"Curiosity." Jackson admitted.
"Nothing more, nothing less." he said.
"Just noticed you were really paying attention in class." he went on.
"Was the first time I've seen it." he continued.
"So...... what do you think of this place?" he then asked.

Jackson opened his mouth to say something, but paused and closed it in silence.
"I..." he stammered.
"Huh." he said.
"That's... that's a good point, actually." he admitted.
"What other classes do you pay attention in?" he asked her.

Jackson couldn't help but wonder about this... but he didn't dare say anything in class.
Instead, he tried to pay attention (or at least fake it), and waited until class was over.
"Hey." he said to her when they were leaving.
"Question." he said further.
"What was with the alertness back there?" he asked.
"You sleep in all your other classes." he commented.
"Well... the ones you and I have together." he then clarified.

"..........." Jackson was silent as Sierra said what she did.
"........yes." he whispered.
He'd heard the smirk in her voice.
He could tell she was amused by this.
But she did have a point. This was stuff she already knew. And knew inside-out. So... there was really no point in her paying attention to this.
He then sighed and watched the front, as Sierra got comfortable again.

"Mister Reid!" the teacher snapped, causing Jackson to snap to attention.
"Y-yes, Miss Pryde." he said.
"Pay. Attention." she responded, before going back to the board.
Some students snickered slightly, and Jackson grumbled to himself as the lesson continued.
"Hmph." he muttered.
"Sucks..."

"You can't sleep." he whispered in response.
"This is class..." he told her.
"You need to pay attention." he went on, before snapping back as the teacher's gaze swept the class, looking over the two of them for an instant.
"Other there'll be trouble." he then whispered further.

"..............." Jackson was silent, before he looked around.
He then leaned in close to her.
"Psst. Hey." he whispered.
"Hey! Psst!" he whispered a little louder.
"Yo!" he mumbled, nudging her slightly.

Jackson just nodded.
"Yep." he replied.
"See ya." he told her.
With that, the two of them parted ways when she was at her dorm, and he started to make his way back to his own. As he did, something came to mind.
'....hm...' he thought.
'There's something... different... about how she talks...' he realized.
'But I have no idea WHAT...'

"Odds are we will." Jackson replied.
"It's a big building, but at the same time, it's small." he told her.
"I'm in the boy's dorm, obviously." he said. "Room 107." he continued.
"If you need anything, come knocking. Any time." he went on.
"Just try not to make it too early in the morning."

"Well, you do you." Jackson responded.
"Whatever it takes for you to get back on your feet, so to speak." he said, as they turned another corridor.
"Girl's dorms are down here." he told her as they walked.
"You'll be given books and materials and such, and you'll want to familiarize yourself with the rules here." he suggested.
"Overall, you should be fine." he went on.
"Most of the kids here are pretty awesome."

"Ah." Jackson replied.
"Well, talk to some of the staff." he told her.
"They'll be able to get you some things." he said.
"They're good for that." he went on.
"They really take care of those that need help. Provide a place where one can be safe and secure."

"I think some of the staff are investigating that." Jackson responded.
"But we've been told not to concern ourselves with that right now." he told her.
"We need to focus on our studies and training and all that." he went on.
"Uh... right..." he then muttered.
"What about... like... clothes and stuff?" he asked.
"Do you have anything like that, or possessions you want brought here?"

"It's unnerving." Jackson said.
"More and more mutants are being outed and... disposed of." he told her.
"And nobody knows how they're being found." he said further.
"...it's just scary." he went on.
"But... you're safe here." he assured her.
"The staff are pretty damn strong."

"Life?" Jackson asked.
"....it's good." he said.
"The world rejects and fears those like us." he sighed. "They either run, or attack, or whatever." he went on. "But you know that already." he mumbled.
"Not here." he said.
"Fights still happen, but... well... that's school, I suppose." he told her.
"Here we are accepted for who and what we are." he said. "We are not judged. We are taught, and we are here to try and create a world where mutants and humans can co-exist." he informed her.
"At least, that's what Professor Xavier had in mind when he founded this place." he then said.
"The staff here tries their best to continue his teachings and principles."
