Sharp nodded.

"I understand." he said.

"As far as anyone here is concerned, you were never here." he told her.

"But please. Do what you can." he then said.

"We need to put a stop to these menaces, and we need to do it ASAP."

".............excuse me?" Sharp asked, before looking at the painting.

"This... makes so much sense." he said.

"Well, I'll tell you this much, I was never happier parting with money, than when I won that painting." he told her.

"But we can discuss that later." he commented.

"Right now we desperately need your help tracking down someone that died a long time ago." he told her.

He then proceeded to tell her the situation, and the conundrum they were in.

"So we could really use the help of the man who knows how to create these statues, in order to destroy them." he finished.

"....." Sharp was silent for a moment.

"Ah, yes." he said.

"I want you to clarify something first." he told her.

"Where WHAT one went? What are you referring to?" he asked her.

"If I am in possession of something I oughtn't to be, then please let me know." he said further.

"Cannot imagine WHAT, though..." he then mumbled, looking around slightly.

"Hmmmm." Ryker muttered.

"Easy on the throat..." he said.

"Ah!" he exclaimed.

"Some maple porridge should do the trick." he told himself as he got out of bed.

"Want me to make up some more of that tea?" he asked Eke.

Zeke looked back at Azazel as he walked off, before looking at Casey.

"...shouldn't be surprised you know each other." he chuckled.

They then arrived at Sharp's office, where she and Zeke parted ways, and she sat down in one of the chairs to await being called in. It didn't take long, only about a minute, before she was beckoned in by the receptionist.

"Ah, Mrs Fyrane." Sharp addressed her when she stepped inside. "Or Miss Kiczys, if you prefer." he then said.

"Please, come in and sit." he offered.

"Thank you for seeing me on such short notice."

Ryker shook his head.

"Naw." he said.

"I got a day off." he told Eke.

"So I can stay home and help with the interviews if you like." he said further with a small smile, though there was a hint of sadness lying underneath it.

"I assume you're pretty much up now?" he then asked with a sigh.

"Want me to make you anything specific for breakfast?"

"Ah!" Azazel exclaimed lightly.

"Ah, yeah. Yeah, I did." he said, scratching the back of his head.

"Trust me, it was not pretty." he muttered.

"Eh?" Zeke asked.

"Succubi can get... REAL clingy, let's just say." Azazel responded. "And no, I'm not talking about Roxie, this was an ollllld flame that refused to just peter out." he told Zeke further.

"Thankfully, she'll leave me the hell alone now." he finished.

"Casey found a soul down in hell that was there for... doing... unspeakable things to women in life, and he's learning what it means to have a succubus become attached to you, and show you her affections with... well... let's say 'torture, even though that barely scratches the surface of it." he then explained.

"Well, it's not like I advertise it or anything." Zeke replied as they walked through the hallways.

As they walked, they passed Azazel, who looked at Casey and waved.

"Oh, hello." he greeted her with a smile.

"Didn't think I'd see you here." he said.

"You two know each other?" Zeke asked.

"She sometimes calls on me when she does some really high-tier necromancy, and needs a demon to fend off any other demons that night try and hijack the summoning." Azazel responded with a laugh.

Ryker stirred for a moment, his eyes slowly opening.

"Ngh... eh?" he mumbled.

"Eke?" he asked.

"Eke, are you okay?" he then asked him.

"You look like hell." he commented.

"And either my hearing was buggered and foggy, but you didn't SOUND great, either."

The one that showed up was one that she was vaguely familiar with, if nothing else because he was the son of a necromancer that she really respected.

"Oh, hello, Casey." Zeke greeted her.

"What can I do for you?" he asked.

"Escort her to Sharp!" Jake called to him.

"...well, that answers THAT." Zeke muttered.

"Come on, then." he told Casey.

The figure behind the newspaper was silent.

"I.D." he said.

Casey gave him her wallet, and it disappeared behind the paper for a moment... before being promptly returned, with everything still inside it, of course.

She then heard some 'ssst' sounds, before the paper was lowered, revealing it to be Jake.

"All right then." he said, his reptilian eyes almost piercing into her own eyes.

"You're in." he told her, pressing a button that opened the door.

"You need someone to take you to agent Sharp's office?" he asked.

Ryker smiled as well, as he saw the smile on Eke's face.

'....I really can't do much...' he thought.

'But I can at least be a source of comfort to you.' he sighed.

He then stared at the ceiling, and placed an arm on Eke's back.

"...sleep well." he whispered.

"Have the most pleasant of dreams." he finished, before closing his own eyes to try and fall asleep, himself.

Illias got to his feet as well, and looked at the paper.

".....hm." he mumbled.

"Something seems... weird." he said.

"One of the corrupted areas has some weird notation vaguely showing... and it looks... familiar..." he muttered.

"Can't say how..." he admitted with a sigh.

"I'll have to focus on it."

"....." Illias was silent as she asked her question.

"I..." he stammered.

"I'm not sure." he admitted.

"But Sharp's counting on us." he said. "A lot of people are." he went on.

"I have faith we won't let them down." he told her.

"I know we'll find SOMETHING."
