Rene just sighed, and pinched the bridge of his nose.

"Ngh." he grunted.

"Just... ngh." he muttered.

"Well, guess you're proof that reanimation works." he said.

"But I'm willing to bet that you don't eat like a human." he guessed.

Rene's gaze snapped over towards her.

"....." he was silent, and looked ready to attack, before he seemed to calm himself down.

".....messing with the flow of life and death..." he mumbled.

"It is not meant to be reversible." he growled further, before pausing.

"But you being so young DOES explain a lot." he then continued, thinking about it.

"Your father seemed absolutely distraught and desperate to get those plants from me."

It was then that she saw Rene's eyes fill with anger, his teeth clench together, and his hands ball into fists.

"DAMN IT!" he yelled.

"That idiotic BASTARD!" he shouted, before slamming his fist into the nearest wall, the wall not breaking, but it seemed like his fist was all right as well.

"So THAT'S why he wanted the Vigor Weed and the Preservation Algae!" he exclaimed.

Rene was silent as he heard all this... until she saw his eyes widen a little.

"Wait..." he said.

"Wait, wait, wait..." he repeated.

"Your father broke the fundamental laws?" he asked rhetorically. "You were a child when you died..." he went on. "Basarab..." he said further.

"Question.' he then said.

"Was your father's name... Garridan?" he asked her.

Rene paused for a moment.

"...Basarab?" he asked.

He was then silent, and looked her over.

"...suppose I DID believe you." he then said, scratching at his chin.

"HOW are you standing before me, speaking with me?" he asked her.

"Also... something about that name is familiar." he then muttered, seeming to think about it. "I feel like I've known someone with that last name..."

"Oh?" Rene replied.

"And why is that?" he asked.

"It's clear you're not human, even though you look like one." he commented. "You don't smell like a human, and I do not smell blood running through your veins." he went on.

"And your warning has intrigued me even further." he continued.

"So what is your deal?" he asked her.

"What, exactly, ARE you?"
Posted in When Rules are Ignored Posted 6 years ago
"You continue to impress me." Rene responded.

"You were correct on ALL assumptions." he told her.

He then opened his mouth and showed her the razor-sharp teeth that were contained within.

"I always go right for the neck." he said.

"The looks of terror and fear, as well as the shock, in their frozen eyes are... sublime." he added, a cruel glee to his tone.

Again, Rene raised an eyebrow.

"You are FAR more knowledgeable than I had expected." he admitted.

"But yes. I am." he told her.

"Here is the seal." he said, lowering the shoulder of his shirt, and showing her a black wave-like tribal marking.

"It doesn't hide everything, though."
Posted in When Rules are Ignored Posted 6 years ago
Rene sighed.

"May as well say." he said.

"You're not human, anyway." he reasoned.

"I'm a Lantha." he told her.

"And that's all I'll say." he then said further.

"If you don't know what that is, that's not my problem." he finished.

Rene raised his eyebrow when he heard that.

"I can deal with that." he told her.

"Human meat can be quite fatty, but I don't mind it." he said.

"And bear meat is gamey and a bit tough, but it's a hard-fought and well-earned meal." he reasoned further, before pausing for a moment.

"So the bears won't bother you, eh?" he asked her.

The male stepped inside, and looked at the dust.

"Mm." he mumbled.

"Rene." he answered.

"My name's Rene." he said.

"And I'm not one to judge on the condition of one's place to live." he told her.

"At least you HAVE one."
Posted in When Rules are Ignored Posted 6 years ago
"As are you." the male responded.

"Your physical capabilities are far beyond what one would expect." he told her.

"Especially considering your apparent age." he went on.

"And yes, apparent." he clarified.

"I'm betting there's more to you than what one can see."
Posted in When Rules are Ignored Posted 6 years ago
The male nodded.

"Very well." he replied.

"I suggest you make haste." he told her.

With that, she saw him disappear under the water again, and saw his form move underneath the surface.

And he was fast.

Faster than one would expect. It was like his home was the water.

"Hm." the male mumbled.

"I admit, having an actual place to go would be beneficial." he said.

"Usually I disappear into the water, but since they saw me come out of here, it won't be a viable hiding spot." he reasoned.

"Fine." he then said.

"Where?" he asked her.
