Jackson accepted the page, and looked it over.

"Mmhmm... mmhmm..." he mumbled.

"....hm?" he then said, raising an eyebrow.

"One thing." he said to her.

"Can we move THIS session an hour ahead?" he asked. "I'm in the Martial Arts club, and our meeting can run a bit longer than planned." he explained.

"Is it all right if we make it so there's no possible conflict of schedule?"

Jackson watched her head off, and sighed.

"Yeah, see ya." he said quietly.

He then looked forward, and stared at nothing.

His mind was too preoccupied.

Mostly with Ana... and how he felt about her. Which was to say, he was unsure as well... and it concerned and confused him.

"Ah, yeah, that." Jackson said.

"Yeah, do whatever you need to." he told her.

"...ugh." he then grunted.

"Hate trig. Just... hate it." he grumbled.

"Anyway, yeah, I know I need to be careful about a rep here." he said.

"It can be a good thing, but just as easily, a bad thing."

"Hence why I did it the way I did it." Jackson said.

"...seems I've gotten a smidgen of a name now, as well." he went on.

"I've heard whispers about me." he told her.

"Like, I stood up to Alex, and all that blah blah blah." he continued.

"Not surprising, I suppose." he then sighed.

"There were a lot of spectators at that 'fight'."

"I noticed on the first day." Jackson replied.

"Regardless, I do what I can." he said.

"Even if people don't know it." he went on. "...in this case, ESPECIALLY if people don't know about it." he then clarified, thinking about it.

"Something tells me Alex wouldn't take too kindly to deliberate and overt help from me." he said.

"So 'accidental help' will need to suffice." he reasoned.

"Neither do I." Jackson admitted.

"But I figured I'd cross that bridge when I got to it." he told her.

"I just didn't want him to start fighting with you." he said.

"Well, that and I didn't want Alex to get expelled and have his sister deal with that." he admitted further.

"From what you've told me about her, she wouldn't take that well."

"I've found that, as well." Jackson replied.

"But there's a delicate balance." he said.

"I've found that if you go too far, you actually look and sound like you're bluffing, so they'll attack anyway." he continued.

"It's about knowing the fine line between confidence and arrogance, I suppose." he then said further.

"...took ME a while to find out where that line was..." he admitted quietly.

"But, as you saw with Alex, I'm decent at taunting as well." he chuckled.

"...that makes sense." Jackson admitted.

"So your hosts are more frail, meaning you need to try and avoid physical conflict whenever possible." he said, scratching at his chin and taking a bite of food.

"That's gotta suck." he commented.

"Though I've noticed you're good at avoiding physical fights. Or, well, you're confident in them, anyway." he clarified further.

"You've had a while to learn such things, so again, makes sense." he then added.

"...actually, that raises a question." Jackson then said.

"Does the amount they can take vary from person to person?" he asked. "Er... host to host?" he then clarified after a moment.

"And is it less than how much they would have taken when alive?" he asked further.

"...or, is it dependent on YOU?" he wondered.

"Count the blessings, I suppose." Jackson said.

"Anyway, yeah, sucks, but... all I can do is deal with it, as I have been." he commented.

"And are you ok?" he asked.

"I mean, I assume you are. Seems Alex didn't lay a hand on you, and I know you're strong." he said with a shrug.

"...but I still feel I should ask."

"....I see." Jackson responded.

"I... wow." he mumbled.

"Well... at least they DIDN'T blow up the school." he said.

"That would have been... disastrous, to put it VERY mildly." he commented further.

"Guess that means no more lab work for a while." he then went on. "Odds are every fine detail will be gone through and cleaned up, and probably some reevaluation of some things." he sighed.

"A shame. I rather enjoy lab work in science." he then lamented.

"...I was wondering about that." Jackson admitted.

"We were scheduled for mostly lab work this month, but that was cancelled pretty abruptly." he said. "So now we're given a free period, but encouraged to work ahead in the textbook." he went on.

"Which... I have been..." he admitted.

"But that must have been a pretty big incident to cause the lab to be shut down like this." he then commented.

"What happened?"

"No, don't think so." Jackson responded.

"I've managed to keep a decently low profile, power and goggles notwithstanding." he told her.

"What about you?" he asked.

"You say you've been busy." he commented.

"But with what? Anything in specific, or unique?"

"Sure." Jackson responded.

"That works for me." he said.

"All my other subjects are fine." he told her.

"Hell, pulling B 's to A-'s in the rest." he went on.

"But... trig's screwin' me up." he admitted, shaking his head.

"So yeah, any help would be awesome." he reiterated.

"Let me know whenever you get any sort of schedule or info."
