"Probably not." Ash agreed.

"Took myself a concerted effort to quell mine." he muttered.

"Anyway, if things will be okay here now, I should probably go." he told her.

Ilias then poked his head through the door.

"...things calmed down?" he asked.

Ash crossed his arms over his chest.

"I'm fine." he told her.

"You might need to take some time off work, though." he suggested.

"Odds are you're feeling stressed and scared at the moment."

"Do what you need to." Hal responded.

The call was then ended.

"Right then." Ash said.

"That was harrowing, to understate it." he said further.

"You gonna be ok?" he asked Kiah.

Hal was silent for a moment.

"Right." he said.

"Here goes." he told her, before she heard his fingers snap.

And a few seconds later, the two of them felt Ash's rune calm down immensely, and retreat back into him.

Ash just sighed in relief when that happened.

Ash just stayed where he was, not daring to move, using all his energy to keep his rune from going haywire.

"I... I noticed." he said.

"Your own rune was getting out of control, and MINE feels like it wants to just attack all those it can reach." he commented, sweating heavily. "This is extremely frightening, to say the least." he went on.

"And you think there's something in the building doing it?" he asked.

"Any idea what it could be?" he asked her further, unease and minor panic in his tone.

"Because the sooner we fix this, the better." he told her. "It's taking all my concentration to just keep this thing in check." he warned her further.

Ilias fumbled with his phone as he got it out of his pocket, and scrolled through his contacts. However, he discovered that the closest thing he had to Ash's number was Demi's number.

So he called it and hoped she wasn't on a hunt, or would answer.

Thankfully, she DID answer it.

"Kiah's rune is threatening to run rampant!" he yelled when she answered.

"I don't have her cousin's number, but can you get him here!? Before it potentially reaches someone!?" he finished.

And within a matter of less than a minute, Ash appeared in the room with Kiah, and was surprised by the strength of the rune.

However, he immediately put out his own rune to counter hers.

"Damn it, damn it, damn it..." Ilias mumbled, wondering what to do here. Her rune was borderline out of control, and the only person that could stop a Fyrane rune... was another Fyrane.

Which gave him an idea.

"Kiah!" he called to her.

"Want me to try and get your cousin in!?" he asked, referring to Ash.

Ilias looked over towards the spreading rune, and jumped a little when he saw it.

"Ah!" he yelled, before running to the edge of the room.

He opened the door and stepped out, slamming a panel just inside the room as he did so, causing a barrier to pop up around the room.

He had no idea if it would be strong enough to hold the rune back, though.

Bast just chuckled sheepishly.

"Shows what I can do when I try." he said.

"Or... well, DON'T try." he clarified.

"Sometimes I need to hold that side of me back." he told her.

"If I'm not careful, I'll have a gang of lustful followers." he muttered.

Bast blinked a couple of times, before sighing.

"Probably." he said.

"What can I say, you pounced on me and were ready to drain me." he told her.

"So I kissed you." he said further.

"I kissed you with all my effort. I put all the passion I could muster into it, both human AND demonic."

"It's okay." Bast replied.

"I'll let your folks know you're recovering nicely." he told her.

"And we need to thank Zeke as well." he went on.

"That transport capsule he gave me came in handy." he said.

"Used it to bring you here after I... subdued you..." he told her, lightly clearing his throat.

Bast paused when he heard that.

"An avalanche?" he asked.

"...that's... frightening." he said.

"It must have come out of nowhere. Then again, they're known for that." he then admitted.

"At least you're okay NOW."

"Eesh." Bast muttered.

"That sucks..." he said. "To understate it." he went on.

"At least you're yourself again." he then commented.

"It's scary you got to that point, though." he told her.

Bast shook his head.

"Not seriously." he told her.

"A pinch, but that's about it." he said.

"What about you?" he asked.

"Are you doing all right?"
