another shouted.

However, they paused when he didn't move, and looked horrified when his skin started to turn pale.

Quickly.

"...the hell...?" Lindsay mumbled, seeing this.

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Lindsay looked confused as she said that, and Victor seemed... a little distracted.

However, he then looked at her, and growled as he raised a hand up, and a disturbingly strong amount of pure mana started to form in it. It formed into a large orb, and Hollie k knew that if she took that attack, the chances of her survival were... low.

"I... WILL... KILL..." he started to say, but then paused abruptly.

The mana then just... fizzled out into nothing, and he felt like a bit of a dead weight on her.

Hollie knew she could probably shove him off now.

great big one on me.

my little jokes on thee...

Before he could respond, a fireball hit him in the side of the face... but it seemed like it didn't phase him at all. He looked over to Lindsay... the one that had fired the shot at him.

"...stay out of this, freak." he said.

"Get... off of her!" Lindsay declared.

"I will find a way to deal with YOU as well." Victor promised, as he suddenly stopped, and Hollie saw shock in his eyes.

"People are on their way now!" Lindsay responded, missing the shock.

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

As her mana started to bind his leg to the floor, Victor cried out in pain and cursed Hollie out. He growled at her and pooled mana in his hands, reaching down and grabbing at her throat.

"You and your damn bloodline." he hissed.

"You've ruined everything we mages should be!" he yelled.

"You even brought back the TRIAD!" he exclaimed further.

"WHY!?"

great big one on me.

my little jokes on thee...

Before Lindsay could answer, Victor blasted her again. And the force of it shook the house once more, and she could feel the barrier starting to 'crack' a little. Lindsay fell to his ass from the force of it, but nodded.

"R-right." he said.

"I do know how to do that." he told her.

And then, before Hollie could acknowledge that, Victor raced for her, aiming to ram into her and tackle her to the floor.

"You can be cryptic all you want, it won't help you." Victor told her.

"I WILL destroy you. Right here and now." he said further.

That was when Hollie heard rapid footsteps coming towards her from behind... and she knew who.

"What was THAT!?" Lindsay exclaimed.

"This whole place SHOOK!"

great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Victor just laughed out loud... in a maniacal sort of way. But it was subtle. It could have been misconstrued as 'excitement' in the heat of the moment, but there was definitely something more to it.

"In the vault!" he told her. "The one in the back of the larger vault!" he continued.

"When the band and the belt are combined, they give the wearer the strength to rule over an entire NATION!" he declared.

"And you thought you could hoard them for yourself." he then said further, suddenly calmer.

"I will use these to wrest control from you, and bring the Council to its former glory." he explained.

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

"I will make you disappear, Remmington." Victor replied.

"You are unfit for the Head position!" he declared. "We TRIED to oust you peacefully, but you JUST WOULDN'T TAKE THE HINT!" he then yelled.

With that, the bracelet and belt started to glow once more, and he pulled his arms back. Once he did... and literally just as Hollie's fingers touched her staff, he fired a massive blast of mana towards her.

"JUST DISAPPEAR!" he yelled.

"NEVER DARKEN THE COUNCIL'S DOORSTEP AGAIN!"

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

He narrowed his eyes at her when she said what she did.

"I have." he said.

"Ever since that day, I've thought about what you and that damned mutt did." he growled, as she saw a golden yellow light glowing from underneath his shirt, where he belt buckled would be.

Then, before she said anything, he uncrossed his arms from behind him, and she saw a silver bracelet on his left arm, which was glowing now as well.

"It's time I did what should have been done SO long ago, and take control of the Council!" he yelled, pulling a mana-coated fist back and throwing it towards her chest.

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

"Never you mind." he responded.

"I assume you know that Justin is now in the process of being incarcerated, more than likely set for death." he said.

"And Edward has been demoted all the way down to nothing more than a mere gopher for literally EVERYYONE." he continued.

"Remmington, the foundation of the Council is crumbling." he told her.

"And you do NOTHING about it?" he asked.

"WHY!?" he demanded.

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

my little jokes on thee...

"Cool!" Lindsay responded back.

Not 15 seconds after that, her doorbell rang. She made sure that things would be fine for a moment, before quickly making her way to the door and checking to see who it was. She was unpleasantly surprised to see Victor, but opened the door.

And there he stood, hands folded behind his back.

"...Remmington." he greeted her curtly.

"It seems so." he responded, before shaking his head.

"And snacks?" he asked, rising to his feet now, too.

"I'm feeling a little peckish, so... yeah, sure." he said.

"And no, I don't think I'm feeling like having anything in particular." he quickly told her. "Whatever you have is fine." he said. "But you know me. I DO like my spicy foods." he admitted with a laugh.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

He looked over towards her, and cracked his back slightly.

"Some ice water would be lovely." he told her.

"Feeling a little on the parched side." he admitted.

"Anything that will quench a thirst, essentially." he added with a light chuckle, as he shelfed some books on the bottom of a bookshelf.

"I'm amazed you still even HAVE some of these texts." he then commented. "As interesting as 'Gnome Dueling Etiquette' is, is it REALLY something that's... well... relevant?" he asked her.

my little jokes on thee...

Hal laughed a little in response.

"Good to hear." he said.

"I hope you're doing well too, Lunet." he then said to the other girl, as Angela started to get them ready to go.

He then sighed, and shook his head slightly.

"See you all later." he told them.

"Let me know if there's anything I can ever do."

great big one on me.
