Zeke's eyes widened a little... and he suddenly felt a surge of rage within him. Half of him was screaming out to do something, and to do something NOW.

Something... drastic.

Instead, he walked forward, and authoritatively placed his hand on Lunet's mothers' shoulder. His grip threatening to be crushing, if need be.

"Excuse me." he said.

"I don't think that kind of behaviour is appropriate here." he commented.

"Or anywhere." he added.

Zeke nodded.

"Of course." he replied.

There was some silent communication between Zeke and Angela... communication that said 'this won't end well'.

Zeke then led the woman towards the room where Lunet was in.

"She is in here." he informed her.

"...admittedly, that's a difficult question." Zeke answered.

"How she arrived in this part of the world, we don't know." he admitted.

"However, when we found her, she was in the hands of someone that intended to kill her." he then said. "We rescued her, and brought her here." he went on.

"From there, we contacted you." he continued.

"So, the long and short of it? She was a victim of kidnapping and attempted murder."

"Welcome, Ms. Evans." Jake greeted her, grimacing internally.

'Fitting name.' he thought. 'She reeks of alcohol.' he tought further. 'And various other things, too.' he realised, before sighing quietly.

"And very well. Zeke here will take you to Agent Sharp, head of this organization." he told her, handing her a visitors pass.

"Charmed." Zeke said to her, his tongue so far in his cheek he was afraid it would somehow break through the skin and muscle tissue.

"...." Hal was merely silent, before sighing.

"Indeed I do." he agreed, though she wasn't there.

After some time had passed, Jake was aware that they would be receiving a guest at the Unit... specifically, Lunet's mother. He was waiting at the security desk for her, and Zeke was there as well, assigned to escort her to Hal's office.

"...I have a bad feeling about this." Jake muttered.

"You too, huh?" Zeke replied, shaking his head and sighing.

"I don't, either." Hal replied.

"But we can only wait and see what happens." he said.

"I hate it, but it's all we can do." he lamented.

"She'll be here within the next 24 hours." he continued.

"And we'll see how things go from there." he went on.

"....I'm sorry, Angela." he then apologised.

"I'm growing rather fond of Lunet, myself." he admitted.

"I hope we don't have to let her go."

"............" Hal was silent, before sighing heavily.

"...I'm not going to lie, I want that, too." he admitted.

"You would provide a loving environment for her. You would care for her and love her, and being with Olivia would probably be a great boon for her." he reasoned.

"Granted, I wonder if you'd strain yourself too much, given how busy you already are with Liv..." he then admitted. "But I'd be more than willing to give you a shot." he told her.

"We'll just have to see how this encounter goes first." he added with a light sigh.

"....we have established contact with her." Hal responded, his tone unimpressed.

"And already, I have a bad feeling." he told her.

"She was not surprised by where Lunet is." he continued.

"She did not even sound worried." he went on.

"Even though we have arranged transport for her out here, as well as accommodations, she seems to be angry and unimpressed to have to come out here for her daughter."

"......yeah." Zeke muttered.

"I know whatcha mean." he said.

"It's... it's just not fair." he commented.

"It's not fair that this has happened to her, and made her the way she is now." he went on.

"But maybe this will end up being something that spurs her onto greatness, ultimately."

Zeke nodded in response.

"I understand." he said.

"Trust me, I do." he assured her.

"She's so scared, so timid. It's almost like she thinks that everything she does will result in some sort of horrible punishment." he went on.

"...it's frightening." he continued.

"And it makes my archangel DNA rage."

Got it. Hal responded.

I'll call off the search. he texted her.

On her way back to the medical wing, she ran into Zeke, who smiled when he saw her.

"Hey." he greeted her.

"Good idea with Liv." he told her.

"Seems like Lunet is more comfortable talking to those close to her own age."

About a few seconds later, she received a text back.

Oh, thank heavens. it read.

Do you want to discuss this in person? the next one asked her.

If so, let me know where and when. the last one read.

There was then a pause. Obviously Hal was letting Angela respond to them, without it being a barrage of texts.

Zeke just chuckled lightly, and nodded.

"Sure thing." he replied.

"Have fun, you two." he told them, before getting up and leaving them, heading out of the cafeteria.

"..." he was silent, before sending a text to Angela.

Liv and Lunet are talking now. Socialising. he sent to her.

Zeke just smiled.

"Hey." he responded.

He then looked to Lunet, and sighed quietly.

"It's all right." he told her.

"This is Olivia." he introduced Liv.

"Liv, this is Lunet." he then told the newcomer.
