Steff got out of bed and brushed off his clothes.

"Right then." he said.

"To waffles!" he declared.

With that, the two of them made their way downstairs, where there were waffles and sausages already on the table.

"Ohhh, that looks good." he commented.

"Thank you." Vincent replied.

"Feel free to dig in." he told them.

"I could have." Ryker replied.

"But then I wouldn't be able to look at myself in a mirror ever again." he muttered.

"....." he was then silent, before sighing, smiling, and placing a hand atop Eke's head.

"And yeah." he said.

"I will keep you safe." he told him.

'I promise."

Steff's eyes opened fully, and he sat up.

"All right, I'm up!" he declared.

"I wanna eat some of that." he told her.

"Then go back to bed." he went on.

"After all, you turning on the nightlight woke me up earlier." he said further... before acquiring a concerned look in his eyes.

"Are you all right?" he asked her.

Every time she poked him, he groaned and squirmed a little.

Until, eventually, he opened one of his eyes.

"Ngh!" he grunted loudly.

"Whaaaat?" he asked her.

"I'm tiiiired." he whined. "Let me slee-" he said, before he paused, sniffing the air.

"Hm?" he muttered.

"Something smells pretty good." he commented.

Vincent chuckled when she said all that.

"Well, I AM making enough for three." he told her.

"If you want to see if he wants to get up and eat, feel free." he said.

"But don't pressure him." he went on.

"So yeah, go and see if he wants some breakfast." he told her.

"Odds are it'll be finished by the time you get back down here."

"I'm making some waffles and sausages." Vincent told her.

"I also made some juice." he said further.

"I'm willing to bet you've got a powerful hunger after what you went through last night." he continued. "While not as traumatic as a tainted-aligned necromancer, you still expended a lot of energy during the night." he reasoned.

"Sound good?" he asked.

"They'll be done in a couple of minutes." he then added.

Ryker sighed again, before going and getting the wheelchair, pushing it over. He then helped Eke into it, and looked out the window.

"Well... weather seems nice." he said.

"I suppose it's all right for you to at least stay on the grounds." he muttered.

"It is." a nurse replied as she passed by.

"Well then." Ryker said, looking back at Eke.

"But be warned, as soon as the weather starts to get worse, we're going back inside." he told him. "And we can't be outside forever. You need bed-rest."

"Mm." Vincent mumbled.

"But yes, you should try it out." he told her.

"Try something simple." he said.

"A little anything that you could easily do before last night." he said further.

"And yes, last night." he clarified. "You've been asleep for only about 9 hours or so." he confirmed.

"But I'll bet those simple things will be like second nature to you." he chuckled.

Vincent just smirked.

"I was tipped off." he said.

"By someone that cares about you very much." he told her.

"Also, I know when it happened, as your mana illuminated the entirety of the manor for close to an hour." he then said further.

"So much so, you even woke your brother up for a bit." he chuckled.

"Which is how you know that your mana glows brightly." he added.

"Been here a bit." Vincent replied.

"I'll bet you're also feeling refreshed, and like a weight's been lifted off your shoulders." he then said.

"Like you've possibly experienced some kind of growth spurt, of sorts?" he went on.

"....yes...." Aimee responded, sounding confused.

Vincent just chuckled.

"Not surprising." he said.

"After all, your mana matured, and you've gone through the necromancer's control trial." he informed her.

When she reached the kitchen, she found Vincent standing there. He looked over towards her, and smiled, having heard her coming a few seconds ago.

"Ah, you're awake." he said.

"Good morning." he greeted her.

"Breakfast's almost ready, if you want some." he told her further, turning his attention back to the food.

"How'd you sleep?" he asked.

As soon as she fell asleep, she dreamed that she was alone on a raft, adrift in an endless white ocean, and the waves were becoming more and more turbulent.

But just as it felt like she was ready to fall into the water, everything seemed to calm down, and she was suddenly showered with a refreshing white rainfall.

And the next thing she knew, the smell of breakfast reached her nose, and... she woke up.

She was in her bed, and the smell of waffles and sausage filled the room... which meant someone was downstairs making some breakfast.

And considering it wasn't even 10AM, it sure as heck wasn't Steff.

Uriel blushed a little when she called him Yuri, before nodding in response.

"Yeah, you do that." he said.

With that, he turned around, and vanished in a pillar of light that lasted for no more than a split-second... and he was gone without a trace. Almost.

He'd left a single white feather, floating to the ground in front of her.

It was something he'd taken to doing, as she said she had a use for them, after all.

"Sure." Uriel responded.

He then effortlessly lifted her up in his arms, before using his wings to float gently down to the ground below. And it was easy to tell that it was, in fact, effortless for him. Then again, heavenly strength made it kind of expected.

Once they touched down, he let her own feet touch ground, before letting go.

"Take something for that." he told her.

"Seriously. A migraine out of nowhere is concerning, especially when you don't really have a history of them." he finished.
