".............." the man was silent for a moment, before clearing his throat.

"I am impressed that you didn't react to my warning shot." he said.

"It seems you've improved since my capture." he said further.

"But... I'm through with giving warnings." he finished.

Without another word, he fired another of the custom stake bullets right at her chest.

"See, that's the issue." the man replied.

"All of a sudden, you think your kind and others deserve these rights." he said.

"And somehow the world agreed to that shit." he growled.

"I say no." he told her.

"I say that we're on the route that ends with the extinction of humanity." he snarled further, as he took out the stake-gun from earlier.

Without another word, he fired one of the stake ammo straight at her.

"Hm. I see." Ryker muttered.

He was then silent as they set up camp, and he made sure the tent would be comfortable to sleep in.

"All right, all set." he said.

"Also, I'm sleeping by the entrance." he told him.

"That way you'll have to step over me in case you get called out again... and you'll end up waking me up." he explained.

"I'm a light sleeper."

The man continued to stare at her, before he removed his helmet, revealing a scarred face, rough stubble, messed brown hair, and piercing grey eyes.

"You." he said.

"Because of you, I was sent to languish at the hands of those that would harm humanity." he told her.

"This ends now." he then proclaimed.

"I will destroy you right here and now, and I will continue where Helsing left off in the past." he continued.

"And this won't go as it did last time we met."

Just as she finished thinking that, the driver, aimed something at her. It looked like a weird hybrid of a pistol and a crossbow. He then shot what looked to be a miniature stake that had a strange aura around it at her... and it hit her tire.

It punctured the tire easily, and left a big enough hole that she was starting to having trouble keeping her car on the road.

The driver then slowed down and pulled up beside her, glaring through his visor.

For the first few minutes or so, the drive was uneventful. A few cars passed her back and forth, but nothing suspicious seemed to be happening.

Then she noticed a motorcycle coming up behind her... and it stayed behind her.

It drove up, before falling back, and then doing the same. It lingered back for another moment, before it turned down a side street, and disappeared.

However, if Vyn thought she was in the clear, after about half a minute, the same motorcycle sped out from a side street in front of her, and the driver looked back towards her.

A few months had passed, and Vyn and Jaden continued to maintain a good relationship, chatting with each other, meeting up occasionally... but all the while, Jaden couldn't shake the feeling of familiarity that she was giving off.

"...who IS she?" he asked himself, as he sat on his couch, staring at the news on the TV in front of him.

"WHY does she make me feel this way?" he wondered further, before he received a notification on his phone. He picked it up and looked at it, seeing it was an alert for those that were knowledgeable of the mana world.

CRIMSON ALERT - VAMPIRE HUNTER SEEN - THREAT LEVEL S - GOES BY NAME OF 'NEO HELSING' it read, scrolling by with further information.

"Geez." Jaden muttered.

"...and I'm supposed to meet Vyn for coffee later this evening." he then said, wondering if he should cancel the appointment or not.

Ryker looked over towards Eke, and nodded.

"Sure thing." he replied.

He then looked around, narrowing his eyes a little.

"Mmmm, over there." he said, pointing to a few large boulders alongside a river.

"We can set up the tent among the rocks, and it'll be relatively well-hidden." he reasoned.

"Should be a good place to rest."

"Maybe." Ryker replied.

"Guess it's all about perspective." he said.

"...and you sure you're okay?" he asked.

"You are yawning an awful lot." he commented.

"Are you tired, sleepy, bored, or what?" he asked further.

"Hasn't been THAT long since we packed up camp to move on..." he then muttered.

"An elder once told me it's symbolic." Ryker responded.

"Moving forward means moving towards your future." he said.

"But you need to be careful. It all depends on if you're moving towards something, or running away from something." he went on.

"I don't think it makes a difference." he then admitted.

"Looking forward to what's ahead, getting away from what's behind, reasons shouldn't make a difference." he continued.

"Progress is progress."

Ryker had finished carving up the fish, packaged away some for later, and had just cooked up some for himself.

"Sure." he said.

"Let's move." he told him.

"The more distance we put behind us, the better." he went on.

"...simply because forward motion is better than standing still." he then shrugged, as he started to eat, and shuffle forward.

"Wonder if we'll get any more weird unnatural weather..." he mumbled to himself.

"Mmmmm." Ryker muttered.

"Interesting." he said.

"The world of dragons is interesting... makes me want to immerse myself in it, and damn the consequences." he told him.

"As for your question..." he then went on, trailing off at the end for a moment.

"If you can constantly produce results like this, then yeah."

"Yeah, talk you then." Jaden responded as she left.

When she did, he remained silent for a moment, before looking at the soaked bandage in the trash.

He continued to stare at it, before shaking his head.

"Nope. Nope. I've moved on beyond that kind of behaviour." he told himself.

'But still... why is she so familiar?' he thought.

'Why do I feel so horrible for not remembering who she is? Assuming I've met her...' he wondered further.

He then sighed, and looked at his reflection once more.

"...I hate not knowing..." he mumbled.

".....uh.... hm, right." Jaden replied.

"That... make sense." he said.

"Hey, listen..." he then muttered.

"If you need to get out of here to get your hand tended to, don't let me hold you back." he told her, before grabbing a small piece of paper and scrawling something on the back of it.

"Here." he said, handing it to her.

"My personal cell number."
