After a few seconds, Zeke showed up with a couple of bags packed as well.

"You good?" he asked.

"Yeah." she responded.

"So am I." he said.

"Just need to make sure nothing's left to be turned on, which I did already... and all the doors and windows are locked." he mumbled.

"If you want to grab a bottle of pop or something from the fridge, do it, and we'll go."

Zeke paused when he heard that.

"Huh?" he mumbled.

"Disturbance?" he asked.

"I... admittedly, don't know what you're talking about, but if I were a betting man, I'd say you're right." he told the one that had spoken to him.

"But yeah, just... we'll be away for a bit." he continued.

"...and I'll tell Angela you're feeling a disturbance about."

Zeke nodded in response.

"Ten minutes." he said.

"Be in the den in 10." he told her further.

He then headed back downstairs, looking around, and then going to the back door, opening it and looking around.

"...hey." he said to... seemingly nobody.

"According to Angela, her, myself, and Liv will be spending an extended time at The Unit. No, I do not know how long, or why, or anything. I just know Liv and I are leaving in 10 minutes, and I'll get more info there."

"...got it." he responded, before they ended the call.

He then made his way to Liv's room, knocking on the open door.

"Hey, Liv!" he said.

"We gotta get moving." he told her.

"Mom says we're taking an extended vacation at The Unit, essentially." he went on.

"And I get the feeling she wants us there ASAP."

Zeke looked confused for a moment, raising an eyebrow.

"Eh?" he muttered.

"Bring her here? We're all stuck here?" he asked.

"I mean, sure thing." he answered her.

"But why?" he asked.

"Or is this an 'act now, talk later' scenario?"

I am sorry to hear that...

"...damn." Cain muttered.

"Fair point." he said.

"Yeah, celestial WOULD be too strong." he then admitted, scratching at his chin a little.

"Hmph." he grunted. "If pure isn't an option... we might be able to use less of this chemical, add a little more lightning mana, and increase the sodium here. That MIGHT give an equally positive reaction." he told her.

"Won't be the same, but it might be a workaround."

Cain paused for a moment at her statement of Lunet dying and staying dead, before nodding.

"Yeah." he said.

He then looked at the notepad, and immediately seemed to be drawn into it.

"...wow." he mumbled.

"...there's... no, you already tried that..." he muttered. "And... well, no, that's... but then there's..." he murmured further, his brain kicking right into overdrive for this.

"Well, what about using pure aligned mana here, as opposed to tainted?" he asked her, gesturing to a specific part of the notes.

He then stepped inside and rattled off what had happened to Lunet, and everything else that had occurred, right up to the point of him coming here.

"...so here I am." he finished.

"I need to distract myself somehow." he told her. "Whether it be helping YOU, or Kiah." he said further.
