Tyson laughed in response.

"That's helpful." he said.

"And I can tell you're really new." he then told her.

"You don't even have your employee badge yet." he said further.

"Odds are you'll get it tomorrow." he reasoned.

"There any questions you have, or anything I can help with?" he then asked her.

".....indeed they can be." he agreed after a pause.

"Well, that explains THAT." he said.

"Welcome to the Unit, kid." he said further.

"How've you been finding the place so far?" he asked.

"This place can be a bit overwhelming for newbies."

Tyson was silent for a moment.

"...eh?" he muttered.

"That's... that's a shame, to say the least." he said.

"But why, if you don't mind my asking?" he then asked.

"Why would you cause serious harm to those you care for?" he asked further.

"You don't... seem like the type that would."

Ryker nodded and got himself ready as well. They packed up the tent, as well as everything else, and he sighed.

"This way." he told him.

The two of them then started walking, and reached a rather serenely flowing riving in about 8 minutes or so.

"Here." he said.

"Careful, it has its deep points."

The man paused for a moment.

"Ah, name's Tyson." he then introduced himself. "Agent Tyson King." he said further.

"And YOU found HIM?" he then asked.

"That's... extremely impressive." he complimented her.

"Guess that might explain why he hired you." he said with a chuckle.

"But why did you seek him?" he asked.

"What made you think THIS was the place for you?"

The man paused for a moment, before shaking his head.

"Was not my intention." he said, approaching her and sitting across from her.

"So." he then said.

"I hear you're the newest employee." he commented.

"How'd Sharp find you?" he asked.

She'd just started eating when ad adult male, looking to be in his early 30's, stepped into the cafeteria.

He looked around at the mostly empty space, but his eyes locked on Peyton's back.

"......." he was silent, before making his way to the food bar at the head of the room.

"Whose kid is that?" he asked the one behind it.

"Kid?" they responded. "She's the newest employee." he told him.

"....seriously?" the man asked.

"....hm." he mumbled.

He then got a few things for himself, before turning towards Peyton, and starting to make his way over towards her.

Ryker was silent for a moment, and raised an eyebrow.

"Big fish?" he asked.

"....you've intrigued me." he said.

"All right, you're on." he told Eke.

"Show me what kind of 'big fish' you can catch."

"You're welcome." Sharp replied.

"And welcome to the team." he said.

With that, he left with the person that had arrived, and Peyton was left alone in her apartment.

Her own apartment.

Sure, it was technically part of the place she worked at, but she had the key to the place. This was her own place. Free to do whatever she wanted inside it.

And she knew that wasn't an exaggeration, as she noticed a wall panel with a display on it, showing the level of sound dampening, and it specifically mentioned it was for incoming sound.

Which meant that if one of her neighbours was being too loud, whether via music or something else, she could turn it up and essentially mute them... and others could do the same if SHE ever got too rowdy.

"Footstool?" Sharp asked.

"A couple." he said.

"There's one in the closet, and one under the bed." he told her.

It was at that point, someone came running down the hallway.

"Agent Sharp, Agent Sharp!" they called out, urgency in their tone.

"Excuse me." Hal said.

He then met with the person outside the apartment, and she heard talking for a few moments.

"Excuse me." he said to her.

"Something's cropped up that needs my attention." he informed her.

"Feel free to explore the entirety of the building, except for the obvious 'authorized personnel only' places." he finished.

"Well, hopefully you'll be used to it soon enough." Sharp replied.

With that, they left his office, and he took her through the building, straight to where her apartment was. It took about 5 minutes to get there, and when they arrived at the door, he handed her the key.

She opened the door, to find the place fully furnished.

Everything she could ever need was there, including a large queen-sized bed.

"That door leads to the bathroom." Sharp told her, gesturing to a door to their right.

"Any issues with this apartment?" he then asked.

Sharp grabbed something out of the safe, before returning to his desk.

He checked the paper, before nodding and placing it in the file folder he'd been looking at previously.

"I'll get this sorted later today." he told her.

"Your first pay will be via cheque, but every subsequent one will be done with direct deposit, and your stub will be delivered to your apartment." he said.

"Speaking of which..." he then said further, showing her the key he'd gotten from the safe.

"I believe it's time for you to see your new home." he smiled.

"Perfectly understandable." Sharp replied.

"And we'll have something more specifically for you made up, in terms of a glamour piece." he told her. "Something you can activate more quickly and/or subtly, and more tailored to your preferences." he went on.

"You'll need to speak with R&D about it." he said further.

"Anyway, before we get to your apartment, I believe you should have something for me." he then went on.

"Something from the bank to get the direct deposit to go through?" he asked her, before making his way to a small safe that was on one of the corner tables in the office.

"Enter." she heard Sharp say from behind the closed door.

When she did, Sharp looked at her and smiled.

"Ah, welcome back." he greeted her.

"Took a bit longer than I expected." he admitted. "Was there a lineup at the bank or something akin to that?" he asked her.

He then reached for a folder, and started to flip through its contents.
