"No, I don't want you to hurt yourself!" Levi cried.

"Damn it." Jaz cursed.

"What?" Levi asked him.

"There's... SOMETHING... attached to her." Jaz responded. "I don't know WHAT it is, but I'm willing to bet it's causing her to be like this." he said further.

"What do we do!?" Levi asked.

"Hell if -I- know, I don't even know what it is!" Jaz exclaimed in response.

"...." Levi was silent, and looked at Ally again.

"Whatever this is, Ally, just fight it... please..." he said to her.

"...." he was silent as her words mulled over in his brain, before his eyes showed that of pain and sadness.

"No..." he said quietly.

"No, that's not... no..." he said further.

He then wrapped his arms around her and held her in a hug, holding her close.

"Don't... don't do that..." he said.

"I love you, Ally... don't do this..." he pleaded, as Jaz hovered around on the wall.

'...all right, whatever you are...' he thought.

'Let's see how sensitive you are to those nightmares that he's connected to...'

"An error from the past? What?" Levi asked.

"Ally, you've never believed this." he told her.

"You know as well as I do that the past beliefs are stupid in that regard. You've told me. I've agreed with you." he continued.

"You don't deserve to burn. You never have." he went on.

"Why now?" he asked her as he set the extinguisher down and got closer.

"Ally, why are you thinking like this now?"

"OH MY GOD!" Levi exclaimed.

He quickly rushed to where one of their fire extinguishers was, grabbed it, and returned to where she was, to see that the flames were spreading a lot faster than he would have suspected.

"Holy crap!" he yelled, turning on the light and aiming the extinguisher at her.

He pulled the pin and squeezed the trigger, causing the chemical foam to spray out over her foot and leg, smothering and extinguishing the flames.

"Ally, what the hell are you doing!?" he asked the girl.

Jazgoth made his way through the house, up to the attic, where he found the young man she loved... Levi... sitting and meditating. It was something that he'd taken up recently, to help him with mindfulness and such.

"Hey!" the shadow shouted, causing Levi to jolt to being in 'reality'.

"What the...!?" he exclaimed, before seeing the shadow there.

"Jaz?" he addressed the shadow. "What are...?" he started to ask further, but Jaz interrupted.

"Just go down and see that girl. I get the feeling she's gonna do some stupid crap, and soon." he told him.

"...all right..." Levi said, getting up and making his way down from the attic, as Jaz shuddered.

"Hate that presence." he muttered.

Levi, meanwhile, made his way down to the ground floor, looking around. He saw where the light of the candle was coming from, and headed towards it, wondering what Jaz had been talking about.

"Come on, kid." Jazgoth responded.

"I know this is a new thing." he said. "There's no need to-" he continued, but she interrupted.

"GO." she said in a pained and stern voice, indicating that she was done with this conversation.

"..." Jazgoth was silent for a moment, realising that she'd called him by his full name, and not the nickname she'd given him early on in their partnership.

"Oh yeah?" he asked.

"That what you want, is it?" he asked her.

"Fine. I'll go." he told her, looking around, and then heading off in a specific direction. He needed to find someone to speak to about this.

"Woah, wait, what!?" the shadow exclaimed in response.

"Hold on, there no need to-" he started to say, before his own shadowed form seemed to tear itself away from her own shadow, and he became his own separate entity once more.

"The hell!?" he asked.

"What was THAT for!?" he asked her.

"Yeah, I know I'm an ass, but it's never caused you to do THIS crap!" he commented, sounding more worried now.

"What's the deal?" he asked further, before looking at her shadow and narrowing his eyes slightly.

As the flame on the candle continued to dance and sway, her shadow was thrown off to the side, moving and quivering slightly... until it seemed to grow eyes of its own, and another shadow emerged from within it.

"Hey!" it said, growing small demon horns.

"Hey! You!" it called out to her.

"The hell y'doing!?" it asked.

"Come on! Snap outta it, hey?" it asked further, as it fluttered about the wall, moving of its own accord.

"Stop crying at the candle, girlie!"

"...." Ty was silent again, before nodding.

"Yeah..." he said.

"Yeah, you're right." he agreed.

"I can't risk it. And I can't risk Miki seeing me like this. Or... like I was." he continued, getting to his feet.

"...thank you." he then told her.

"I'm pretty sure you just saved me from going down a very deep and depressing rabbit hole." he said.

"See, if I did it, then... that would be scary." Ty responded.

"Not because of... well, the deed itself. But... because I would have done it in the first place." he told her.

"I AM careless with my life at times, but... never for THAT reason. Well, not for a very long while, anyway." he clarified.

"And... do I think I'll do it again? I... don't know." he admitted.

"I don't want to try right NOW." he assured her.

"But... I can't help but fear that that way of thinking will enter my brain again. Or... I won't be able to connect the dots and realise it's a stupid idea."

"I... I..." Ty stammered.

"Yes." he said.

"Yes. I know EXACTLY why I was up here." he told her.

"I remember... just... feeling like I was a burden. But even though I know I've done so many good things for others... I just couldn't make the connection that I shouldn't have been feeling this way." he said.

"I haven't felt THIS way in a... wait... no, that's not accurate." he then mumbled.

"I wasn't feeling 'depressed', per se... I just... remember somehow coming to a conclusion of... well..." he went on, but trailed off at the end.

"Mira, I swear I don't know why that was happening, but it's frightening me that it was." he told her, and she could tell he was sincere with this... even if it made ZERO sense.

Ty flinched noticeably when she smacked him upside the head.

He looked towards her and she saw something in his expression. It was almost like his vision was clouded for a brief moment, and it was quick enough that she could have reasonably thought it was a trick of her own eyes.

"I..." he stammered.

"I... wait..." he then said.

"Wait... hold on, what AM I thinking!?" he exclaimed.

He then looked over towards the ledge once more, before jumping off the bench and scrambling away.

"What the HELL was I doing!?" he yelled further, and she could now hear the confusion and fear in his tone.

"...." Ty was silent for a moment.

"Hm." he mumbled.

"Yeah... I remember that." he said further.

And he did... but... something seemed... off... to Mira.

She could tell he remembered it. He wasn't lying. But... the connection wasn't being made.

Even though she had stated the exact opposite of what he was believing... and he acknowledged it as true... she could tell he wasn't piecing it together.

"Oh well." he sighed.

Ty was silent for a moment, before sighing heavily.

"That's sweet of you to say." he said, leaning forward a little and leaning his elbows on his knees.

"But how can I be?" he asked.

"I'm sure I haven't brought ALL bad things to her life, but how can they ever hope to outweigh the fact that I am such a damaged person, that Miki's unique talents make me dangerous to touch?" he asked her.

"My emotional issues would cause her the worst hell anyone could imagine." he said further.

"How can I live with that, and live under the same roof as her?"
