Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Nate watched her go, before sighing and heading off.

When Alicja check over Zeke, she found that... he was still out. It seemed he was just shifting or something. There was a chance he wasn't completely zonked out now, and that he would naturally wake up soon, but it seemed like there had been no change.

She made sure that that was the case, before sighing and leaving the room. Again.

But THIS time she ended up bumping into a bit of a taller man with short black hair that had blonde streaks in it.

"Oh, hey." James greeted her.

"Sup?" he asked.

great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

As soon as she stepped out of the room, she saw Nate hauling a garbage bag out of the break room, and he wiped his brow.

"Whew." he mumbled.

"Done. Finally." he said, before making his way in Alicja's direction. He paused when he saw her, and smiled.

"Hey." he greeted her, before looking at Zeke.

"Oh, he seems to be doing MUCH better." he commented, as they heard him lightly groan suddenly.

"...he waking up?" Nate asked.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Again, Nate nodded.

"All right then." he said.

"If you need me, I'll be doing the cupboards in the break room." he told her.

"I'll let you know when I'm done, or if there's something that comes up that needs looking at." he said further. "...shouldn't be too much of an issue, though." he then admitted.

"Anyway, I'll talk to you later, Dr. Edwards." he finished, before heading off to do what he'd volunteered to do.

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Nate nodded in response.

"All right." he said, handing her the clipboard in his hands.

"This has the info about what's missing." he told her.

"You follow up on that, I'll get to the cupboards in the break room." he said further.

"...sorry to bring more stress..." he then apologised quietly. "But I wasn't going to just look the other way on this. I really want to know what's going on." he reasoned.

"I'd hoped I could have done so before it came to your attention. Maybe solved this little thing so I could come to you with just a report of it, and it could be filed away." he lamented.

great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

"...oh, crap, no." Nate realised and responded. "I was caught up with something weird, and then got sidetracked on a few things." he admitted.

"Weird?" Angela asked him.

"Well, James signed off on receiving the latest shipment, and I was looking for him." he told her. "Something's off." he said further.

"Off?" she inquired.

"I've looked up and down, all around, checked ALL the boxes and crates, but we seem to be missing some Codeine." he told her. "Got 5 bottles of it unaccounted for." he continued.

"Wanted to ask if he knew anything about it." he went on.

"Beyond that, sorry, but I'll get to the break room cupboards before the end of the day." he promised her.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

"....right then." Nate mumbled.

"I'd say I hope Mackenzie's all right, but... we know she will be. Or is." he said. "Zeke's strong, but Mackenzie is... well... she's on another level. In all ways." he reasoned.

"And the fact that Zeke made it back here on his own power, and his aura isn't wonky or anything, shows nothing bad or violent happened." he then said further.

"You doing all right?" he asked her.

"I know today's been a little... hectic... to understate it."

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Zeke laid down on the bed, and she saw he looked... quite concerned. Very worried, actually. But, before anyone could really say anything more, Zeke crashed. He fell unconscious, and that was that.

He was down and out, out like a light.

And she was sure nothing was going to wake him up until his body allowed him to be woken up.

At that point, Nate approached her and looked over towards Zeke, sighing.

"Been through a lot, has he?" he asked.

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

"...kay." was all Zeke managed to get out, before shaking his head again and gathering himself.

"Right! I need to get back to the medical bay." he declared, finding a last surge of strength.

He then left Mackenzie's dorm, and walked through the halls, making his way back to the medical bay, his strength finally starting to REALLY go as he stepped into the opening area... where he saw Angela waiting for him.

"...heh." he chuckled weakly.

"I made it back." he told her.

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Zeke nodded in response.

"Yeah..." he said.

He then stepped towards the door, pausing and looking back.

"...should I try and get word to the archangels?" he asked.

"Should they know?" he asked further.

"I'll try and do so... before I crash."

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

my little jokes on thee...

He looked at her and nodded.

"Yeah." he said.

"The archangels." he told her. "I'm sure they already know, right?" he asked.

"I mean they'd HAVE to, yeah?" he asked further.

"...or is that the necromancer half of me being sensitive to your presence here?" he wondered.

He then paused and shook his head a little, the effects of what Angela gave him starting to wear off.

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

"Hm. I see." Zeke responded.

"Then I'll do everything I can to hel-" he started to say, before he froze.

"...I can't help..." he realised.

"I'm going to crash soon. VERY soon." he remembered, looking at Mackenzie.

"I'll tell my Dad." he told her.

"...unless he already knows. He probably does..." he then mumbled.

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Zeke crossed his arms over his chest, thought for a moment, and nodded.

"Yeah, that's fair." he said.

"We would be the best place to help with that..." he admitted.

"Sorry about... uh... the first impression." he then apologised. "But I was... kinda panicking." he explained.

"...still kinda am, but for different reasons." he mumbled.

"I really hope we can help you. Existence itself seems like it lies in the balance."

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

my little jokes on thee...

"...I see." Zeke replied.

"Then I'll do all I can to help." he told her.

"I'll tell my father and his siblings." he went on.

"We need heaven AND hell working on this." he continued, before pausing.

"Wait..." he mumbled.

"Does your soul... or your partner's... even follow the rules of souls and death?" he asked.

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Zeke paused when he heard that, and his eyes widened.

"Wh-what!?" he asked.

"Wait, the Elders and... and, uh... the other side..." he went on. "Can't remember their name..." he mumbled.

"They're going to go to war!? Here!?" he exclaimed.

"Oh no... and there's nothing that can be done to stop that." he said, his tone filled with hopelessness and despair.

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.
