".............." Jackson was silent for a moment, and then sighed.

"No comment." he replied.

"And sure." he said.

"I can show you to your dorm." he told her.

"Come on." he said, getting up and stretching.

"Let's go." he said further.

"And yeah, he's really nice." he continued.

"Bet he offered tea." he chuckled.

Jackson was silent for a moment, before looking off to the side.

"Uh..." he stammered.

"Uh, well..." he mumbled further.

"I mean... not like I had anything else to do..." he said.

"Figured... might as well wait..." he reasoned quietly.

"So! Uh, how was it?" he asked, changing the subject.

"How was Professor McCoy?"

Jackson nodded.

"Yeah. Okay." he replied.

"See you." he said to the both of them, before he stepped away, and Sierra stepped inside, closing the door behind her.

"Welcome to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters." the one behind the deck said to her.

"I am Professor McCoy. Headmaster." he introduced himself.

"Please. Have a seat." he offered her.

"Care for some tea?" he asked, his formality and politeness something she hadn't experienced in a long while.

"....your social standing...?" Jackson asked, before they approached a door.

"Oh." he said.

"I guess we're here already." he commented.

"Well... let's go in..." he muttered, before knocking on the door.

"Do come in." an educated and proper-sounding male voice announced.

Jackson nodded, and then opened the door.

When they did, Sierra noticed there seemed to be an animal sitting behind the principal's desk. However, the fur on this creature was clearly a deep colour of blue. And he was wearing a pair of glasses, and appeared to have been reading a copy of 'Infinite Jest'.

"Welcome." he greeted them.

"Hey, Principal McCoy." Jackson responded.

Jackson was silent as he heard that.

"....sixteen..." he said quietly, before shaking his head.

"Oh, right." he muttered.

"I'm fifteen." he told her.

"But... damn..." he mumbled.

"To die when you're sixteen..." he said further, sadness in his tone.

"I suppose so." Jackson responded.

"But then it all boils down to a match of wits and wills." he told her.

"...sometimes you're not prepared for such a battle..." he then sighed.

"But I ramble..." he added, shaking his head a little.

"If you don't mind my asking, how old are you?" he asked. "I mean... were you...?" he asked further, sounding a bit confused.

"Er... how old were you when you died?" he then managed to ask.

"The first time. I think." he added, shaking his head again.

"You know what I mean." he finished.

Jackson nodded, and started to lead her through the halls of the academy.

"A good way to live." he told her.

"But sometimes one needs to throw the first punch." he said.

"There are times when it will only get worse unless one takes the initiative." he reasoned.

"But they were humans." he went on.

"I try my hardest to never use my powers on humans."
Posted in Changing the Future Posted 7 years ago
"Ah, right." Jackson said.

"You're not alumni here." he muttered.

"Stands to reason." he said further.

"Anyway, I guess we better go." he told her, making his way to the door.

"Really shouldn't leave any of the staff waiting." he reasoned.

"It's not a good idea to be rude to your superiors in this place..." he then added.
Posted in Changing the Future Posted 7 years ago
"Well, thanks." Jackson replied.

"It's appreciated." he told her.

"So how are you feeling?" he asked her.

"You feel well enough to be up and about?" he asked further.

"Because you kinda have to see the professor." he then muttered, scratching the back of his head.

"Seeing as you're here in the school and all..."
Posted in Changing the Future Posted 7 years ago
"Hm. I see." he replied.

"Well... maybe the Professor can arrange something." he said.

"He helps all mutants in need." he told her.

"Oh, yeah..." he then muttered.

"I'm Jackson." he introduced himself.

"But maybe you already knew that." he chuckled lightly.
Posted in Changing the Future Posted 7 years ago
"Uh.... I would imagine not." he replied.

"You... clearly have more experience than I." he said.

"So... hey, listen..." he then muttered.

"Do you have... any place to go?" he asked her.

"Like... where do you live, or are you welcome anywhere?" he asked further.

"I ask because such a thing is... rare... for those like us." he commented.
Posted in Changing the Future Posted 7 years ago
"Yeah, skin contact." he replied.

"Mostly through my hands, though. Hence my always wearing these." he told her.

"Though not having to wear these would be great." he admitted with a small sigh.

"And... well, seems you've been around for a while." he commented, changing the subject.

"Seeing as you're speaking of a time before I was born." he went on, before pausing and thinking about it.

"Er... just how far back ARE you talking about?" he then asked her.

He was silent as she explained her powers to him, and gulped a little.

'Wow...' he thought.

'That's... terrifying...' he thought further, before gathering himself. She'd asked him the same question he'd asked her, so it would only be polite to answer it.

"Ah, yes." he replied.

"Mine's... well... I'm a gorgon, essentially." he told her.

"But my power isn't through my eyes." he said, holding up his gloved hands.
Posted in Changing the Future Posted 7 years ago
He just shrugged his shoulders.

"I don't have anything to hide." he said.

"Well... from other mutants, anyway." he muttered.

"So... that's your power?" he asked.

"You can turn into a ghost and separate from your body?" he asked further. "And... like... possess people and stuff?" he inquired.

"Or am I off base?"
