"....excuse me?" the person responded.

"Thanks to the order's efforts, humans are safer than ever." they said.

"We're no longer in danger of being killed by those unstable mutants." they went on, before pausing.

".........wait." they then said, backing up slightly.

"Wait... are you one of THEM? Or a sympathizer!?" they exclaimed.

As she said that, someone walking by paused, having heard that.

"Hm?" they muttered.

"What is?" they asked her, before looking at what she was looking at.

"I suppose so." they agreed.

"These statues are eyesores. Don't know why there's so many of them."

"Take your time." he replied.

"This world can't get much worse than it is." he sighed.

He then made his way to his small desk, sat down at it, and started to think.

"......hm." he mumbled.

"Now... where could he be hiding...?" he wondered aloud.

The man was silent for a moment, before thinking.

"I.... no. No, I don't." he responded.

"But at the same time... maybe I do." he then said.

"I would need to get into contact with him and discuss it." he told her.

"Are you going to even attempt to save him?" he then asked.

"I need to know if I should be prepping a larger reserve for you."

"Oh?" the man asked.

"I suppose that's not surprising." he said.

"All right, what now?" he asked.

"What's your plan?" he asked her.

"If Jackson's working for them, he must have switched allegiances." he commented.

"Or worse." he then added.

"What do you plan to do with the info you currently have?"

When she arrived, she saw the man, working over a body on one of the tables, before stopping.

"...sooner than I had anticipated." he commented.

"Give me 5 minutes." he told her.

With that, he continued his work, picking up the pace a little, before stepping away from the body... that of a 20-year-old brunette woman.

"Go ahead." he seemed to say to the air.

"Prepped and ready."

She didn't get a response. At least, not a clear one.

However, she thought she felt... something from inside the 'prison'.

Something that felt like a... spark. A glimmer.

But it faded as soon as she felt it.

Soon, she noticed that the goggles had been placed over Jackson's eyes again, and they were leading him away.

"Get him back to holding!" the leader barked.

Surprisingly, there was little to no resistance when she attempted to step into him.

However, when she entered, she found a MUCH different landscape within him.

Previously, when she had shared a body, Jackson's mind was far more inviting. It was more like a cozy home, that looked well-lived in comfortable and warm.

Now it was like a prison. Cold, empty and in disrepair.

And it almost seemed like a bit of a maze as well.

But she could sense... something. She could sense that she wasn't truly alone.

The leader just laughed again.

"A shame." he said.

"For one as young as yourself to be so rotten and rebellious." he commented.

"At any rate..." he then muttered, before unlocking the eyewear, and letting it fall to the floor.

Once he did, her eyes met Jackson's, and she suddenly felt her body become stiff... immoveable and immobile. She suddenly felt the coldness overcoming her, and it felt like her skin was being coated with liquid stone... before she lost all feeling to her various body parts.

Then... she knew she had to abandon ship, as things started to become darker and darker for her.

When she looked into the goggles, she saw his eyes.

They were different than last she saw them.

They were still the same colour, but there was something else to them. They were sunken... dull... almost lifeless. They were the eyes of a broken soul contained inside a broken man.

"............" he was silent, as the leader laughed.

"Hm? You know this thing?" he asked her.

"SILENCE!" he snapped.

"It is clear you are unrepentant." he said.

"Your punishment will be well-deserved." he said further.

At that point, the elevator doors opened again, and several figures emerged.

Most of them looked like guards, but one looked like an obvious commander... though he was not the figure that grabbed Ana's attention.

The one that did was a male that looked to be about 17 years old. He had long black hair that was clearly unkempt and messed, as well as tattered plan clothing... but he was also wearing a pair of cracked goggle-like eyewear, that seemed to be forcibly strapped and locked to his head.

"It's like a train wreck. You can't take your eyes off of it." he responded.

"Plus... you know... its creepy how it's so lifeless." he muttered.

"All right, that's enough." the other one said.

"Use this time to reflect on your decision to oppose us, and attempt to stand in the way of order and law." they told her.

The guard that had spoke looked at her.

"...if you must know, it's creepy to watch it happen." he responded.

"Hey!" the other male snapped.

"What? She's a dissident, and going to be punished anyway... no sense lying to her or keeping things secret." the first one responded with a shrug.

"That, and its gaze is so... hollow... it's frightening." he added.

"At least its useful." the other one muttered.

A couple of them stayed behind to watch her, as the others went into the elevator.

"Make sure she doesn't do anything funny!" the one in charge ordered.

"I need to inform the Leader of this, and get our weapon." they told them.

"Yes sir!" they answered in unison.

When the elevator closed, one of them sighed deeply.

"...that thing freaks me out." they said. "I hate watching it do its thing."
