Jackson's eyes widened when he saw the dart coming his way.

'SHIT!' he cursed internally, as he moved to dodge the dart.

He managed to... just barely. He swore he felt the tip of the dart against his cheek.

However, as soon as he dodged it, he felt the floor under him start to shake and wobble... as though it had changed to an unstable, rubbery-like substance.

"Nice reflexes." the shadowed male commented, his hands on the floor now.

"But try dodging again when you can't get a foothold." he taunted.

Jackson's eyes widened when he saw the capsule... with the same glow that Ana exuded.

'.....ohhhhhh shit.' he thought.

"The stone boy?" the male asked.

"OH! Is that why we're wearing the goggles?" he asked his partner.

"..." Jackson was then silent, before looking at the other figure.

"I'm going to take a stab at this, and say YOU'RE the brains between the two of you." he commented, doing his best to sound and remain calm, but internally his mind was racing, trying desperately to think of a way to free Ana, with his powers being neutralized at the moment.

Without his powers, he was effective against people attacking him, but he guessed that they wouldn't be so foolish as to do so. At least, the figure he just addressed wouldn't be.

'What the...?' Jackson thought, as he looked around.

"Where'd she go...?" he mumbled.

"Huh?" the shadowed male muttered. "What are you muttering about?" he asked.

"Well, no matter, suppose this is where your grave will be." he then chuckled.

"...tell me something." Jackson then said. "Have either of you considered having your likenesses immortalized in statue form?" he asked them.

"The hell are you ON about!?" the male exclaimed with a chuckle, seeming to miss Jackson's ominous tone.

'As careful as I can be, considering.' Jackson responded.

As they approached the lab, and saw the door in the distance, they were suddenly stopped by a pair of shadowed figures.

"What the!?" Jackson exclaimed.

"...looks like one of them isn't trying to hide." one of them, a male, said.

"You're either brave, or stupid." they commented further.

"Who are you!?" Jackson demanded.

"...you're pushy as well." the male growled.

Jackson didn't say anything, either mentally or vocally.

Instead, he dashed forward, to where Scott's lab was.

'I'm not backing down NOW.' he told her.

'SOMETHING big is happening down here, and I need to intervene.' he said.

'Remember when we first met?' he asked her.

'Yeah, I gotta butt in. It's my thing.'

'Makes sense.' Jackson replied.

'We'll see Professor Summers then.' he agreed.

They then reached the bottom of the stairs, and Jackson opened the door to the hallway, only for the immediate area to shake... and violently, at that.

"AH!" he exclaimed, almost getting knocked off his feet.

'The hell was THAT!?' he exclaimed mentally.

'That was alarmingly close!'

'....hm.' Jackson thought.

'Maybe.' he replied, as he hurried down the stairs.

'So what do we do now?' he asked her.

'Where do we head, and what do we do with this knowledge of his betrayal?' he asked further.

'...and how long can you last just hitching a ride with me?'

".........." Jackson didn't say anything in response.

Not aloud, anyway.

'I thought something was fishy.' he thought.

He then started to sneak away, as there was another tremor through the building.

'The basement. Right.' he then thought further, as he slipped through the doors to the stairwell, and began to descend.

"Why would he do this?" he asked aloud.

"He always seemed like such a kind and compassionate man."

'I have no idea.' Jackson responded.

"...this is weird." he muttered.

"And it doesn't make sense." he said further.

He then looked around, before getting closer, but trying to remain hidden.

"Yes, that's right, get in the safe zone." Mr. Shaile ordered.

"Stay close together. Don't spread out."

'...that's true.' Jackson admitted.

'We don't know who we can trust, at all.' he lamented.

He then continued to rush down the hallways, before he noticed a staff member corralling and herding students into one of the safe zone areas.

"...that's Mister Shaile." he commented.

"Isn't he supposed to be on vacation...?"

Jackson paused for the briefest of moments, before he shook his head.

'Right.' he thought.

'I shouldn't be surprised you can read my thoughts right now.' he thought further.

'So what do we do?' he asked.

'Can we trust the safe zones? Or any of the staff... or anyone at ALL?' he asked her further.

"........" Jackson was silent as he heard that.

"Damn it." he cursed.

"How the hell could they have done that?" he wondered aloud.

'Unless... it WAS an inside job.' he then thought.

'IS there a traitor behind these walls...?'

"Trying to find a host?" he asked.

"I assume you mean ASAP." he said.

"Because didn't you say you had a friend that always had one prepared?" he asked her.

"Or... like, is it too far away or something? Can you not be outside a host for very long?" he asked further.

"Or is this about wanting to stay here at the school?"

".............." Jackson was silent for a moment, before nodding.

'Right.' he thought.

"Yeah, sure." he then said.

"Look, we need to get going." he commented, as the building seemed to shake again.

"What's going on?" he asked.

"As in, how the hell did this start!?" he asked further, as he started to bolt through the hallways once more.
