Hal checked over what she had signed, before nodding and filing them away.

"Let's go." he then said, standing up.

"I'll escort you to where you'll be staying." he went on.

"..." he was then silent, and sighed.

"And we'll do all we can to make it comfortable for you." he told her.

"...on that note, when was the last time you 'ate'?" he asked.

"Should we hit up the requisitions department?"

Hal was surprised to hear that.

"Ah... I admit, I didn't expect to hear THAT." he said.

"But... very well." he then said.

"If that is what you request, and if that is what you feel is best for yourself and others, so be it." he told her.

He then opened a filing cabinet and passed her a form.

"While it seems you have a lucid state of mind, sign and initial this." he said.

"It's a form that states that you are being locked up of your own volition." he told her further. "Red tape and such, so that this won't become a blotch on your career or anything." he reasoned.

"..." Hal was silent as he heard all that.

"Right." he said.

"Yes, that is certainly alarming." he agreed.

"And granted." he said, snapping his fingers.

Instantly, Aedan was overcome with a sensation of... nothing. Blackness. Total blackness. She couldn't see anything or really... feel anything. However, that didn't change the fact that she could 'feel' the darkness 'moving'.

As though the inky blackness that surrounded her was... 'alive'.

Jake watched her go, before looking forward again, puzzling over this.

"What could be so confusing and concerning for her, I wonder...?" he asked himself. "She lives with a friggin' demon. She should be immune to weird crap, combining that with all she's seen and experienced." he reasoned.

Meanwhile, her trip to Hal's office was an uneventful one, and she made it there quickly. After a... brief and curt exchange with the receptionist, the woman pressed the comm button.

"Agent Callimachi is here to see you." she said.

"Send her in." Sharp responded.

She didn't even wait, and entered the office.

"Something wrong, Aedan?" Sharp asked her.

Jake looked at her, nodded, and darted his tongue out.

"All right." he said.

"You're good to go." he told her, pressing the buzzer and letting her in.

"...what's up?" he then asked.

"You seem puzzled and... concerned over something." he commented, looking her up and down, but focusing on the minor details in her expression and overall mannerisms.

"Or is this a case of you can't really answer and hope the boss'll be able to grant those?" he asked her further.

"...." Cain was stunned to the point of silence for a moment, before he managed to nod his head.

"R-right." he said.

"Yeah... yeah I'll... I'll clean up here." he told her.

'What the hell...?' he then thought.

'What was that? Was she... possessed?' he asked himself. 'No... no, I would have seen what that... shadow was.' he reasoned, as he got to his feet and looked around the room, surveying the damage.

"Be careful, Mom!" he called to her.

"Something's not right, and I don't know what it is!"

Savra paused for a moment.

"What?" they asked. "What do you mean?" they asked her.

"Yep." Ryker responded.

"Did it all the time." he commented.

"Granted, it was... probably not in a very good context, as it was before I met YOU, but... well... hm." he then mumbled.

"How's about you just tell us whatcha mean." he suggested with a small laugh.

Cain had not known what that shadow was. And that concerned him. If it were demonic, then he would have been able to identify it right there and then... but it was a mystery to him.

He hadn't time to think about it, though, as he looked to his mother when she snapped at him.

"What was it about!?" he exclaimed.

"The hell is WRONG with you!?" he asked her.

"You're about to blow up the house and destroy everything we have, I tell you to stop, you refuse, I say I'll do it by force, and then you force my hand!" he told her.

"You have no right to be acting this angry and indignant!"

Cain was stunned at how his mother was acting.

The fact that she had so little regard for her own safety... her own life/unlife... the house that they shared... it was unreal.

And it hurt him. A lot.

He then gritted his teeth angrily, and got to his feet.

"...so be it." he said.

Then, before she could react, he leapt towards her. He left the floor and crashed into her, tackling her and sending them both flying to the floor.

"I'm stopping you! RIGHT HERE AND NOW!"

"...YOU'LL DESTROY EVERYTHING!" Cain shouted at the top of his lungs.

"If you do up the mix again, YOU. WILL. DESTROY. THIS. HOUSE." he stated, growing angrier.

"Mom, you KNOW this!" he declared.

"You've stopped me from doing it in the past, when I was younger and dumber!" he stated further.

"Mom, stop this! Now!" he practically ordered her.

"If you don't... I'll MAKE you." he then threatened.

"...what." Cain muttered.

"WHAT." he repeated.

"Mom! If THAT..." he said, gesturing to what was on the desk. "...and what you were about to complete are brought within 100 metres of each other, you KNOW the results are explosive." he told her.

"This house would have been leveled, everything would have been destroyed, and there would be nothing more than a smoldering crater here!" he went on.

"Is that what you WANT!?"

Cain grabbed the bag of sand that they had in case of emergencies, and dumped some on the fire to help smother it.

"What the fuck, you ask!?" he exclaimed.

"I'm stopping you from LEVELING the place!" he told her.

"I saw what you were making." he went on. "And I saw what was over there!" he continued, gesturing to what was on the other table.

"Do you WANT to destroy this house!?" he asked her.

"I don't see any neutralising crystals around, so yeah. I could ask you the same thing!" he told her further.

"What the HELL, Mom!?"

"That's how I reason it." Ciroc responded.

"Really, anything ill that may befall her is... of her own doing." he sighed.

Just as she was almost done preparing the second of them, her son stepped through the door after knocking lightly.

"Hey, Mom." he greeted her.

"Came to see if you wanted any-..." he started to say, before he noticed something on the table that was behind her... and something that she was preparing as he spoke to her.

"SWEET LORD, NO!" he yelled, rushing over and slapping something out of her hand.

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING!?"

Ciroc shook his head again.

"Firstly, that is a good attitude to have." he told her.

"It's a good way of looking at it." he said.

"Secondly, I DON'T know as to whether or not she's being sought out now." he said further. "It's something that's kept me awake at night." he admitted to her quietly.

"However... there IS someone in my world that is acting like she's my daughter." he then informed her. "Because my daughter has been 'missing' since she was little, this person has been able to convince the populace that she is, in fact, royalty, and my daughter." he continued.

"...and while I do not wish for anything to happen to her, it DOES take the focus off of my real daughter." he went on.

"Just a shame that this person knows not the danger of the waters she treads."
