Dreams of a birthday party that turned into a day at the park flooded in her mind. Dreams of a much happier time. Of a time where the three of them actually talked and spent time together instead of the now just two who turned to just one. But Kaneko was happy regardless. Her body was comfortable in its spot cuddled up to Allen, her hair fell across her face at some point in her sleep but the entire time she remained close to him. Close to the one person who meant the world to her. The one person she loved. She slept for hours and hours, until the sound of movement woke her. Still, she didn't open her eyes. She didn't want to get up and leave her comfortable spot, but she knew she had to. "Good morning Allen." She whispered quietly, feeling her hair tickle her nose, her fingers quickly brushed it away and her dark eyes slowly fluttered open to look upon the face of familiarity and safety. "D-did you sleep well? How's your wound? Does it hurt? What about your eyes? A-are you hungry?" She sleepily assaulted him with questions which in turn made her laugh sweetly. "I'm sorry for attacking you."

Ah right, the hair. Girls didn't usually just walk out of the house without brushing their hair first. Right. Guys, usually guys didn't really care since they didn't really have to style their hair as much as girls did. My bad for forgetting. I'll be more mindful going forward. Come on Clint, girls are different, they actually care about how they look. This was true. Girls were much more well groomed than guys. It's why girls took longer to do so much and guys were pretty quick. Well...some guys anyway. He wasn't going to generalize either. "Right, sorry about that." Clint apologized and looked at her bangs. Looked like someone needed a haircut, but that wasn't super important right now. Hair could be pinned back if it needed to be. "Alright, let's go." Clint led her out of the house, making sure to lock the front door behind them. When they got to his car, he opened the passenger's door for her then closed it once she had sat down. He walked around and climbed in behind the wheel then closed his door and started up the engine. Clothes shopping first. Alright then, this was going to be fun. Hopefully for her anyway. Putting on his seat belt, Clint adjusted the rear view mirror and skillfully started to back out of his driveway.

Kaneko was happy to see him sleeping, he needed it after the rough day they both had. Him more than her. Her body was tired, and it wasn't hard for her to get comfortable there in that bed. Her eyes watched the vampire sleeping beside her, she recalled the feral yell that had escaped his lips earlier today, it was frightening. But, looking at him now, it was hard to believe that he had let out such a yell as that. He looked so peaceful like he wouldn't hurt a fly. "Have a goodnight and sweet dreams Allen." She whispered, placing a soft kiss on his temple. Her head rested on the pillow and she curled up beside him, wanting to be as close to him as she could be without actually hurting him. Her eyes slowly fluttered closed and she was whisked away to dreamland.

"Well okay, if you want to learn then I will not stop you." It was probably better that way anyway. He wouldn't touch her clothes and she wouldn't touch his. Perfect. "Alright then umm...we should get going then." He said, going to grab the keys, wallet and his phone. "You want to buy clothes first?" he asked her. At least he'd have his phone to entertain himself with, he could always text his coworkers and just talk while he waited for Maddie to finish. As for money, he had a card she could use. He had good credit and he was always good about paying them off in time so that he wouldn't get bad credit.

Careful, don't need to be hurting yourself right now. Kaneko carefully followed after Allen who had now made his way to his old bed. His request made her smile. He didn't even need to ask, but she was happy that he did anyway. It showed he cared about her answer. "Of course I will. I promise I won't be gone long. I am just going to get your things and my shoes then I'll be right back here." She promised. She easily tucked him in and watched him for a while. "Rest well Allen." Kaneko carefully tiptoed her way out of there, wincing whenever she almost stepped on glass and once she was outside the room her feet took her back down the stairs towards the front door. The entire house was a time capsule. A time capsule that she didn't want to disturb. It was a piece of history, and even though it may have been bad, it was still historical. The front door opened with a small creak and she stared out into the woods that surrounded the large manor. Her shoes, right away she saw them in the distance.
Quickly she practically ran towards them only to come to a sudden halt at the clothes that lay there still. Kaneko walked around the clothes to pick up her shoes then walked back around and started to search for Allen's belongings. Paranoia set in rather quickly and her dark eyes constantly would dart around, looking to see if anyone or anything was watching her. The plastic bag was there, and her hand quickly snatched it up, some of its contents were still there, others strewn about the ground, so she carefully got to work on picking them up and making sure they had not dirt left before carefully setting them in the bag again. "Okay...that's everything." She said to herself. Once again, she looked around and then quickly made her way back to the front door. She was fine, they were safe for now.
Kaneko closed the door behind her and locked it then carefully made her way back to his room. Up the stairs she went, they creaked and groaned in protest beneath her weight; then she walked down past the study and approached the bedroom. Her shoes were set just outside the doorway and she tiptoed back inside with the bag in her hand. It was st down on top of the dresser of his along with her things. It had been a long day, they both could use some rest. Kaneko got under the bed covers and lay beside Allen, quietly so she wouldn't disturb him if he had fallen to sleep already.

Clint shut the water off and dried off his hands, just as the pitter patter of Maddie's footsteps neared. He turned around to look at her and chuckled. She looked so small. "H-hey.." He told her. His eyes locked on the clothes she held in her hands and raised an eyebrow. "Right, the laundry room. Right this way." It wasn't really a room. It was more just a large closet at the end of the hall. The doors opened outwards and inside was the washing machine, the dryer, and a bin for the dirty laundry to go into. "Just toss it in the bin and I'll wash it afterwards. U-unless you'd prefer to wash it on your own t-that's okay and I totally understand." Clint assumed that Maddie wouldn't want him cleaning her laundry, that was very personal to some people so if she wanted to do it herself he'd be okay with teaching her how to do it.

