"......" Zeke was silent, and sighed.

"It's a place for me to be." he said.

"And by that, I mean it's a place where I can BE me." he then clarified.

"...see... my existence can be considered a crime against heaven." he told her. "Granted, the one upstairs has severely loosened the rules on that, but... it's still a VERY new change." he went on.

"I wouldn't fit in with my 'uncles', as they really don't like my existence, I don't really fit in with the other angels, as themselves and archangels really don't see eye to eye..." he continued.

"And the mortal world is REALLY not a place for me. I'm a Nephilim. In the end, there's really NO place for me... or at least, nobody thought there was... until I was scouted out by Ty, and brought to Sharp's attention." he then said.

"At the Unit, my talents can be put to good use... and I won't be judged for what I am." he told her, a small smile on his face.

"What about you?" he then asked. "How did YOU end up working for Sharp?"

Ryker was silent and still for a moment, before returning the hug.

"Yeah." he said.

"Come on, before it gets too dark." he told him.

"And the clouds look like they're gonna rain." he went on.

"Should be nice to watch the rain from a safe, dry place." he then commented.

"Enjoy a warm drink while doing so."

"Ah, yes." Zeke replied.

He then paused for a moment, thinking about it.

"Why a medic?" he asked.

"Why did you decide to get into the medicine field?' he asked further.

"Anything in specific?"

"See? You're not alone." Ryker told him.

"So many people care enough to help you." he said.

"Your home and furniture are proof enough of that." he went on.

"So let's go." he then agreed.

"You have a home to get to."

"That's fine..." Zeke responded.

"Hella nice ride you got here." he told her.

"Like... super nice." he went on.

"Musta shelled out quite a bit for it." he continued.

"You into cars or something?" he then asked.

Zeke's face turned red for a moment, before he shook it off.

"Ah... ahem... yes." he said.

"I'm here." he told her.

"So... uh... how are we doing this?" he asked. "Which is to say, how do you get home?" he clarified.

"Do you drive, use mana, something else?" he asked further.

"..........." Ryker was silent for a moment, before smiling.

"Good." he said.

"It's about time you had something good in your life." he told him.

"After your life of nothing but hardship, you finally have something to be happy about." he went on.

"Or... at least, get you closer to feeling something akin to happy."

"No! I'm not rejecting it!" Zeke quickly said.

"That would be great!" he told her.

"Amazing! Awesome!" he said further.

"I'll be there! I mean... at the entrance." he then said further.

"Sounds good. Like a plan. Yeah." he finished.

Zeke accepted the cream, and sighed.

"Yeah... yeah, I guess so." he said, before pausing.

"....wait." he then muttered.

"Wait, seriously?" he asked.

"Dinner?" he asked her.

"You'd... actually consider that? With me?"

Ryker saw Eke crying, and sighed.

"I'm sorry." he said when he approached.

"I wasn't able to get much." he told him.

"I did find some secluded places to camp out for the night, though." he then said.

"So we're not sleeping out in the open tonight, at least?"

"....................." Zeke was silent for another moment, and then sheepishly looked at her.

"To be honest, I deserve 'pissed'." he mumbled.

"But the fact that 'charmed' is even an option is flattering." he said.

"...also, to be fair, I actually just fully realized what I've been doing just recently." he then admitted.

"I guess I was taken by you when you treated me like you would anyone else." he went on.

"That's rare for me to come across." he told her candidly.

Ryker, on the other hand, wasn't so fortunate.

He didn't have much money, and was a stranger to the populace.

So he was only able to get a small amount of food, and had to subtly swipe what little things he could.

Beyond that, he did he best to try and catch some more fish from a nearby river, and any small mammals that were seen on the outskirts of the city.

"....damn it." he mumbled.

"Well, at least I'm not empty-handed." he said with a sigh.

"All right." Ryker responded.

"Where?" he asked.

"And when?" he asked further.

"Just so we have something akin to a schedule." he shrugged.

"We don't need to get separated from each other and be stuck looking for each other, and just missing each other." he reasoned.

".............this... this is true." Zeke admitted.

"I... well... I mean..." he stammered, before sighing.

"Maybe I'm just more confident, suddenly." he said.

"I mean, I'm resilient and such, but when it's a bit much, YOU'RE here for me." he reasoned.

"You've been able to help me every single time." he continued.

"You're smart, talented, got the right attitude, pretty..." he then listed off... moments before freezing in silence and horror, realizing what he'd said at the end.
