After a bit of silence, she heard Dr. McCoy's kind and warm voice from behind the door.

"Do come in." he beckoned.

When she did, he looked up, took his glasses off, and set aside his book... which was about philosophy.

"Ah, Anastasia." he said.

"This is a surprise." he commented.

"Care for some tea?" he offered.

On her way there, she encountered very few students... most of them were still asleep, and the few that she DID encounter were because they had been pulling all-nighters for big tests.

She ran into very few staff members, as well... but that was probably because they were also just getting up, or were in their classrooms prepping for the day.

Regardless, her journey was uninterrupted and swift, and when she made it to the headmaster's office, she was greeted by an empty secretary's desk.

Looking around, and noticing the clock, she saw that the secretary wouldn't be in for another hour or so, but she DID hear signs of activity in the office.

Which meant that Dr. McCoy was in his office, probably caught up in some reading.

"Very well." Cecil replied.

"Bearing in mind, when you arrive in the past, you will be as your spirit self, so you'll need to find your own host in that time." he told her.

When she nodded, he approached her and raised his hand. His palm started to glow a light green aura, before he shoved it upon her chest, thrusting her soul/spirit out of her host body.

Then, after a few seconds, she found herself surrounded by an orb of energy... which then seemed to speed forward through a tunnel of bending light.

She had no idea how long she was in there, as, even for her, time became quite meaningless in the tunnel. But, after a fashion, the tunnel ended, the orb dissipated, and she found herself where she had told him to send her... WHEN she had told him to send her as well.

"Bearing in mind, I didn't say 'literally'. I said 'essentially'." Cecil clarified.

"Yes, you would be combining with yourself, but it would be more... absorbing." he said further.

"It's very difficult to explain, but... you'll experience it, should you go back." he told her.

"I ask again, are you prepared for this?" he asked her.

"If so, tell me where to send you." he said further.

"And I mean as EXACT as possible." he stressed.

Cecil was silent as Ana said all she did, merely staring at her for a moment.

"...I had my suspicions." he said.

"But all right. That does sound like Jack." he told her.

"Also, his theory is correct." he then said further. "I know my powers, and if you're just a ghost, then you will not be bound by the restrictions my power enforces." he explained.

"But know this." he told her further.

"As soon as you are sent back, you will essentially murder the you of the past." he warned.

"Are you prepared to go through that?" he asked her.

Cecil just raised his hand up.

"Spare me." he said.

"Anyway, now that we won't be bothered, tell me." he muttered.

"How do you know Jack?" he asked her.

"He's still alive?" he asked further.

"And, more importantly, how can MY middling power save this world?" he then inquired.

Cecil froze when he heard that.

"......" he was silent, before standing up.

He walked past her, to the front of the store, before locking the door and putting up a 'back at' sign.

With that, he walked back to her.

"Come." he told her.

"We need to speak in the office." he said, before making his way off to the side, and going through an office door.

"........." the man was silent for a moment, briefly stopping his work.

"Cecil?" he asked.

"I'M Cecil." he said, restarting his work on the computer.

"And a mutual friend?" he asked.

"I don't HAVE any friends any longer." he muttered.

"But I'll humour you. Continue." he then said further.

When she stepped inside, she saw computers lining the walls, all set up for gaming, or internet surfing. She also saw some old consoles set up for gaming purposes.

But nobody was there.

All she saw was a man in a tattered lab coat, sitting at the far back, at a desk, working on assembling a computer.

When she approached him, he didn't look at her, didn't even acknowledge her at first, but he spoke.

"Welcome." he said.

"Been a while since someone's actually made an appointment for here." he went on.

"I barely even get any business at all, what with the rumours of online activity being heavily monitored and tapped and all." he continued.

"Anyway, what do you want with us?" he asked, referring to his business as a whole.

"Well, best make your decision." he responded.

"In the meantime, I'll get the stuff together." he went on.

"However, let me know sooner, rather than later." he continued.

"I need to know if I should prep another body to add to the new reserve." he reasoned.

"Anyway, I'll leave you to make your decision." he finished, before heading to the back of the building... his living quarters.

"I'll get some things together for you." her friend replied.

"Supplies and the like." he clarified.

"What's your immediate plan?" he then asked.

"I realize the larger goal is the meet Cecil, but what about right now?" he asked further.

"Are you going to see Jackson one more time?"

"...." her friend was silent, and then sighed.

"He should be in the next city." he told her.

"Last I heard, he had been running an internet cafe, though I don't know if he'll still be running it now." he said further.

"If you want to go, I won't stop you." he went on.

"This might be our best shot at fixing this broken future."

Her friend was silent for a moment, before his eyes suddenly widened.

"Cecil?" he asked.

"I know Cecil!" he told her.

"Yes... yes, his ability SHOULD work for you, in theory." he said further.

"....I think I know where he might be, too." he then mumbled.

"But someone's going to need to go and find him." he told her further.

"I can't do it, as it'll be weird for me to be out and about for an extended period." he then reasoned.