Kaneko nodded even though he couldn't see her doing so. Okay, so his room was past the study. Okay, easy enough right? Right. Why was she freaking out? She was going to see a room she had never seen before, she coudln't help but be a little excited. It was like it was with anything really. Everyone either feared or became excited when it came to the unknown. It was like opening a wrapped up present that you had to hold off on for a few days. The anticipation was there. What would she see behind the closed door? Would it be a time capsule of a history long forgotten? Would there be parchment papers strewn across the floors with secrets all over them? Would she see photographs of what his life was like while he lived here? Okay, Kaneko was letting her imagination run a little wild. "R-right...okay then Allen." He voice was soft, her eyes vigilant. Her feet carefully treading the aged wooden floors. When they arrived at a closed door, she held her breath.
Her eyes widened as the door knob was turned and the door was opened, revealing a room in total chaos. Broken shards of glass were on the floor, broken lamps lay on the floor, cracked. Destroyed, unplugged. Again, Kaneko nodded, her eyes on the floor as she tiptoed around the glass to keep herself from cutting up her feet. Even if she did have socks, that wouldn't protect her from the glass sticking into her skin. So this was it. This was Allen's room... Wow! I wonder what it must have been like sleeping in here. Although...looking around it doesn't look like it was ever a happy occasion in this room. If these walls could talk, I wonder what stories they would tell. The bed itself looked comfortable though. Many questions littered her mind, but they were all locked away. She didn't want to ask questions about this. This was a part of Allen's life that he wanted to forget and she didn't want to be the one to bring it up again.

(This is going to be interesting. lol)
Walking to the kitchen, Clint busied himself on washing the dishes. Why was he so nervous? Maybe because he'd never gone shopping with a girl before. Did girls take long shopping? That's what his coworkers complained about sometimes. His clothes were going to look so strange on Maddie, but maybe it would be enough to keep her under the radar while they were outside of the house. A list! She needed to make a list of things she'd need now that she was staying here. Well...what exactly did she need? Whatever she needed, she was the only one who would know where to get it right? Oh man this was going to be so weird! Relax Clint! It's just shopping, don't make it a big deal. You'll be in and out before dark for sure. That was only because he was sure she'd be tired and want to get some sleep after shopping so much. Though stores were usually open pretty late. If anything, he'd be up late, get little sleep, and go to work strung up on coffee. Yeah, that should work fine right?

Kaneko looked in the direction he was facing. The forbidden area, the place she had not been allowed to enter. Now she was breaking rules, she didn't want to take him there if he wouldn't be comfortable in there. Turning to face him, she looked troubled as if she were debating with herself. Regardless of where he slept, she'd have to go in there to grab his clothes. He looked troubled too. The way his head hung, his eyes lowered, he didn't want to go in there. "Allen, would you feel more comfortable sleeping in your study instead? We don't have to go in there if you do not wish to. We can hold it off for another day. We can go in there tomorrow if you wish it. But...if you wish to do so now just let me know. I just want you to be comfortable. When I first arrived here, I was told not to go that way and I don't wish to go there unless you are very certain that you are ready to go there." Kaneko realized she probably sounded like a mother talking to her child. It was unintentional, he was not a child.

This was going to be interesting. "Right..o-okay then. Well if you'll just follow me, I'll show you to the restroom. Then I'll go get you a clean change of clothes and bring it to you. Umm, and don't worry, I'll wait outside the store patiently." Clint assured her. Standing from the table, he took the dishes and set them near the sink then motioned for her to follow him. He led her down a hall and stopped in front of a door. "This is it. There's also one in each bedroom just so you know. Wait here while I go and get you some clothes." Clint turned and left to his own room. He searched his drawers and pulled out a clean change of clothes for her to wear. It was probably going to fit her big but well...it was only for the time being. Walking back out of his room, he approached her once more and held out the pile of clothes. "Here you go. Umm, use any towel you want in there." He said to her politely.

Kaneko realized just then that her shoes were outside. Another thing she would look for. But first, Allen needed to be properly tucked in and once she had everything she needed, then she could properly watch over him. "Alright, come along." Her hand held on to his own as her feet led her towards the stairs and up them. The floorboards creaked beneath their weight, but she was confident her foot wouldn't fall through. They were still pretty sturdy despite their age. It was strange, being back in here in this home. If it weren't for the memories attached to it and the fact that people could easily find them here, she wouldn't mind living here. Allen though, would rather be away from this place and she could understand why. Now more than ever. Once at the top of the stairs she turned to look at him. "Do you remember which way your room was located?" She asked quietly. His room, this would be the first time she'd ever see it. The first and last time.

Kaneko giggled, shaking her head. "I'm sure your room is just fine sir Allen. Thank-you for agreeing to stay until tomorrow. It's just that I worry your wound would possibly re-open again if we left right now. Perhaps by tomorrow it will be just a tiny bit safer." Perhaps it would be, perhaps it wouldn't make a difference. What had happened outside was tucked away in the farthest corners of her mind, it still sent shivers up her spine whenever she thought of it. The man had said he left to let Allen give in to instincts. That didn't make sense. If he wanted Allen to follow his instincts then why didn't he stick around and teach him? Well, that was a question that would remain unanswered. Allen was not like that man, Allen was not dangerous or terrifying. No. He was a familiar feeling to her. A feeling of safety, happiness. His voice calmed her nerves, simply holding his hand was enough for Kaneko to do anything for him. Even though his body was cold, he was the warmth in her life. The little glowing flame deep in her heart that filled her with ease when she was on the edge of breaking down. Her forehead rested gently against his own and a shy smile appeared on her face. He really was too kind to her. "I believe you, and I will make sure no one hurts you anymore." They would be okay. In a place where no one knew who they were, where no one from here could find them. Surely they'd be safe then. "Come now, let's get you in bed and tucked in. You need to rest in order to heal."
