@Wildfire: Well! congrats on the new Sauna, that sounds so nice. c: I've been dragging getting things done [paperwork] due to the pandemic because government buildings have been closed/backed up for months.
We bought our house during the pandemic and no one was available before move-in to get repairs done. So that stuff fell on our shoulders. -shakes fist at pandemic- =3= Oh well. I'm not going to dwell on what I haven't got done, or I'm just going to shut down a little and I don't have time for that. XDD
The site seems to be working fine for me [so far]. A different site I used to be a regular on, that one is super screwy. OTL omg, the owner abandoned it, so it's just going through a slow, painful death for the users that are stubbornly staying.
@Wildfire: I'm bummed I didn't explore the site years ago. It's got a great concept. I haven't even poked through the forums though. Been focusing on tasks stuff.
6-month wait?! whoah! Saunas are nice. Every time I go in one, it reminds me how little water I actually drink. XD lol How new is the sauna?
I feel ya there in the foreign music genre. I listen to Norwegian bands and every once in a while I'll actually understand the lyrics [when they're singing slower]. Speaking of which, listening to music rn sounds like a good idea.
@Wildfire: I'm okay, we had a totally lazy weekend. So I woke up realizing I need to be responsible and get things done now. lol. At some point, I need to clean and re-fill the hot tub. We emptied that on Friday and didn't come back to it.
Only 3 weeks of school for the kids left. -fist pump-
Good job on pixeling like a crazy person. c: I've been poking around the site for a bit and getting to know it.
Italian music? =o huh.

@Purpsy: Victoria Day is such an odd holiday for me to comprehend. XD lol. I'm sure you'll have a few happy neighbors blowing off fireworks. I know I am that type of person, any legal reason I can make something go Bang, I will.
@Purpsy: oh my gosh, I hope you get a nap in before the fireworks show. =O
I haven't heard of Victoria Day. o3o I think I need to do some googling. // oh, odd holiday.
Good Morning. <3
purpsy, you definitely made good use of the morning.

I just played in bed thinking about the things I need to do today, which makes me lay in bed longer. XD
@Wildfire: I'm glad you've had a good day and I hope you can relax soon. <3
I had a comfortably lazy day. I relaxed, I'm re-reading a favorite book and just.. generally in a good mood. I didn't get much done. but, my brain feels better today. :3
Yay for a mental health day.
Before I stayed home, I did well in retail management. XD I could delegate jobs, and make sales like a crazy person. My attention to detail is good in items, but I can't understand paper instructions to save my life. OTL for example, if I got a box from ikea with no picture instructions, I'd probably have a cry session before summoning my husband.

My son's schoolwork on Friday is mainly small quizzes to see if he retained the week's knowledge. Fridays are easy for him.

I'm not sure how soon I'll be re-arranging rooms, I need to lay down rules with my new/old roomie first. He's a great roommate but... [there's always a 'but' with rommates], he suffers from depression and a sleep disorder. So my husband is laying down the rules of health and help for him. We'll see if he agrees or not.
omgod! I know exactly how you feel right now. DX< We bought a printer awhile back that gave us instructions online. =3=
That's so ridiculious.
My son did school before I woke up again. Now he's done for today. XD

I think I'll head to the library later today. And I'm pretty sure I'm going to need to re-arrange bedrooms to make room for a new roommate.
@Wildfire: yeah our finances took a hard hit which is why I had my little mental breakdown this week. I'm in better spirits now.
We got a late-night text from our old-old roommate from forever ago [he lived with us for a very long time] asking if we had a room we could rent him. We could/can. That would help boost our finances, but because he lived with us for years, we'll need some pretty straightforward rules. =o
My house might feel a bit cramped for a bit. <.< but our finances would level our for a while and we could catch up on bills, get the plumbing repaired.

Lol! When I was unpacking our storage unit, I found a lot of duplicates of things we bought when we couldn't get to the storage unit. omgosh! HAMMERS! I found like 4! while I was unpacking. XD
and I don't even know where One is right now. =3=

@Wildfire: I have heard of Cathy Duffy. She seems to be the "go-to" for the homeschool community.
Well then, I will use you. lol! I'm not quite to a point where I need help yet. There are only a few weeks left of this school year. [yay and oh no] I don't know how we'll keep a schedule in the summer. XD
That playdate I briefly told you about, the one where I ended up hanging out with a Christian homeschooling group, I noticed a few of the moms paying no attention to their children at the park. One kid was bullying another and the mom who was watching her son get bullied had to intervene. The mom that intervened showed signs of fear of confrontation because she didn't want to be kicked out of the group. =;= Such an interesting hierarchy.
It was the mom who put the group together, so I imagine she has a wonderful schedule but doesn't work on her kid's learning style.
lol! When my husband can't find something, he buys another. He sees it as a good thing, got spares that way.
I need to take recycle stuff to the recycle center but it's a big chore. And we're so low on money, we can't drive the truck for another week due to gas expense. XD
@Wildfire: Thank you for the recommendation. <3 I put The Well Trained Mind in my amazon wishlist. Don't worry too much about getting me info. You can finally relax and take a break from the homeschooling stuff. I imagine it was an exhausting route to take.
I decided to send my daughter back to public school next year and keep my son home. My daughter learns much better at the hand of others. I get frustrated too easily with her learning style.
We have a lot in common then. I love philosophy [as of recently], but I did focus heavily on psychology in college, art, and literature. Marketing is something I'd like to do, but I'd rather focus on business management. That was my work history. My work history is mostly small business management, marketing, and salesmanship.
"clean up and get organized" is a good mode to be in. C:
@Wildfire: Recently, I've been on a philosophy kick. I'm trying to understand reasoning and higher education/learning.
lol, my husband and I were talking recently and he made the comment "yeah, our son is more Vulcan than I am." and I laughed, then realized he's right.
My husband is intelligent, but his childhood was a mess, so he was an angry kid. Our son has a comfy childhood and is absorbing knowledge like candy.
I've been dipping my toes in philosophy and reasoning to better understand how to educate my kids. Well, And the topic of interest helps keep my emotions at bay.
What classes have you taken? OR interested in doing? whats' your favorite topics?
