Ryker still looked depressed and forsaken, before the other side of him suddenly took over.

"That's ENOUGH!" he bellowed, as he reached a hand out. It extended towards Eke, but stopped... before seeming to grab something that wasn't there.

When he did, however, Eke suddenly heard gasps and chokes, as a faint shimmer of a shape of a person seemed to form beside him, just ahead of him.

"Strengthen your damn will, dragonling!" he then commanded Eke.

"Start realizing when things just aren't adding up!"

Eke's words stung. They hurt harder than anything else he'd ever felt in the past... and he felt his soul sink to his feet at that point.

".............I..." he stammered.

"Maybe... maybe it is." he said.

"Maybe you're right. I AM a cursed individual." he went on.

"By the way, look out." he then told Eke.

"That window's probably fragile." he mumbled.

Ryker froze when Eke said what he said, and did what he did.

"Wh... what?" he asked.

"Eke... Eke, it's me." he said.

"Ryker." he went on.

".......your brother." he then added after a pause.

"Eke, what's wrong?" he then asked, obviously concerned.

'Are you......sure?' the voice asked, mere moments before Ryker burst into the room.

"Eke!" he exclaimed.

"Holy crap, are you all right?" he asked, as he started to quickly make his way over.

"What's wrong?" he asked further, looking around slightly.

"...and what the hell's up with this room...?"

"Eke!?" he then heard Ryker call out.

"What's going on!?" Ryker asked, as his footsteps got closer.

'The demon will take him over.' Eke then heard.

'His life will be an eternity of pain.' the voice whispered.

'Spare him that agony.............'

Again, no answer.

But Eke almost felt... crowded... in the empty room.

And then he heard a voice... a whisper.

'...kill him...' he thought he heard.

'He's evil... kill him...'

The man sighed, and growled, as he sat down on the special cot in the medical examination room. He had a hand over his side, his clothing torn slightly, revealing chiselled muscles... which complimented his rather tall and broad physique, and looked around.

"Wonder who'll see me THIS time..." he muttered.

"And wonder if they'll act like I'm here to destroy them and send them to hell." he then mumbled further, shaking his head.

His name was Ezekiel, but he went by Zeke, and he was under the employment of Hal Sharp at Special Unit 3. He was employed as one that was responsible when physical force was needed in dealing with threats... and it was for a good reason.

He was a very unique individual... one whose birth could be seen as a sin. He was the spawn of a mortal and an angel... but he was also much more than that. Not that he ever really needed to go that far into it. His presence often caused people to fear for their lives, and he had grown weary of it.

But he knew there was nothing he could do about it. Such was his destiny, his fate. Because of what he was.

He was rarely here in the medical wing of the Unit, mostly because his own natural mana was usually enough to heal whatever injuries he had sustained for whatever reason... but this was no so on this occasion. And all times in the past, those that were tasked to tend to him often looked like they were scared to touch him, for fear of offending or angering him.

So he sighed again and brushed some of his blonde hair away from his deep blue eyes, and stared at the door, waiting for whoever was going to come through it.

There was no answer.

Just silence and coldness.

But still Eke felt the eyes upon him.

And he then swore he heard something... steps. Running fast. Running away from the room he was in.

The gaze felt ever closer, as well... like eyes were boring into the back of his head.

As Eke looked through the rooms, he noticed something.

Or, rather, sensed something.

Was he being watched? He felt like he was being watched.

But there was nobody around, and Ryker hadn't followed him.

But still... he felt eyes upon him.

"All right." Zach replied.

"...I've decided... I don't care." he told her.

"I don't care what you are." he said.

"I don't care if you'll live far longer than me." he went on.

"I... I love you." he continued.

"And nothing will change that. Nothing will keep me from you."

"...........I wish I knew." Ryker muttered.

"It could be spirits." he said.

"They say ghosts and spirits suck heat out of the atmosphere." he told him.

"But there's no way to know for sure." he went on.

"I'd ask my other side, but he's gone real silent."

Ryker looked around for a moment, narrowing his eyes.

"...I do." he replied.

He then made his way over towards Eke and handed him his jacket back.

"Here." he said.

"I can deal without the jacket. You look cold." he told him.

"But what was that.....?" he then wondered aloud.

Gregory looked at the thread, and into the fountain.

".........huh..." he mumbled, as he looked further ahead into the future...

Zach sighed to himself, as he approached Corey. It had been rough for them, and he now knew something for sure.

"Hey." he said to her quietly.

"Can we talk?" he asked.

"I have something I need to say."

Gregory just crossed his arms over his chest, and looked at the fountain.

".....hm." he mumbled.

"I see." he said.

"Okay, you've explained to me that they can survive this sudden change." he told her.

"But you haven't answered WHY." he commented.

"It seemed like they were doing just fine before all this. It seems... like needless hardship." he growled, before pausing for a moment and looking at her.

"Or are you doing your thing of playing 'the long game' again?" he asked her suspiciously.
