"Huh?" he asked, looking over at the pool.

"Oh, hey Casey." he said, making his way over.

"And... bugging me? I... don't know if that's the wording I'd use." he told her.

"It's... hard to explain f I truncate it, so here's the story." he said further, sitting down close to the pool.

He then launched into the explanation, telling her about the hunt, the fae, the trip home, and everything he'd learned from Lindsay, as well as where the two of them were now, and what they were doing.

"So... now I have a wish. Apparently, I can have ANYTHING I want. Like... at ALL." he told her.

"It's like having the weight of the world on my shoulders for some reason." he sighed.

"....rather eerie." Ash muttered.

"But that's still kinda cool." he said.

"Anyway, later." he told them, before leaving the two of them to discuss matters.

He then made his way to the kitchen, grabbed a bottle of something from the fridge, and then made his way out to the backyard, not bothering to check if anyone else was out there.

"...the hell do I do?" he asked himself.

Lindsay was silent for a moment, before his eyes widened.

"...oh, my!" he exclaimed.

"Eh? Who?" Ash asked.

"Doctor-patient confidentiality." Lindsay responded.

"Hmph." Ash mumbled.

"Well, whatever, I'm going to leave you two to talk." Ash said.

"I assume you'll know how to find me afterwards?" he then asked Kylie.

Ash raised an eyebrow.

"You go around Fae circles?" he asked Lindsay.

"No..." Lindsay responded.

"I mean, I've met various different fae in my past, and we've shared information and stories, but we then part ways and I rarely, if ever, see them again." he said.

"...that explains it." Ash commented.

"It does?" Lindsay inquired.

"The information network of the Fae is... well... almost equivalent to the internet, in terms of connectivity and information sharing." Ash told him.

"Oh, of course." Lindsay replied.

"Especially given what you are." he added.

"Eh?" Ash asked.

"Voveo fae are... legendary, essentially." Lindsay replied to him. "They are known for always repaying a kind deed done to them out of sheer altruism." he said. "And they have the power to grant ANYTHING." he said.

"Like a djinn, but without the catch, sneakiness, and 'precise-wording' clauses?" Ash asked.

"Precisely." Lindsay responded.

"Anyway, people in the past were said to have thought that they were extensions of God himself... or herself... whatever they believed." he went on. "And they were sought after fervently, because they were thought to answer prayers." he continued. "This led to holy wars, which were... well... as pleasant as you would expect." he went on.

"And let's not forget those that were just greedy, and wanted them for their powers, so they could abuse them for it." he then added.

"Hmph." Ash muttered.

"All lowlife scum." he growled.

"Be that as it may, because of their past, they are few and far between to this day. You've really had a serendipitous encounter with her, Ash." Lindsay replied.

"Mm." Ash mumbled.

"Say, why are you so eager to talk to Lindsay about yourself, considering this past your kind has?" he then asked Kylie.

"....oh my God." Lindsay said quietly.

"An honest-to-goodness Voveo Fae!" he exclaimed.

"This is fascinating!" he said, before grabbing a ledger and a pen.

"You have to let me speak with you!" he told her.

"Eh-HEM!" Ash cleared his throat, deliberately loudly.

"...with your permission and consent, of course." Lindsay then added quietly, a hint of sheepishness to his tone.

"Hm." Ash muttered.

"I see." he replied.

"Well, I-" he started to say, before Lindsay returned.

Once there, he placed what looked to be a Bluetooth headset over one of his ears.

"All right, you can speak normally." Lindsay told her.

"This will allow me to understand you without you needing to shout or strain yourself." he said further.

"Now... I've only read scraps of info about a fae that can reduce a person down to size." he went on.

"Are you a... Voveo Fae?" he asked her.

Ash was clearly disoriented for a moment, and shook his head to clear it.

"Woah." he muttered.

"That's one hell of a trip." he said.

"Care to explain what's going on?" Lindsay asked.

"It's a bit of a story..." Ash mumbled, trailing off a bit, as Lindsay thought for a moment.

"Saaaay..." he muttered, looking at the fae.

"Be right back." he told them, before leaving quickly.

"...he's going to want to talk with you." Ash told Kylie.

Lindsay looked over towards the window, and saw a small figure there.

"...another one?" he wondered aloud.

He then made his way over to the window and opened it, allowing Ash to fly in.

"Thanks, bro." he said.

Lindsay's eyes widened considerably, before he rubbed them intensely.

"Uh.... all right, this was most certainly NOT something I expected to experience today." he admitted.

Lindsay was silent for a moment, seeming to be engrossed in the book he was reading, before blinking a few times in succession.

"...eh?" he muttered, looking at the bare skin that the coffee had hit.

Sure enough, his eyes drifted to where Kylie was, and he seemed to freeze for a moment.

"I..." he stammered.

"I... well. Hello, there." he greeted her.

"Not often I find a fae sitting on my coffee mug." he commented.

"Can I help you?" he then asked.

"The only pet in there is a black panther." Ash responded.

"Pet doors aren't... really useful." he muttered.

"But old cracks?" he then asked.

"Yeah... yeah, that might be possible." he said, before looking upwards at one of the higher windows.

"Huh." he muttered.

"The light is on in Lindsay's study and research room." he commented.

"Maybe we can get his attention and let us in."
Posted in Luck of The Fae Posted 7 years ago
"Huh." Ash responded.

"Cool." he said.

They spent the next couple of hours engaging in idle chitchat, and soon the Fyrane manor came into view.

"Damn." Ash muttered.

"That WAS fast." he said.

"Right." he told her.

"Hm... how to get in..." he mumbled.

"Don't think any of the doors and windows are open..." he said further, looking at the now-massive structure.
Posted in Luck of The Fae Posted 7 years ago
"That is very handy." Ash responded.

"I admit, that'd be really cool to have." he said.

He then looked around, taking in the surroundings.

"Wait..." he said.

"Hold on, hold on, hold on." he repeated.

"Is it just me... or are we travelling REALLY fast right now?" he asked her.
Posted in Luck of The Fae Posted 7 years ago
Ash was silent as she said that, and then nodded.

"Right." he said.

"Kylie." he repeated.

"Seems easy to remember." he commented.

"You seem to already know MY name..." he went on, trailing off some, before thinking some more.

"Do you, like, live around where I found you?" he asked.

"Or elsewhere?"
