"Well, the reasons I have for calling you in are two-fold." Professor McCoy responded.

"The first one, and the one we'll discuss right now, is that I understand that you've already met our new student, and seem to be getting along well with him." he said.

"How did...?" Jackson started to ask, which resulted in the headmaster chuckling.

"Information can travel fast, if one keeps their ear to the ground." was the response given.

"...can't argue that." Jackson mumbled.

"Anyway, I would greatly appreciate it if you could streamline his integration into our system." Professor McCoy then said to Ana.

"Think you could do that?" he asked her.

As they walked, Jackson wondered what her muttering was about.

'Eh?' he thought.

'What's THAT about?' he wondered, as the two of them entered the headmaster's office.

Once they did, they saw an older male with a rather bulky muscular structure, clad in business casual wear, and wearing glasses... and he was completely covered in blue fur.

"Ah, hello, hello." he greeted them, as Jackson could only look at him, starry and wide-eyed.

"P... P... Professor McCoy." he managed to get out.

"Heard of him!?" Jackson exclaimed quietly.

"He's done so much for mutants! His research is amazing. It's seen as revolutionary and-" he started to rave, before the secretary returned.

"Professor McCoy will see the both of you, now." she said.

"And yes, Ana, he wishes to see YOU, as well." she told Ana.

Jackson was silent, and gulped.

"R-right then." he stammered.

The secretary looked at the two as they entered, and nodded.

"Ah yes." she said.

"Professor McCoy has been expecting you." she told Jackson.

"One second while I check to see if he's in." she added, before getting up and heading towards a door.

As he watched and heard this, Jackson leaned in towards Ana.

"McCoy?" he whispered.

"As in... Professor HENRY McCoy?" he asked her quietly.

"...I know what it's like to not fit in." Jackson said. "Though... maybe not specifically in the way that YOU'RE talking about." he then admitted.

"But still. I kinda get it." he reiterated.

"And yeah, this place seems all right. I better like it, as it's where I belong now." he went on.

"It also helps that I've already met someone really awesome." he then added with a small smile.

Jackson paused when he heard all that.

"Ah..." he stammered.

"I... ah... what?" he asked.

"Holy hell." he mumbled.

"That's... that's... just... wow." he said, shaking his head lightly.

"You HAVE been here a while." he then said quietly.

"I'll bet you know a lot more than what's taught here in the school." he added.

"Good to know." Jackson responded.

"I'll be sure to keep an eye out for them." he told her.

"What about you?" he asked.

"How long did it take YOU to get used to this place?" he asked her. "And when did you start coming to this school?" he asked further.

"And feel free to hit me if I'm bugging you with all the questions." he then added.

"Huh. Clever." Jackson responded.

"That's a really good idea." he said further.

"Guess they really know what they're doing here." he chuckled, before sighing.

"I just need to integrate myself." he said quietly.

"No idea how easy or hard it'll be, but I need to try." he said further.

"Oh, and I've also heard that the staff here are quite famous." he then commented.

Jackson raised an eyebrow when she said that.

"Weird?" he asked.

"...somehow there's a bit of hypocrisy in a mutant thinking another mutant is 'weird'..." he commented.

"But maybe that's just me." he mumbled.

"Regardless, I'll actually be happy to be rid of the shades." he admitted.

"Just... yeah, do not care for them at all." he sighed.

"Yes, thanks." Jackson said to Devin as well, climbing out of the car.

When they both exited the vehicle, Devin pulled away, and Jackson watched the car disappear in the distance.

"Ah, yeah." he then said to Ana.

"I really should get to head office." he agreed.

"And you'll get me there? Sweet." he then said, as the two of them started to make their way to the building.

As they walked, they both noticed students milling about, and many of them were looking at Jackson, and then whispering, some of them chuckling.

"Ugh." Jackson mumbled.

"Really don't like having to wear these shades. They make me look like a douche." he said further.

"Well, that's good." Jackson replied.

The rest of the drive contained mostly small talk, but a lot of it was silence... until the car pulled up in front of one of the most impressive and imposing buildings Jackson had ever seen.

Not so much that it towered over him, but it spanned the grounds everywhere, and it was clear that the acreage was being used to the max... and there was a LOT of it.

"....woah..." he mumbled in awe.

"Impressive, isn't it?" the driver asked.

"Welcome to your new home." he told the young male.

"It... seems so." Jackson admitted.

"And the bus would have only gotten me so close. I'd have needed to walk a fair distance." he said.

"Yes, well, that's by choice on the school's behalf." the driver responded. "The school is in a remote place, so that the students can study in relative peace." he explained.

"...that makes sense." Jackson admitted.

"But yes, you are fortunate to have run into Anatasia." the driver then told him.

"Seems so." Jackson responded with a small smile.

"Not right now, anyway." Jackson replied.

"Just... not at the moment." he said quietly.

"...." there was then silence for a few moments, before the driver cleared his throat.

"We'll be there shortly." he told them.

"Shortly?" Jackson asked.

"Well... in about a half-hour." the driver clarified.

"I know some shortcuts." he chuckled.

"....that makes sense." Jackson responded.

"And... yeah. I'd... rather not talk about why I've suddenly found myself changing schools." he mumbled.

"Everyone has something in their past they regret." the driver commented.

"Mm." Jackson mumbled.

"Guess I just need to see what they do to integrate me into the school." he then said further.

"And see if I can't find my way around."
