“Oh my stuff dates way back..” he said thoughtfully, “London Blitz era even.” He smiled gently.

Once the elevators stopped at the entrance floor, she stepped out with the Doctor. “Not something I expected..” she said softly, watching the nurses mill about.

He gave her a warm smile, “Don’t be. It’s quite alright. Comes in handy, coming back from the dead.” He said cheerfully.

She looked over at the Doctor, quiet again. What was she supposed to say? Sorry Doctor, the elevator took me somewhere different. I don’t have a way to contact you, and decided to look for a way. Only instead I found some poor alien that you are glad is dead?

She hesitated, trying to figure out how to say it properly, but she couldn’t seem to. It upset her still on what she had said. Part of her told herself she was being stupid, she didn’t know what that creature was to begin with.. “I am sorry I wandered off.. and was trying to find a way to contact you. I apologize for being near a creature that you are glad is dead..” She said quietly.

He blinked a few times and smiled gently, “Can be. Feels like being dragged across a bed of nails anytime I do die and come back.”

She was quiet for a second and then smiled softly. “It’s nothing. I would just like to see another planet.” She said warmly, stepping inside the elevator.

“I can’t die.” He said softly, smiling a bit.

She stopped at the elevator, “Can we go somewhere else?” She asked softly.

“Earth needs a protector...” he said softly, “For when the Doctor isn’t here.. And the TARDIS doesn’t like traveling with an anomaly all the time. Messes with her systems if I stay too long.”

Her ears twitched a little, hearing that and she frowned a bit. O-okay. Odd comment.. She didn’t say anything though, just focused on the elevator, wrapping her arms around herself. She wasn’t so naive to think that death didn’t happen, but still.. to wish someone or something was dead?

She waited a brief moment and then headed for the elevator to wait for the Doctor.

“Oh yes.. very much so.” He smiled warmly at the thought. “I miss it sometimes.”

Artemis watched her, frowning. What was wrong with the creature that had her like this? It didn’t hurt her.. it didn’t even move. She was thinking it was in the hospital for a reason, maybe it was injured?

She looked down the dark hall, lost in thought. It wasn’t her fault the elevator went the wrong way..

He nodded, “She is- they both are.” He said softly, sitting back in his desk while the computer did it’s scan.

She went quiet, looking at the creature. She got the hint, moving away from the Doctor and waiting in the hall.
