Vincent just pinched the bridge of his nose when Aimee said all that.

"Your literalness is a real pain sometimes." he said.

"But I want you to have your individuality." he told her.

"I don't want you to feel like I don't trust you." he went on.

"Because... I do."

".............." again, Vincent was silent, before looking at her.

"Oh?" he asked.

"Is that so." he said.

"Aimee LeBlanc, I can tell when you're deciding to have fun at my expense." he told her.

"You are deliberately withholding information." he said further.

"ARE you having fun?" he then asked.

Vincent was silent as Aimee said what she did.

"....hm." he muttered.

"I might want to meet this Yuri fellow." he told her.

"Just to see what kind of man he is." he said further.

"After all, there are a lot of people on this earth capable of hiding their true nature." he reasoned, looking out the window and sighing.

"Sadly, it's said that only those in the afterlife truly wear who they are on their sleeves." he mumbled.

".........." Ryker was silent as Eke said what he did, before wheeling him inside.

When he did, he was immediately chastised by one of the nurses.

"Be more careful next time, you don't want him to catch cold." she said to Ryker.

"...yes'm." Ryker muttered.

"Come on, let's get you back to the room." he told Eke.

"........" Vincent was silent as Aimee said what she did.

Steff was quiet as well, before he slipped out of the room, not wanting to get caught in any potential crossfire here.

"See you both later!" he called to them as he slipped away.

"Aimee, I'm serious." Vincent commented.

"I don't want you being hurt. Physically or emotionally." he told her.

"I worry about you. And I don't want some unreliable violent person getting close to you." he continued.

"He doesn't sound like a safe person, at all."

"......I'm sorry?" Vincent asked her.

"Oh boy." Steff muttered.

"Violent? Uncontactable?" he asked.

"All right, those do NOT sound like qualities I want in someone that's going to be close to my adoptive daughter." he said to Aimee.

"I don't want him hurting you." he told her.

"And I don't want him disappearing on you, leaving you behind with potential scars from knowing him."

"..........." Ryker was silent as Eke did what he did and said what he said, before sighing quietly.

"If you say so." he replied.

He then looked skyward, and looked at the clouds.

"Looks like it's gonna be a massive thunderstorm." he commented.

"Like the clouds are just gonna rip open and let loose all the water and electricity they got."

"Oh, nothing." Steff replied.

"Just imagining Vincent meeting your man." he said, getting up.

"Don't tease your sister." Vincent said to him.

"I'm not." Steff responded.

"Okay, maybe I am." he admitted after a pause.

"But to be honest, Yuri's not your average man. To understate it." he said further.

"As long as he's good to Aimee, that's enough for me." Vincent told him in response.

"Eh?" Vincent asked.

"What do you mean by that?" he asked her, as Steff just snickered.

"Heh. Heh. Awesome." he muttered to himself, before yawning.

"...okay, I'm going to take a nap." he then told Vincent and Aimee.

"I feel ready to drop." he said.

"Well, you WERE woken up in the middle of the night." Vincent reasoned.

Vincent nodded in response.

"Indeed." he said.

"And his name is Yuri?" he asked.

"...that's a Russian name, yes?" he asked further.

"Nickname." Steff said.

"Oh." Vincent responded.

"She's called him a godsend." Steff then said with a knowing smirk.

"I doubt it." Vincent replied.

"She's a friend of mine from a LONG time ago." he said.

"But Aimee or I don't know her." Steff commented.

"I know it sounds strange, but it's really quite innocent." Vincent assured him.

"She's a sweet lady, and the nicest woman I've ever known."

"A guardian angel?" Vincent asked.

Steff just smirked.

"Aimee has a booooyfriend." he said in a sing-song teasing tone.

"Now, now.'' Vincent said to him.

"Is this true?" he then asked Aimee.

"You have someone in your life looking out for you?" he asked her.

"...and is what Steff says about your relationship with him true?" he inquired further.

Ryker sighed as he looked to the sky.

"You know our deal." he said.

"I know you'd like to stay out here in the rain, but not when you're so fresh out of surgery." he told him.

"Could lead to nasty complications." he said further, as he started to take him back to the hospital.

As he did, Eke felt a drop or two on his arms.

"Oh wow, it's picking up quickly." Ryker commented.

"A few weeks or so." Vincent responded.

"Oh?" Steff asked.

"That's a lot longer than usual." he said.

"Well, I can't be a roamer forever." Vincent responded. "Being nomadic is fun and all, but I should be around for you two more." he reasoned.

"That, and I should be around in case something unforeseen happens with Aimee's mana." he then said further.

"I worry about you two." he added.
