"Oh. I see." Lindsay replied.

"........" he was then silent for a moment.

'Something.... hm...' he thought further, before sighing.

"Well, all right." he said to her.

"Duly noted, I suppose." he went on.

"Do you want me to let you know if I hear anything or see Blair?" he asked her.

"....Blair?" Lindsay asked.

"No... no, he isn't." he said.

"Why?" he asked.

"Is something wrong?" he asked further.

'...of course something is, but let's not audibly jump to conclusions.' he thought to himself.

"Of course." Lindsay replied.

With that, the ended their conversation, and he made his way down to the den of the manor.

He sat down in one of the couches, and sighed to himself.

"Hm." he mumbled.

"Something... something isn't adding up." he said to himself.

"Is she... hiding something from me?"

"Well, truth be told, due to our varying work schedules, there would be someone available to take him home at a more reasonable hour." Lindsay assured her in response.

"So tomorrow works for us." he told her.

"Feel free to drop him off whenever is convenient for you." he went on.

"As I said, someone is always awake and about around here." he chuckled.

"As soon as possible." Lindsay replied.

"By which I mean, any time is good." he told her.

"There's always someone home, so someone will be here to receive him." he went on.

"So, whenever you can fit it in your schedule." he continued.

"Or, we can arrange someone to pick Blair up." he then offered.

"I see." Lindsay responded.

'....something just isn't adding up...' he thought.

"Well, regardless, I wish you and Blair all the best." he told her.

"Will we be able to see Blair before you leave?" he asked.

"He and my son have gotten quite close."

Ryker just sighed deeply, and started to walk as well.

"If there's a stream around, we can try and catch some fish or something." he said.

"...not sure if there's anywhere else we can get food right away...." he muttered further.

"Hm." he mumbled.

"There might be some fruit trees barely clinging to the remaining fruit they have around." he then added.

Ryker just sighed in response.

"Good." he said.

"At least it won't split open again." he muttered.

He then looked around them, and bit his lip some.

"Well, then." he mumbled.

"Suppose we should try and... head off, I suppose. Maybe find a place where we can get food." he suggested.

Ryker looked at Eke when he said all that, and sighed.

"I'd imagine that would be quite harrowing." he said.

"And.... questions you won't have answers to until you're older?" he asked.

"That's... admittedly, an intriguing statement." he muttered.

"But so long as you're all right at the moment." he continued, rising to his feet.

Lindsay was silent for a moment as he processed this information.

"...I wish you would have told me this sooner." he said.

"That you were even applying in the first place." he clarified.

"Just so I would have had time to get the proper paperwork done and such." he went on.

"But... even still, it's good to hear you will have an easier time supporting Blair and yourself now." he then said further, all the while finding this entire situation odd.

When she had told him that Blair would not be coming in for any appointments any longer, he had had enough.

"Why?" he asked.

"We were making good progress in them." he said.

"Especially the art sessions with my wife." he went on.

"Why are they suddenly cancelled?"

Ryker held Eke in response.

"Yeah, I'm ok." he said.

'...for the most part...' he added mentally.

"Why?" he asked.

"What was that nightmare you were having?"

Ryker had not fallen asleep, and was shocked and startled when Eke started calling out his name.

"Eke! Hey!" he said, gently shaking him.

"Eke! It's me! Ryker!" he said further.

"You're having a nightmare! Wake up!" he went on, trying to get Eke to awaken from whatever nightmare he was locked in.

Evan looked confused, but waved back.

"What is it?" Lindsay asked, looking at him.

"It looked like Blair was smirking about something. Or... well, it looked like he was smirking. But what was he smirking about, if he even was?" Evan responded.

Lindsay just chuckled.

"I guess that will be something you discover in due time." he told him. "Or not." he added another small laugh.
