Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Zeke paused for a moment when he heard that... and started to think. He thought hard about that phrasing, and why it started to ring bells of familiarity within his mind. Mackenzie saw him thinking about it, too, narrowing his eyes noticeably, and rubbing at his chin.

"...worlds are crashing..." he repeated.

"Wait, my Dad mentioned something like that once." he remembered.

"I... don't remember much about it, though." he admitted.

"Except... and he used this phrase exactly... that 'existence itself would become a battlefield'." he recalled.

Zeke was stunned at her response. He... wasn't sure what to make of it.

"I..." he stammered.

"Wait, wait, hold on, hold on." he said.

"Was?" he asked.

"Why are you here? What's going on?" he asked her.

"Is there some sort of invasion that's going to happen?" he then asked further.

my little jokes on thee...

He staggered back a little when he felt her presence, and almost buckled, before shaking his head and collecting himself. He looked at Mackenzie, narrowing his eyes slightly, and carefully stepped through the door, watching her as she closed it.

She then turned around, and he continued to hold her gaze.

"...the hell is going on?" he asked.

"You are... far stronger than Levi and Rebecca." he told her.

"...you're one of THEM, aren't you?" he then asked her suspiciously.

"I... I don't know." Jackson replied.

"He seemed ready to just... I don't know, but I didn't like it... and then just ran off after you gave him the information. Seemed... really grateful for it too, if that HUG was anything to go by." he went on.

"This place is... weird." he then commented. "Just when I think I've seen it all, something like THIS happens." he finished, shaking his head.

While they spoke of the encounter, Zeke literally ran towards the dorm that he had been told, coming to a screeching halt at the door and knocking on it rapidly and continuously.

Zeke was silent for a moment, before he suddenly grabbed her by her shoulders. However, as started as she was at first, she could see he wasn't trying to hold her or hurt her or anything.

"Where is she? Where is she staying!?" he asked her.

Becca managed to get Mackenzie's dorm number out, before Zeke merely... hugged her in response.

"Thanks!" he exclaimed.

"Gotta-go-BYE!" he finished, before letting go and rushing out.

"........." Jackson was silent for a moment, before looking at her.

"Okaaaaay. Didn't expect THAT..." he admitted.

Zeke paused as he realised she was right, and almost punched the wall.

"Damn it!" he cursed.

"The HELL is going on with you!?" Jackson exclaimed, causing Zeke to look sharply at him.

"I can sense THEM." he shot back.

"But Levi isn't the source, and Rebecca isn't!" he said further. "So I don't know WHAT the hell is happening right now!" he told him.

Before Jack could properly react or respond to that, Zeke was there. And making his way purposefully towards Rebecca. He gently but assertively pushed Jack out of the way, and looked RIGHT at her.

"You." he said.

"Answer me this." he told her.

"Are THEY acting up?" he asked. "Are they trying to take you over or shouting at you or anything?" he asked further.

"Now hang on, you KNOW that's a sore spot for-" Jack started to protest, but Zeke interrupted.

"I don't care, this is important." he snapped.

Jack laughed a little when she said that.

"Yep." he said.

"I think she should be easy for you." he told her.

"I get the feeling that after about a half-hour with you, she'll be spilling the beans like a clumsy chili cook." he said further, before shaking his head a little and smiling at her.

"Hey, wanna go see a movie sometime soon?" he asked.

"That deep-sea horror flick starts at the end of the week." he suggested.

Levi shook his head.

"Naw." he replied. "Pretty sure Zeke has enough on his plate and in hid mind already. I think he'll realise just what happened later and properly apologise." he assured her.

"For now, I'm just going to get back to leaving and heading back home." he chuckled, wondering if Zeke's behaviour was related to Mackenzie.

Meanwhile in the Interrogation department, Jackson approached Rebecca and handed her small disk containing a video/audio recording of a previous session that hadn't been done by her, and was being shifted to her.

"Here you go." he said.

"The results from the latest individual." he told her. "Seems like they're being a stubborn nut to crack."

Zeke looked to Ally and was about to answer, before he shook his head.

"Where's Rebecca!?" he asked Levi.

"Uh... probably in the interrogation department." Levi responded.

"Cool, thanks." Zeke replied, looking at Ally again.

"Bad feelings. On a time limit. Gotta-go-BYE!" he said to her... before dashing off again.

"..." Levi was silent for a moment, looking to Ally.

"He's a bit panicked." he commented.

Zeke shook his head a little, and looked to Ally to answer her, before seeing Levi. And, before anyone could say anything, he grabbed Levi by the shirt in what could have been misconstrued as a threatening manner, and looked him in the eyes.

"Are the Elder's trying to take you over?" he asked.

"Wh-what?" Levi asked.

"Are the Elders trying to take you over!?" Zeke asked again, this time more forcefully.

"No! No, they're not!" Levi responded.

"Are they loud or screaming or anything?" Zeke then asked further.

"They were, but they're mostly silent now." Levi told him, causing the archangel nephilim to release him and brush his shirt off a little, smoothing out the wrinkles slightly.

Levi nodded in response.

"That's what I was planning." he said.

"I'll take a cab home, so don't worry about me." he told her. "When I get home, I'll text you to let you know I got there." he finished.

With that, they shared a quick kiss goodbye, and he made his way to the exit... just as Zeke literally rammed into him, causing him to go flying onto his back, and Zeke to stumble back against the wall.

Levi then hit the floor with a thud and a groan.

Zeke froze for a moment when she said that.

"Then-I-have-to-hurry-BYE!" he said hastily before literally running off, leaving Angela... rather confused.

Meanwhile, Levi had just finished with everything on the computer, and sighed contently.

He pushed away from the desk and made his way over towards Ally, tapping her on the shoulder again. When she took her headphones off once more, he handed her a thumb-drive.

"Here." he said.

"Some finished drafts that need your expert revisions when you get the chance." he told her.

"Also, I reserved us a table at Riverside Rivera for 8:45 tonight."

Zeke accepted vial and drank the liquid within, recoiling slightly after.

"Ugh, bitter." he said.

"But thanks, I feel energised and clear." he told her.

"And half and hour?" he asked. "Cool." he said.

"I'll be back before then."
