".....yeah...." Azazel muttered.

"And normally, djinns are too strong to scry for. Their mana blocks it out." he said further. "Hence why they're so elusive." he reasoned.

"Very odd..." he mumbled.

"Regardless, good luck in scrying for him." he then said.

"Because yeah, it IS strange for the both of them to be unreachable." he added with a small sigh.

"Got it." Azazel replied.

He then proceeded to do so, giving her an ounce of his blood.

"Done!" he called to her.

He then stepped away from the container, and sighed.

"Scrying for our son..." he muttered.

"SOMETHING'S up..."

".......I'll be right there." Azazel replied.

And sure enough, within a minute, he was there. And he had a strange curved dagger in hand. One that was covered in runes and markings.

"Right." he said.

"You said blood?" he asked.

"This dagger will cut me and let you take out as much as you need." he informed her.

"......" Hal was silent, before sighing audibly.

"Yeah." he said.

"Just... please make haste." he told her.

"It's unlike Cain to keep her out so late, and it's not like Lunet not to tell me when she'll be late." he reasoned.

"I really am worried something's happened." he reiterated.

"But I'll leave you to do your search."

"Ah... yes." Hal muttered.

"Yes, that's... true." he said.

".....actually, scrying for a djinn would work, as well." he told her.

"Long story." he mumbled.

"Just... scrying for a djinn may yield results as well, even though that usually doesn't work."

"...damn it." Hal cursed.

"Neither of them are answering their phone." he told her.

"And none of their usual haunts have said they've seen them." he went on.

"I'm worried, Aedan." he then admitted quietly.

"What if something's happened...?"

"I'm sorry." Ryker replied.

"I'm sorry you went through that." he said. "I didn't think it would be such a horrible ordeal for you." he went on, guilt in his tone.

"I honestly thought it would help." he lamented.

"....I'll make sure you never have to go through that, again." he then promised.

"As your brother, I'll do all I can for you."

"Yeah." Cain replied.

"Let's go." he said, as they got up from the table.

As they did, one of the staff members, a new hire, stepped aside and made a phone call.

"They're moving." they whispered.

Some time later, Aedan received a call from Hal.

"Aedan, are Cain and Lunet over there?" he asked.

"They haven't returned here." he told her, concern in his tone.

"Oh, probably." Cain replied.

They spent the next little bit talking, before Cain suddenly stopped and looked a bit... off.

"Hm." he muttered.

"Perhaps it's time for us to go." he said.

"I feel a bit... off." he commented.

"Not... necessarily sick, but... I feel weird."

"...." Cain was silent, before sighing.

"I get the feeling if your father could have fixed your eyes by now, he already would have." he commented.

"Regardless, it's cool you get to be like this for now." he told her, taking another drink.

"Have you done anything cool since becoming like this?" he asked. "Or just been using mana to go from place to place?" he asked further with a small laugh.

"I know it's rather handy to do." he said.

"SO glad I got that from my Dad."

"Huh. Interesting." Cain replied.

"That is fascinating." he told her.

"And I can kind of understand how you feel." he then said. "I mean, I AM half-demon, so... yeah, I can get where you're coming from." he went on.

"Still, that's really cool." he reiterated.

Unbeknownst to them, though, a pair of ears were listening to them. Listening, and planning.

"That is really cool." Cain replied.

"I... was unaware that that could be a thing." he admitted.

"...so... how is it?" he asked.

"It must be really weird for you to not be human." he said further.

"What's the most noticeable?"

Cain was silent for a moment, almost stunned.

"Ah..." he stammered.

"Wait a second." he muttered.

"A taste of WHAT he is?" he asked her. "I know your statement implies that he isn't human, and he made it so that YOU'RE not human..." he went on, trailing off a bit at the end, and thinking.

"...but I've never actually been outright told what he is." he admitted.

He then leaned in close, so they could whisper.

"Are you saying you have the capacity to... grant wishes now?" he asked her. He wasn't sure if Hal was a genie or a djinn, but he suspected one of them, and wasn't about to make any more assumptions on top of that.

"....hm." Ryker muttered.

"I think so." he admitted.

"And perhaps some of my temper IS rubbing off on you." he then said further with a bit of a wry chuckle.

"But if you really feel like you could hit someone, or need to, there's always me." he offered. "Because of what I'm becoming, I'm durable as all hell, and I've learned I can actually heal back from serious injuries." he went on.

"Granted, extremely severe injuries DO still pose a serious threat, but if you want to break a bone or two in me, I can bounce back no problem." he added with another small laugh.
