"I can tell." Evan replied.

"You look a lot skinnier." he said.

"ANYWAY, come on." Lindsay said further, literally picking Evan up by his collar.

"Evan will be back with food." he told him.

The two of them then left, leaving Blair to get changed.

Evan blushed a little and smiled when Blair called him a 'doll'.

"Eh-heh." he chuckled.

"Th-thanks." he said.

"Anyway." Lindsay interjected.

"Blair, I'm sure you're hungry." he said to Blair.

"Evan and I will make up something to eat and bring it here." he told him. "It'll give you time to change into those clothes." he then added.

"........." Lindsay was silent as Blair said what he did, and gestured to the griffin.

As soon as he did, the little griffin flew up from his shoulder, flapping its wings and soaring around them.

"...this confirms a lot of suspicions." he mumbled.

"We'll need to get the police to his location." he told Blair.

"Get him arrested ASAP." he said further.

He then sighed, as he finished tending to most of the wounds.

"That should do it." he told him, as Evan came back with a handful of clothing.

"I brought a change of clothes that should work for Blair." he said.

"...you look weird in a dress." he told Blair. "I don't like it." he admitted.

Ryker got out all their supplies, and started looking around the cupboards as well.

"....huh." he muttered.

"Interesting." he said.

"Guess people were living here recently. This must be a vacation home or something." he commented further.

That was when Eke started to hear clinking, clanking, and scuffling about in the kitchen.

"....." Lindsay was silent for a moment, and then sighed.

"We'll have to get you back on your supplements." he said. "Your voice is definitely higher-pitched than last we saw you." he replied as he continued to tend to the wounds.

"As for almost killing him, it's amazing you had that restraint." he went on.

"Though, how DID you escape?" he then asked him.

"I find it hard to believe your father would drop his guard for no reason."

Lindsay sighed as well.

"Odds are he wasn't thinking straight." he responded as he got closer.

"To be fair to him, he's been quite distraught since the news of your moving away came in." he then told Blair.

"Regardless, I-" he started to say, before Evan returned with the first aid kit.

"Here!" he told Lindsay. "Be right back, need to grab something else!" he then quickly said, before dashing out of the room again.

"........mm." Lindsay mumbled.

"Anyway, I'm going to perform some immediate medical treatment on your more grievous wounds." he told Blair.

"While I do, mind explaining what happened to you?" he asked. "Which is to say, what you feel comfortable telling me." he then added.

Ryker, during the past two years, had dedicated himself to making his body less delicate and scrawny. He took the time to develop some muscles, and the results showed as clear definition in his arms, legs, and torso.

But he still wasn't any closer to figuring out what the deal with his chest shard was... or if he had, he hadn't told Eke about it. He kept the tooth as a reminder of that battle 2 years ago, and had turned it into a crude necklace for himself, a reminder that he always had to get stronger.

"Hey, good news!" he called to Eke as he searched the cabin.

"Looks like the appliances in here still have some life to them!" he declared.

"We can properly cook up supplies while we're here!"

"Oh geez!" Evan exclaimed.

"Dad! Mom!" he then called out.

"I'm on my way!" they both heard Lindsay say from upstairs.

"Blair, I'll call my uncle Rene as well!" Evan then told Blair. "He's a doctor, he'll be able to help!" he said further.

"Or you can fetch the first aid kit and we can do some emergency care first." Lindsay commented, having arrived at the entranceway to the den.

"...right!" Evan exclaimed as he rushed out of the room.

"Now you can gather your thoughts a little more easily." Lindsay said to Blair. "Without my panicky son making all that noise."

Ryker just watched this occur, and sighed quietly.

'....great.' he thought.

"THIS isn't going to be irritating at all...' he grumbled internally.

He then shook his head, and looked skyward.

"Just gonna have to ride this out..." he mumbled under his breath.

"No surveillance?" Evan asked.

He then looked around in all directions.

"...and nobody around to see this." he said further.

"Good." he went on.

"Brace yourself." he then told Blair, before placing his hands on his shoulders.

Then, before Blair could even say anything, they were surrounded by an aura of black electricity... and the next thing he knew, he was standing in the den of the Fyrane manor... alongside Evan.

Ryker was silent as Eke said what he did, before looking at the tooth he'd broken off the elder dragon, as well as his own broken knuckles.

"If... you want to." he said.

'...something tells me that if that fight had gone on for longer, the outcome wouldn't have been the same.' he thought.

'I need to come to terms with this shard embedded inside me.' he went on.

'And I need to figure out if I can control it.'

"Blair!" Evan exclaimed.

"I-" he started to say, before pausing.

"I... uh..." he stammered, looking over Blair, head to toe.

"I... you... but... what... and the... with... and the... but why... with... I mean..." he stammered and stumbled over his words, before shaking his head.

"I think a generic 'what the fuck happened to you' is sufficient here." he said.

"But nevermind that." he went on.

"You ready to go back?" he asked.

"As in, right NOW?" he then clarified.

"I'll... I'll get you here." Evan then said.

"Gimme... just gimme a couple of minutes, ok?" he asked.

"Just... stay where you are, I'll be right there." he finished.

Then, before Blair could really say anything, Evan hung up the phone.

"Uh, uh, uh..." Evan stammered, looking around his room.

"Jeans! Shirt!" he exclaimed, before scrambling about.

"........................" Evan was silent for a moment, almost stunned.

"B... B-B-Blair?" he asked.

"Oh my god, oh my god, it's you!" he then exclaimed, his eyes popping open as he scrambled to a sitting position on his bed.

'Thank heavens I decided to answer an unknown number...' he thought to himself.

"Where are you?" he asked. He had so many other questions right now, but he forced himself to focus on the most important and relevant one right now.
