"Darrel might not be able to join us." Evan replied.

"He's kinda there to be the 'face' of the dance." he said.

"You know, he's popular, good-looking, gets hella-good grades, so the school parades him around to make them look good." he mumbled, rolling his eyes.

"I can ask, though." he said further.

"He might be willing to ditch the pressure of it."

Ryker looked over at Eke, and nodded.

"Yeah, sure." he said.

"Curl up." he told him.

He then scooted over, so Eke had room.

"Come on." he said further.

"Hopefully there'll be no more nightmares tonight. At least lake-related ones."

"I know JUST the place." Evan said.

"They got burger fare and all that... and amazing shakes." he told him.

"Seriously. They're pricey, but worth it." he went on.

He then paused for a moment, and looked back at the school.

"...should tell Darrel, though. Let someone know where we're off to."

"......I am totally fine with going for a bite to eat." Evan said.

"If you'd rather scram and not go back in there, we can find a place." he said.

"There's a few places around..." he continued, looking around.

"What are you in the mood for?" he then asked him.

"I can think of places to get anything... except... like... Thai, I think."

"Not sure." Evan admitted.

"Depends on what they were paying attention to." he said.

"Admittedly, most of them focus their attention on the known troublemakers in the school." he said further.

"But, again, depends on Darrel and such." he shrugged.

"...maybe..." he mumbled.

"I'm not so sure about the staff. Only one way to find out."

"As long as Darrel says you're not." Evan responded.

"Which, knowing him, he has." he continued.

"A lotta people respect him in the school." he went on.

"So even if people want to cause shit because of what happened, they won't, if Darrel says no." he chuckled.

"If anything, worry about if Sammy'll do anything to you if she hears of this." he then laughed, obviously joking.

Evan shook his head.

"You didn't destroy tonight." he said.

"If anything, I'm sorry the night was destroyed for you." he told him.

"I hope it's somewhat salvageable, anyway." he went on.

"We can try and enjoy the rest of it, if you feel you can."

Evan just shrugged.

"It's not surprising." he said.

Darrel just sighed again.

"I have no issues with you." he told Blair.

"I need to go back inside, though." he then said.

"Some people need to be told to NOT say what's on their mind, and keep their traps shut." he muttered, before turning and heading back inside.

"...we have a few other people that can sense and smell stuff." Evan told Blair. "And I do literally mean a few. A handful at MOST." he assured him.

"So he's going to warn them to keep any comments or questions to themselves, lest this happens again."

"Comes with the territory of what I am." Darrel responded.

He then paused and looked at Evan. When Evan nodded, Darrel looked back towards Blair, and opened his mouth, revealing his sizeable fangs.

"See those?" Evan asked Blair.

"Those aren't fake." he said.

"Nor are they modifications. He grew those, himself."

Ryker just sighed.

"Sure." he replied.

"At least we have beds in here." he said.

"Let's go, then." he went on.

"Sleep comfortably while we can."

Darrel just let out a huge sigh.

"I've come to rely on my sense of smell too much, it seems." he said.

Blair looked a little confused at this... after all, he didn't wear perfume or anything. This caused Evan to sigh again.

"Think more... pheromones, I suppose." he said to him.

"....actually, they're a lot fainter and more subdued/subtle on you." Darrel then said to Blair. "So... actually, I'm a more at fault than I first realized." he mumbled.

"Regardless, sorry about that, fella." he then apologized again, using a male-oriented term at the end.

Darrel and Evan looked over towards Blair, with Darrel flinching slightly, and Evan sighing.

"Right." Evan said as Blair got within talking distance.

"Darrel here, as an apology for his rudeness, has offered to pay for your cab ride home." he told him.

Darrel just sighed.

"Yeah." he said.

"And... sorry about ruining the evening for you." he then outright apologized.

A few minutes after Blair had left, Darrel returned, and spoke to Evan.

"Evan... can I... talk with you for a moment?" he asked.

"Only if -I- can talk to YOU." Evan responded, not sounding impressed at all.

Darrel just sighed, and nodded.

About a minute later, as Blair sat on the steps, he looked over and noticed Darrel and Evan stepping out of a side door. And it seemed like they were having a very heavy and serious conversation.

He couldn't hear what they were saying, but it was clear that Evan was very annoyed, and Darrel was looking VERY sheepish.

Evan just looked at Blair.

"Sure." he replied.

"Do whatever you need to do." he said.

"And I'm sorry." he apologized.

"I'm sorry this happened." he clarified.

"I should have seen this coming. Especially from Darrel." he commented further, pinching the bridge of his nose and shaking his head slightly.
