"Damn it." Hal cursed.

"That's it." he said.

"The two of you, gather what you need." he told them, almost ordering them to.

"I am personally taking you back to the Unit, myself." he said further.

"I'm making a call to have a place cleared out for you." he continued. "One of the dorms, specifically."

Hal jumped a little when they heard that.

"That was a woman's scream!" he exclaimed.

"Yuki!" Kaia yelled.

The two then rushed to where they'd heard it from, with Kaia leading the way, and Hal preparing for anything at this point. He had NO idea what had just happened, but he hoped she was okay.

He'd promised they would be protected.

Hal nodded and placed a hand on one of her shoulders.

"I know." he said.

"For whatever reason, though, I HIGHLY doubt they're dead." he told her.

"Just... something inside me is saying they're... well, they're not dead." he muttered. "I don't know how else to put it." he admitted.

"We'll find out what happened, though. I promise."

"I see." Hal said.

"I'll have to ask them more about themselves for the file." he told her. "Just to get full disclosure." he reasoned.

"But... I promise we'll take care of you all." he then said further.

"I'll make sure you're all safe and sound." he promised.

"And then we'll get to the bottom of this."

"Hmmm..." Hal mumbled thinking about it.

"I can most definitely arrange for mana transport." he told her. "I would just need to know if there are any methods that would be disagreeable with anyone here." he said. "What elements or alignments to avoid and such." he clarified further.

He then sighed quietly as Kaia mentioned about the shows that they had to cancel and refund.

"I would imagine that this financial setback is quite stressful, yes." he then said.

"Though, do you have nowhere else to go?" he asked. "In terms of lodgings, that is." he continued. "I know The Unit will be the safest place for you all, but is there more to it than that?"

"It is absolutely something we cover." Hal assured her.

"Whatever this is, it's not natural. Or, rather, it's not for the public at large to be aware of." he mumbled.

"But at the absolute very least, we'll make sure you all are safe." he told her. "Our primary goal is to find out WHAT this is all about." he went on. "And ultimately, find out what happened to the rest of your company." he added.

"I'll get some agents out here to investigate this place." he then told her, before pausing.

"I assume you'd like to be out of here ASAP. Meaning nighttime tonight?" he asked, knowing she'd mentioned something about that beforehand, but was seeking clarification/confirmation.

"Yeah." James said.

"Let's go, Yuki." he told the other woman.

"The sooner we get this done, the better." he reasoned.

"Indeed." Hal chimed in.

"Kaia and I will iron out a few details while you're doing so." he told them.

James hung his head a little.

"You have a point." he said.

"However, leaving the continent might not guarantee we're free of it." he told her. "We don't know what this is. For all we know, The Unit is the only way we have to rid ourselves of whatever this is." he reasoned.

"We'll discuss that when the time comes." Hal interjected.

"For now, we'll have you reside in temporary lodgings in our on-site dorms."

James just sighed again.

"Yuki, let's not already start thinking THAT." he said. "I'm fairly certain not EVERY theatre in the US has this issue." he told her further, before shaking his head and looking at Hal.

"She's a little... fatalistic at times." he explained.

"Given what I'm feeling, it's not surprising for her to." Hal responded.

"But how many people have gone missing?" he asked.

"7 others. Over the course of a week to 10 days." James told him.

"Let's discuss this further and arrange transport for you to the Unit." Hal then said.

Hal nodded in response.

"I do." he replied.

"Ever since I first stepped in here." he commented.

"I feel like I'm being watched. From all directions, somehow." he told them. "Yet I see no way for that to be a thing." he went on, as James shook his head slightly, and sighed.

"I cannot smell anything, either." he told him. "And when a lycan can't, that's bad." he reasoned.

"I agree." Hal told him.

"For now, we need to prioritise your safety."

Her voice echoed out into the auditorium, but that was not what caught Hal's attention. Immediately, he knew SOMETHING was there. He could just feel it. The sense of not being alone, with... something... around. He felt like he was being watched.

'...and they've been living with this for too long, I am guessing.' he thought.

He then looked forward, to see a male and female appear from behind one of the curtains. The male waved towards them, before gesturing for the female to follow, which she did. They met near the front of the stage, and Hal nodded to them.

"Agent Hal Sharp of The Unit, San Diego branch." he introduced himself.

"James Timber." James responded, as the two shook hands.

Sure enough, after a minute or two, she saw Hal's familiar form step out from across the street, from a nearby alley. He crossed the street and looked over towards her when they locked gazes, and headed right towards her.

"Ah." he said when he saw her.

"It's YOU." he commented, much to her slight confusion.

"Your interpretation of Mrs. Lovett was remarkable." he complimented her. "But now is not the time for such things." he then said.

"I'm here to speak with you, and those that remain here."

"Yes, that would be helpful." Hal responded, before grabbing a pen. He then wrote down the address she gave him, before getting a few other details. Once that was done, he nodded to himself.

"I shall be there in a few minutes." he told her.

"You'll be looking for a bald male in a business suit, wearing sunglasses." he informed her.

"If you are unsure as to whether or not it is me, yell out the phrase 'Hey look, a fox!'." he said further. "I'll shall respond by immediately looking skyward." he continued. "I realise this sounds nonsensical and unnecessary, but give the nature of this situation, ambiguity is best." he then reasoned.

"And if there is nothing else, I shall be there very soon." he finished.

Hal just nodded as Kiah left, before calling the number she'd given him.

"Yes, am I speaking with Kaia Remmigton?" he asked when it was answered.

"...I go by Fyrane, but yes." was the response.

"Ah, my apologies." Hal replied. "But I am Agent Hal Sharp of The Unit in San Diego." he introduced himself. "Your sister has told me you are in need of assistance." he went on.

"Would you prefer to come here to discuss it, or have myself go to where YOU are?" he asked.
